So let get this underway. Yup the lovely Cand and I are back to organise this years Secret Santa. Same rules as ever 5ish gift to be sent to a person of our choosing. evil.gif

So put your mark if you want to join in and state who you've been santa to in previous years so we can try and avoid giving you the same person again. (plus I might finaly find out who was mine last year tongue.gif ) Also put up an few like and dislikes (and anything you really have aproblem with just to be on the safe side) to help out your SS.

I think that's it I'm sure if I missed anything Cand will add it in.

Soo...

Last year I was Izzy's secret santa, the year before that I believe Kitty recieved a gift from me.
I love punkish-alternative type fashion, art, photography, and books in general. Things that make me laugh are pretty much awesome. Random things are too. Unless it's like, covered in sequins or something, I don't have any problems. I don't like spicy things. Annnnd that's about it.

Likes: little bits of jewelry (especially rings!), homemade stuffff, recipes, maps, flowers, feathers, elegant missives written in foreign tongues, funny stories, letters, tea, LOADS OF THINGS. I absolutely loved the hat James sent last year, and the awesome racing penguins & sketchpad & I can't even remember what-all from Ste. Matazonians win at presents.
Dislikes: Um, hm. Pricey things? Really, really useless things (like backscratchers, or slap-chops. But note that racing penguins are the opposite of useless and in fact helped me make my college decision senior year.) Oh! I don't like smelly things. Like smelly candles or gross incense.

Name: Candice
Previous victims: Ashbless and CheeseMoose
Likes/Dislikes: I think the past two years I have just requested something that will make me laugh, and it ended up getting me a titanium spork, caffeinated soap, pirate paraphernalia, and a mix CD. I think I will stick with that request this year, since it has obviously served me well in the past. If Santa finds himself inclined to send food items, I don't like anything banana or cherry flavoured.

We need a deadline for signing up/sending gifts. I'm going to say December 1st for the signup, and I think the last time for posting international parcels is usually sometime around the 10th, so we'll go with that for sending them.

I'll collect all of the addresses again. So, send them my way via PM, even if you think I already have it (unless your name is moop tongue.gif ). It makes it easier to keep track of that way (plus, I tend to lose address books. It's my hidden superpower, I think).

I don't know what to say for likes or dislikes... I like books, I'm kind of picky about food so you probably shouldn't send me anything to be on the safe side (except for maybe smarties... and milk chocolate... mmm) um, I don't know, surprise me.

Likes/Dislikes: I have a great love of random things... my last secret package looked like it was straight out of a certain book that shall remain nameless... it contained so many random things... quite fun... So just go for the greatest amount of randomness possible!

Posted by: Mata Nov 3 2009, 02:01 PM

Name: Mata
Previous victim: Ooo.... I had Smiler or Ryn last year, I believe. I can't remember the year before, sorry!
Likes: Arty or odd books (things for adults with pictures are generally good), steampunky things, vampirey things, electronic music (bloopy bleepy or whooshy more than dancey), small reglious icons (I've got a lovely brass Bhudda, an antique confucian judge, and a two-inch high Russian orthodox triptych)... Interesting stuff... Small things! I'm running out of space in my house, with all my clutter! Edible things are good. I like spicy things, and prefer savoury to sweet (although sweet is still good too, it's just a preference). Unusual foods can be good, but they can also be expensive so don't go down that path just for the novelty. Cool things, odd things... Good stuff.
Dislikes: I'm just finishing the bath stuff from last Christmas, so while smellies are good I think it's safe to say I'm usually covered for that area by my family. I dislike heavy things, not because I actually dislike them, but because they make me feel bad that someone spent six times more on the shipping than on the presents! Other than that, I don't really dislike much! smile.gif

Yes all new comers are welcome. Actually make it easier for us to mix up the addies. biggrin.gif

