So, my boy (Michael) ended up moving into his friend's house right as said friend moved out. Three of the friend's cats had kittens soon after, and that left michael with quite a lot of kittens.

So, with Michael moving, I decided to take one home.
He's left now, and I realised the kitten still has no name.

Originally, her name was Izzy.
But this cat is way too crazy to have a name like Isabelle.

So. She's a Calico. Extremely fluffy. She's a freaking ninja when it comes to climbing and enjoys chewing on my earlobe while I try to sleep. She meows until I start petting her, and enjoys sitting on my shoulder or head while I'm on the computer. I want a spunky name for her, as my other two pets are named Xena and Zubrea, and she's got to fit in. tongue.gif

Names?

Posted by: Yannick Jun 28 2009, 11:05 PM

I like the original name. tongue.gif

Posted by: IrishGuy Jun 29 2009, 02:01 AM

A picture might help us. Can you get one? I like naming things.

Posted by: Daria Jun 29 2009, 10:48 AM

Fish.

Posted by: crazymat Jun 29 2009, 12:15 PM

well, you could just go with "ninja" maybe?

*shrug* I'm not so good at naming things...

also, I am jealous... kittens are awesome biggrin.gif

*edit* Oh!! idea!! You should totally name it after http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longest_name!

Posted by: LoLo Jun 29 2009, 03:46 PM

Chun-Li after the coolest female street fighter character. lol

Or Narissa, just because I like it.

Posted by: candice Jun 29 2009, 05:45 PM

I used to have an extremely fluffy ninja calico who was named Agnes. I went through a phase of giving all of my pets old woman names.

I agree with Vic -- we need a photo if we're going to help you name her!

Posted by: crazymat Jun 29 2009, 05:48 PM

Yes this thread needs more pictures of kittens!

Posted by: funked)out_frog Jun 29 2009, 06:12 PM

Thirded.

Posted by: voices_in_my_head Jun 29 2009, 06:53 PM

Okay now everyone calm down, I need to charge the camera battery. But then there will be fluffy kitten pictures for all. smile.gif

Fluffeh....kitten? Kitten! Kitten! Kitten!

sorry, I really want a kitten. right now.

name it Kitt-eh. I've always been fond of the cats called Cat and dogs called Dog.

Posted by: Yannick Jun 30 2009, 03:31 AM

My mom's friend who lived with us for a while like... 8?... years ago had a cat named Kisa. If I recall correctly, that means 'cat' in Lithuanian.

Name it Cat in like Greek or something.

Posted by: MrTeapot Jun 30 2009, 01:51 PM

Oh, you can't call it Fish, my friend has just named their hamster Fish and it would be confusing to all parties involved.

I suggest Epsilon or other Greek letters.

Oh yay, you'd not be offended by me calling your dog, Dog, your cat, Cat or your snake, Snake and so on.

Erm... name it after a food or summit? My guinea pig's real name is Sherbet but his nick name is Wilbur, his brother is Marshmallow (but we call him Squirrel because he looks like a squirrel), his female cousins are Liquorish and Muffin. Their predecessors were Fudge and Brownie. I totally think you should name the kitty summit foody like Pavlova or Coconut Cake. But of course we needs pics wink.gif

Nyawww. I'm still pushing Calliope, but you could also call her Siouxie.

Posted by: TigerLily013 Jul 7 2009, 03:34 PM

Eeeeeeeeeeee @ cute kitty pic biggrin.gif

Call her Tink! She looks like a Tink!

Posted by: LoLo Jul 7 2009, 04:26 PM

After seeing the pic I now say Spike. She looks so punk rock, and nothing says punk rock more than Spike. lol

Posted by: Mata Jul 7 2009, 07:36 PM

Gizmo because it looks like the Gremlin!

Posted by: candice Jul 7 2009, 07:54 PM

Awwwwww! She looks a lot like my Agnes did when she was a kitten. She was a good cat.

She looks like an Esmeralda or a Larry. I like to name things Larry, though, so I generally think everything looks like a Larry.

That's how I feel about the name Sparky, speaking of which, man she looks like a Sparky. lol

Posted by: elphaba2 Jul 7 2009, 09:59 PM

Tim! Name her Tim!

also aw yeah kitty pictures biggrin.gif

Posted by: voices_in_my_head Jul 8 2009, 05:05 PM

LoLo- Dude, she is totally Punk Rock. She has that crazy hair 24/7 and I imagine if she could speak it'd be only to sing Distillers songs.

Mata - It's funny you'd say that, the though passed my head right before I clicked on the thread. tongue.gif

My mom really likes the name Cleopatra, Cleo for short...opinions?

Posted by: SPEAKERfortheLOST Jul 8 2009, 06:31 PM

Cleo reminds me too much of that old telephone "psychic"

A few suggestions from the AEther:

Aikona
Reeselte
Satirica
Weej

Posted by: Sir Psycho Sexy Jul 8 2009, 06:59 PM

I'd want to say something like Sid.

Posted by: LoLo Jul 8 2009, 07:23 PM

Instead of Cleo how about Patra?

Posted by: Yannick Jul 8 2009, 07:26 PM

So I'm thinking Hardcore -> Core -> Cobra.

Posted by: candice Jul 8 2009, 07:43 PM

Hatshepsut. Hattie for short. Still Egyptian, but doesn't have the Miss Cleo and "Cleopatra, comin' at ya" associations. You're probably too young to remember the latter. Thank your lucky stars that you are.

