Hey....I'm female, 17, and live in a nice suburban town next to a most gorgeous lake. I'm your normal teenager, but slightly insane with bouts of ADD and severe confusion. I'd like to say I'm a very passionate person, even though I don't believe I am very good at anything. The only thing that keeps me mentally stable and away from ending my life is music. Music seems to numb my mental problems and provide purpose for my scattered and meaningless life. I'm shy and too quiet as all of my friends would say. I'm a very nice person but people still bother me...The kind of people that seem to float through life aimlessly because of Daddy's money and the size of their chest. I'm certainly not jealous, just confused and curious if at the end of their life they would have the same treatment as me, who worked hard and lived with good morals! As you can plainly see, I'm searching for myself through religion. I don't know who I am, but I'm so busy doing sports, playing in band, schoolwork, my brain can't wander and start thinking about stuff like the meaning of my life.

Sounds like a perfectly normal 17 year-old, to me... Now, if you had said you were happy, and everything was perfect, THEN I might have been tempted to call for the men in white coats... wink.gif

What kind of music do you listen to?

Funny you should mention music... When I write, I usually have either the TV or the stereo on... people ask me how I can concentrate, but I seem to have trouble concentrating WITHOUT sound in the background. This is funny, because I'm usually very single minded. Give me two (Or more) stimuli simultaneously, and I not only lose concentration, but get frustrated and confused very easily... Maybe it has something to do with the rythym of music, and the cadence of voices...

Anyway, you're not alone...

I listen to all kinds of rock-Less than Jake, Killers, Dave Matthews, RHCP, Green Day, System of a Down. What is even more enjoyable is playing in my high school's symphonic, jazz, and marching band. I like any music that has intensity because I'm an intense person.

I'm more into old school rock, myself... Bowie, Beatles, Joe Jackson, Moody Blues ('Knights in white satin'...So wonderfully mellow...). I can't help it, I'm stuck in a time warp... tongue.gif