Go with what Cand said for the deadlines. So if you can pm your addresses to her asap (even if you did it last year, dont expect us to be that organised guy's! tongue.gif ). 1st of december for sign ups and 10th ish for pressies to be sent (depending on how far they need to travel)

PS. Thanks muchly for my pressie last year Izzy the sweet were happily munched and the parrot is perched in my room awaitting some piratey goodness (actually it's still wearing the necklace)

I like coffee paraphernalia, I can never have too many interesting (but not too ridiculous or brightly colored - makes me look like I have jaundice) bandanas, but I bet you can't top Syuu as she once sent me a box full blink.gif. Yep! Plus you can only keep so many PMs, ya know. I deleted all of the messages from last year's Secret Santa long ago. It just makes it easier to keep track of the whole thing if everyone sends their address.

I'll go through my PMs and this thread tomorrow and post whose addresses I have and whose I still need. On the 2nd I will compile Cath's half of the list and send it to her, so you all should know who you have to buy for not long after that.

Nope! You have until the 1st. tongue.gif PM me your address, mister. Also, let me know who your previous victims were so you don't get paired up with them again.

Posted by: candice Dec 1 2009, 05:50 PM

Okay, I have compiled the lists and will be sending Cath her half shortly. You should all receive your victim's name and address before too much longer!

Edit: I have sent all but one of my PMs. A certain fellow coordinator didn't send me her address this year, so I am waiting on that to send the last one. tongue.gif

Also, Hobbes should have received two PMs from me. I accidentally assigned him someone from Cath's half of the list at first. Whoops. Hobbes, if there's any confusion about who you were actually assigned, just PM me. Otherwise one person might end up getting two gifts, while another gets none!

Ho Ho Ho,

Santa's elves have been lax with the record keeping this year. In order to prevent a repeat of last year's incident we need to ask you a few questions:

Do you have any allergies that you are aware of?
Nuts? Rubber? Shell fish?

Do you have any dietary preferences?
Vegetarian? Vegan? No Octopus?

What is your hat size?
Shoe size?
Waist size?

Don't forget. This questionnaire is for your own protection. And that of the elves. Some of them are still in therapy after the terrible hat incident of '08.

O' Secret Santa whoever you are! Grace me this Christmas with a gift extraordinare!

Er.. To the Elves of mine Secret Santa your questions are for naught as I already sent you thrice the triplicate copies of the third question... or maybe it was the first...

I'll answer anyway, for the sake of the lurkers in the forum... you know who you are...

I like all foods as I'm willing to try anything at least once... I would prefer that I didn't have to kill it myself but I can manage if the need arises... My dimensions are: Large T-Shirt, 32 inch waist by 32 inch inseam pants, Shoes would be avoidable as I prefer bare-footed-ness, my fedora says L\XL and my legendary fedora says L... divine what you will from that...

aut Caesar aut nihil

Santa is wondering if Pixiegoth wants to be a little bit more specific with her interests? smile.gif Santa's music taste isn't extraordinarily diverse these days, so a gift consisting entirely of songs my end in a headache for you, which Santa doesn't want.

Favourite... Colours? Foods? Flavours? Bands? Smells? Jokes? Materials? Things to do?

Posted by: Yannick Dec 1 2009, 11:35 PM

Heya Santa.

Allergies: None.
Dietary preferences: I don't care as far as vegan/vegetarian stuff goes, but spicy things make me cry, and I just can't do coconut. Not a huge fan of potatoes either, unless they're in pancake form. Sour things = <3, sweet is is cool.

Hat size? ...Standard..? I have an average sized noggin.
Shoe size: 7 1/2 in dude's, 8 works when I wear a bunch of socks. ..I'm really picky with shoes.
Waist size: 7 in US.

Extra appendages: That second head and third arm I've been trying to get still haven't been approved by my doctors, so at this point in time, no.