Posted by: Yannick Jul 8 2009, 10:02 PM

! Spunk! A combination of spiky and punk, makes you think of naughty things (though not related to the cat) and also means spirit.

Gah, that sounds so familar but I can't remember what it's from.

Izzy - Spunk would be awesome, were that not a slang term for...well...yeah.

Patra is pretty cool, I might go with that.

It just has to be a name that everyone agrees on. Were it up to me, I totally would have named her Schrodinger. tongue.gif

Posted by: Yannick Jul 9 2009, 12:10 AM

Eh, Patra reminds me too much of Petra, which was this annoying chick in this book.

How is Izzy not a crazy enough name? Izzy is an awesome name.

Patra sounds cool. Can call her Patti for short if you wanted to biggrin.gif

Just thought of couple more names that might work for your kitty as well! If your little lady is a very eccentric little princess, you could consider calling her Prima short for Primadonna or Diva!

Maybe also the name Venus because she looks like a Venus to me...perhaps Prima Venus? tongue.gif

Posted by: CheeseMoose Jul 9 2009, 08:17 PM

I think she looks like a Roxanne, Roxy for short.

Ooh, I actually like that one! Roxy/Roxanne is an awesome name.

Posted by: SPEAKERfortheLOST Jul 9 2009, 09:07 PM

Ya, Roxanne is awesome but Roxy has that somewhat unfortunate problem of being associated with ditzy girls who think they look good in tight surfer clothes that then stole the name for some really skanky clothes...

I'm sorry, but does anyone else think that they have a bit of a problem?

I do link Patra though...

Posted by: Faerieryn Jul 9 2009, 09:48 PM

I agree with Shroedinger!!! Although she is the cutest little thing in the whole wide world and should obviously be named Ryn (cos I'm that self centred)!!!! what about Mittens or Snowdrop??? Perhaps name her after a character froma novel? Nanny Ogg?

Or splodge. Splodge is a good name for any cat. Gizmo is good too!! Too many choices!!

Just a note that my kitten is currently scoffing a very large spider right behind me. Bless!!!

Posted by: Yannick Jul 9 2009, 10:16 PM

If it's being named Ryn, it should totally stay named Izzy. ;P

What about like Tiger or something like that?

Posted by: Daria Jul 9 2009, 10:30 PM

Instead of Izzy, how about Jizzy? Like Izzy, only with more spunk.

Je ne regrete rien. It's late and I'm tired.

Posted by: Yannick Jul 9 2009, 10:39 PM

Hahahahaaha. DO IT.

Posted by: Mata Jul 10 2009, 12:32 PM

Just call it Mata and be done with it. It's a name that suits all genders! biggrin.gif

Posted by: DarkInferno Jul 11 2009, 01:57 PM

or even... as rumour has it.. a robotic maniacal would be overlord.

Posted by: voices_in_my_head Jul 14 2009, 12:59 AM

My mom is leaning towards Ziggy, so our three pets would be Zubrea, Xena and Ziggy. Which is pretty catchy.

I dig Gizmo too....GAH

Why is it so hard to name things?

Posted by: Cath Jul 14 2009, 10:23 AM

Extend it to Ziggy Stardust! biggrin.gif I wont add 'and the spiders from Mars' bit. tongue.gif

Posted by: SPEAKERfortheLOST Jul 14 2009, 09:22 PM

Ditto on the Ziggy Stardust bit...

Although if you got some spiders you could have some fun...

Posted by: Mata Jul 15 2009, 12:14 PM

Don't cats merrily munch on spiders? I hear they prefer to do this with as many legs sticking out of their mouths as possible.

Posted by: voices_in_my_head Jul 29 2009, 04:30 AM

THE KITTEN HAS BEEN NAMED.

Well, kinda.

None of us could agree on a name, so we all call it what we want (we decided it doesn't really matter 'cos cats don't respond to their name being called anyway.)
Annie calls her Izzy.
Dad calls her Chewtoy (he hates cats, and has a dog whom he loves waaaay too much for his own good. The name given to the cat is an indicator of that, i think.)
Mom calls her Cutie, though I guess that's more of an affectionate nickname than an actual name.
And I call her any of the Following: Little Sh*t ('cause she is), Fluffbutt (pronounced "Fwuff butt" 'cause it's impossible to talk to something that cute normally), or Nibbler (Futurama!)
Also, we all refer to her as Xena's (My dog) Baby, because Xena and her have formed what is possibly the cutest bond ever. Xena licks her clean like a momma cat, and they curl up for naps together.

Dawwwwwwwww! KA-YUTE!

I require photographic evidence of this behaviour. For scientific purposes.

Posted by: voices_in_my_head Jul 29 2009, 01:07 PM

Believe me, I've been trying! but they're like little fluffy ninjas about it. They're totally cool with being adorable together, but as soon as you bring a camera out, they move. sad.gif

My cat responds, Annie ftw tongue.gif, and lol.

Posted by: TigerLily013 Jul 31 2009, 07:46 PM

Yeah all my cats respond to their names so a cat not responding eventually to theirs is a first in my books. I hope you guys stick to one name soon, for the kitten's sake of course. Don't want to confuse the poor thing.

Posted by: voices_in_my_head Jul 31 2009, 09:03 PM

Most of us just call her kitten. tongue.gif