Are there any abnormalities of things you like/dislike that we elves of Matazone[tm] do not already know about? i.e. do you actually like frilly girly stuff?
...Umm. Frilly and girly is a nono. It seems like a lot of people have been getting into Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh again lately, and I'm NOT into that. Star Wars is awesome. That you don't already know about, hmm. I'm pretty open about my dislikes, so if you've been following the board over the last few years, you should have those down. I'm a huuuuuge NoFX fan. Geeky things are cool. Things that make you think (brain teaserish stuff) is awesome.

Finally, is there anything that you already have/don't want/have no use for that can be provided... er... avoided being sent to you?
Already have: ..Basic life necessities?
Don't want: Girly things, kiddy things, annoying things, Twilight things.. umm... I don't know...
Don't need: Anything that will make me sweat puddles in Florida. Cluttery things.

Just PM SS and Cand will receive some interesting things this Christmas... Just imagine the matazone style 'things' that would be received...

Posted by: Daria Dec 2 2009, 01:08 AM

It was for the shaving comp. Moop got a crocodile posing pouch, but only after we put it on the head of one of our cats and it walked backwards, shaking its grinning face menacingly.
It was hillarious.

I know where she lives. If she does such things, I shall show up on her doorstep and tell her that her eyebrows are uneven! And I won't even bring cookies! evil.gif

That crocodile posing pouch lived on my teddy bear for awhile. It lives in moop's underwear drawer now (I think we removed it from the teddy cause his grandparents were visiting or something). It makes putting laundry away more amusing.

Does anybody know, if I were to order through Amazon and have it shipped direct, would the name of the purchaser show on the included receipt?

Seeing as I have a giftee in another country, I feel this would be a better way to get it there on time. I'm just concerned I'll give myself away.

Posted by: SPEAKERfortheLOST Dec 2 2009, 05:32 AM

I used a different site than Amazon the first go-round but you would have to ask Cand because I can't remember if it worked for me or not... though you could try using the amazon for that country, might work...

EDIT: I just tried using the amazon.co.uk link at the bottom of matazone.co.uk (like we all should when we order anything from amazon) and it listed the proper ways and methods to ship in the UK... so maybe you could try the other site?

Posted by: candice Dec 2 2009, 07:16 AM

Those elves, still crap with the details. They get the big picture, but they just miss the little stuff. Let's take voices_in_my_head for example. They've forgotten what sort of things she likes about photography. Like looking or taking the pictures. And what kind of camera she uses/prefers. And the books she likes to read.

Hey Santa *sits on your lap*

Is it okay to flirt with Santa? Anyways. I'll go for Penguinz as they like to snuggle.

Also, thanks for the heads up Santa *wink*

Hey hey heyyyy!

I mean...

Hohoho!

Those elves, still crap with the details. They get the big picture, but they just miss the little stuff. Let's take voices_in_my_head for example. They've forgotten what sort of things she likes about photography. Like looking or taking the pictures. And what kind of camera she uses/prefers. And the books she likes to read.

So if you could, voices_in_my_head, give me those things to input into the database. If you'll excuse me, I've got some magical little people to abuse.

Photography: I like looking at the pictures but I like taking them more. My camera is a Cannon Digital Rebel Xsi, and I am in love with it. As far as photography goes, I have everything I need. But cool things to wear during photoshoots would be awesome, plus I'm kinda a whore about earrings/hats/bracelets/ect. They're just so shiney.

As far as books go, I like the thought-provoking variety. Favorites are 1984, Exit Here, and Harry Potter.
...
Okay, so Harry potter doesn't fit in with those. But still. Harry potter = awesome.

Um...that's about it, I think.

Dear, sweet Ashbless,

The Gift-O-Tron 3000 is having a helluva time picking out a super treat for you, this may have something to do with your data-slate being worryingly bare. If you could be so good as to give good old me a few more pointers, it'd make the process run a whole lot smoother, and avoid those pesky system crashes. (I've lost 15 elves in the past 5 days alone!)
Do you have any allergies I should know about? Do you still receive those delightful veg hampers from my cousin Ted? What's your favourite kind of egg? How much would could a wood chuck chuck? Do you like gloves?

Yours,
S. S. Claus

P.S. Ho ho ho

Posted by: Ashbless Dec 7 2009, 12:43 AM

Dearest St. Nick,

I have no food allergies but wool makes me itch no matter how little is in the garment, the hampers still come every two weeks (I couldn't get milk or cheese into the fridge for fruits & vegs with one a week), kinder eggs are nice, a wood chuck could chuck as much wood as he would care to chuck and I've no need for gloves as I bought a lovely pair that allow me to do muppet jazz hands.
I'm a biblioholic, a cat owner, absolutely love games/puzzles/small strange toys. I like coffee, yes okay, I'm addicted to my coffee. I'm not too keen on the colour light pink. Light pink has been attempting to sneak into my life in a number of what it thinks is sneaky ways and there will be a stop put to the addition of more light pink! Bath oils/salts are fine. Highly perfumed stuff not as nice. I like wood and glass over metal as clutter on the bookshelves.
Oh right. I don't have pierced anything so earrings are a bit useless. Shiny but useless.
Does that help? I'm really not very picky. (except light pink) I've been delighted so far with previous gifts Santa.

Hope the labour shortage works out soon for you.
Ashbless

Ho Ho Ho!

Well Ashbless we'll input it in and see what occurs. I haven't forgotten the Nun though so we'll have to see if you've been good enough this year to counteract it. Driving over icy roads to reassure a friend did count in your favour. I'm checking the list twice.

Daria your gift has gone to the elves for wrap and should be headed your way soon.

Posted by: candice Dec 7 2009, 05:47 PM

Oho! I received another Spoongift today. This time it was arse/face soap. laugh.gif

Thanks again, Spoony!

Also, just as a reminder, those of you with victims in another country should try to send your gift soon to make sure it's there before Christmas!

Posted by: Secret Santa Dec 7 2009, 07:53 PM

Lo Ho Ho. (sorry)

Lolo's gift has been dispatched by my remaining elves. It's been a tragic season this year. Due to an elf stuck Santa's gift processing machines your ticket got stuck, there were some explosions, it split in three. Due to the mishap you may find multiple gifts winging your way. Be sure to rinse off any chunks of elf with warm soapy water before opening.

Yours,
Santa

Ho ho hell-O, Vic!

I lost my elves. I don't know where I put them. For that matter, where are my glasses? I'm a mess.

Given my current situation, can you elaborate a little on what is it you're hoping to find under your tree?

Damn elves.

The arse/face soap reminded me of our adventure to get Uno biggrin.gif

The best of the trio is yet to come ph34r.gif Be afraid, be very... Very, extremely, unfathomably afraid. Because the last one is terrifying, hilarious and just awful.

My only regret with purchasing online is I don't get to get a peek at the gifts prior to them arriving. This results in poor quality control. sad.gif

Posted by: Secret Santa Dec 8 2009, 01:02 AM

Oh No No,

Daria, the elves just tossed your gift into the mails unwrapped before decamping en masse. I'll offer a team building exercise in Hawaii post-Christmas to get the pointy eared ungrateful idjits back but unfortunately it means your parcel's packaging IS it's wrapping paper.

The most wonderful time....it's a wonder I have any hair left after wanting to pull it out in frustration.

Errr...you know, this was more entertaining watching other people do it. Now it's my turn and it's haaard. Pocket sized notebooks are good. Extra fine pens. Think Geek has several mini tools that look interesting. Now I feel sort of like a douche. Letters are good, too! I like reading things. I'd be happy with a story. Handmade something. Strong earth magnets? I'm trying to be specific so you don't have to spend time wondering just what to do. But then I get all confliklasdfj;lag;lhadfkgj;hdakg

It really is the thought that counts, though.

Also, what animals do you prefer? Do you like cute things? How about Jewlrey? Any favourite Colours or patterns?

Thank you,

Posted by: Secret Santa Dec 8 2009, 04:14 AM

Izzy,

Your gifts have been manufactured. Correctly I might add. However, there may be a small problem. You see the elves were on vacation a little while ago and some have seem to have got a rather nasty bug. A rather very bad one it is. My workforce of elves is being decimated! So I would exercise extreme caution when opening your package as your gifts may very well have been contaminated with the Ebola virus, however, don't worry about the Swine Flu. All the elves were vaccinated against it.

You package has been handed over to our wrapping and distribution department. They are very fast. You will receive your present very soon. And by very I mean <insert diety of your choice> only knows.

For now, be nice to your neighbors.

Dear Mr CheeseMoose,

You have not been forgotten, but I'm afraid those lazy elves have gotten their hands on some of santa's booze again and we're way behind schedule here at the north pole!

I have beaten a few of them to set an example but at this rate your present won't be constructed until at least this weekend. As I normally offload most of my parcels to the wonderful royal mail service so I can finish early and go down the pub, there's a small chance your present won't arrive in time. Sorry!

I'll do my best to ensure your prezzie reaches the wrapping/distribution dept ASAP.

- Santa

P.S. If you have any specific requests regarding the nature of your gift, now is the time to mention them! My data can be a little out of date sometimes. You're still into pokemon right?

Posted by: CheeseMoose Dec 8 2009, 06:53 PM

No worries Santa, it's all good. I have no specific requests, other than as I said before no sweet foods (including chocolate). Other than that I'm easy really.

Hey Santa! It's okay, I understand about lateness. I LOVE cute things. Seriously, if it's cute i'll probably be happy with it. Jewelry is great too. I've just started wearing more earrings since I now am not so lazy and change them every day. As far as animals I like lots of barnyard ones - sheep, pigs, cows - and other really cute ones like dogs and pandas and yeah pretty much anything. I love polka dots and plaid! smile.gif And the color purple.

Dear, dear Pat,

Christmas is a busy season and the elves had slated today for your present's manufacture and shipping. Alas! An unexpected snowstorm has delayed a bit of our parcel sending. The elves are rescheduling for Friday, so hopefully your gift will not be *too* late. My sincere apologies.

However, this is a good opportunity for more specific requests! We have a decent idea of what we might like to send you, but should you like to clarify now would be the perfect time to do so. My list says you've been very good this year so we would like to reward you!

Thanks and ho-ho-hoppy holidays,
Santa

Spoony! Spoony Spoony Spoony, a gadget is winging it's way to you. Well, it will be when the elves wake up in the morning and go to the post office. Sometimes they're quite lazy really - you'd think that with eleven months off that they wouldn't mind getting down to work in December, but they really can be quite troublesome. They just sit there, preening their ears, staring at posters of Legolas.

Miss Snoo,

Due to the bad economy I had to lay off some lazy elves, which resulted in slower production rates in my workshop this season. This being the case, I outsourced the manufacturing of a part of your present and that vendor apparently posts their products by actual snail. This being the case, I have sent the majority of your present today and will send the last part of your present to you at a later time when it arrives at my workshop.

I think I have learned my lesson on outsourcing and will instead hire back some of the local elves.

Your gift was transmitted by transmatter ray this morning/day/afternoon/evening/et cetera. You should receive it in part or in whole within the next few days. However, you will not be receiving your sample of Ebola. My elves found a voodoo priest that helped greatly in relieving their pain and suffering and helped them get better. However, better in this case could be disputed. He just sacrificed them to some random god and said it was for the best. He even had the gall to charge me a fiver for it. Damn bad economy.

Well I guess that just shows you what being in a bad position would make you do.

Posted by: Secret Santa Dec 17 2009, 12:54 AM

Dear Moop,

With a little over a week to go until the big day, my workshop is a hive of activity. The elves are busy putting the final touches to all the toys that they've been making this year, and many have already been wrapped and tagged: there will be so many happy faces on Christmas morning! Mrs. Claus tells me that the reindeer are getting fidgety, sensing that their time in the sky is fast approaching.

I am sure that you can therefore appreciate the extra effort I've made, and the controversy I've caused, by requesting that your gift be with you before the 25th. All the good boys and girls have to wait until Christmas Day, so why should you get any special treatment?

After some lengthy discussions with the union members (involving very heated negotiation sessions), your gift is now on its way. Christmas was very nearly cancelled this year due to the threat of strike action, but everything appears to have settled down now.

I don't do this for just anybody you know.

Okey dokey. Has anyone not sent their gift (who hasn't already notified their victim that it might be a bit late)? If so, get on it, or there will be no dessert for you and you will have to sit in the naughty spot! tongue.gif

One person has just backed out, so I am trying to reassign a victim. I've PMed said person's Santa, but if s/he has already posted their gift, I might be back in the thread soonish to ask if anyone wants to adopt a poor little orphan!

Edit: ka-sorted. The orphan now has a Santa! If anyone else is going to back out, it'd be grand if you let either Cath or myself know ASAP, as it's only just over a week before Christmas.

Dear Pat:

This year has been pretty rough on poor old Santa... Santa is usually not late, but alas. That said, there should be two parcels coming to you. One *should* reach you by Christmas. The other should reach you... eventually. blush.gif But! your gifts were picked with love and care by Santa himself - that's right, I didn't delegate anything to the elves. Perhaps I should have. Anyway, merry Christmas!

Ho Ho Ho Speaker,

We lost a few elves in the manufacturing process but your gift has been loaded into docking bay 3 to be picked up by the sleigh on its next trip. Please standby to recieve them within the next 3-5 working days. Try not to look directly into the box when you open it. We take no responsibility for anything that happens if you disregard these instructions.

Indeed. I saw the OX and it wasn't too tricky to figure it out! tongue.gif

I really mean that I've always wanted a laser pointer too. My mom wouldn't let me buy one as a kid because, ala a Christmas Story, I'd shoot my eye out or something. dry.gif

Anyway! Thanks a bunch smile.gif

I got an Edward Monkton coaster and note pad and I very happy man bottle opener and rather cuter and opropriate Kimmidoll.

Hehe super monkey!

And I actually got round to taking photo's

Posted by: candice Dec 20 2009, 01:50 PM

We have one of those monkeys! Ours is named Zelda.

I realised the other day that the penis mug Santa Spoon sent me is anatomically incorrect! The best (and least graphic) way I can think of to describe it is that it's upside down. Somehow this made it funnier to me. I have a mutant penis mug.

For future reference the Candy Grill tastes gross, I put it in for long enough to take pictures but that was plenty long enough. Also it doesn't fit me, it is obviously designed for people who have really flat front teeth and big mouths!

Ahoy there, crazymat! Santa has been running around his elves' toy shop (they are actually the owners, I'm just the sort of an advertisement to improve marketing) and has picked out some presents he thinks you'll enjoy. They should make their way to you the next time I can convince the Mrs to go to the post office. Hopefully tomorrow.

My living room is covered in glitter. moop is opening his Secret Santa gift right now, and his Santa is apparently a big fan of the stuff! If I didn't actually know who it was, I would guess Cath. tongue.gif

Also, does anyone else just want to rip a gift out of someone's hands and open the dang thing for them when they open it slowly, so as to not tear the wrapping paper? Because OH MAN. I do.

Posted by: moop Dec 21 2009, 02:50 PM

So hopefully with a good wind and the right tides she should recieve it in the next few days.

I know who his Santa was, anyway, since I was the one to assign him. There was even glitter on the outside of the parcel! We were amused.

Behold, pictures:

A very mysterious and glittery parcel arrived this morning.

Containing some very mysterious (black is the international colour of mystery) and glittery packaging.

Awesome Mongolian lizard stamps were excavated from below 10 or so additional layers of packaging.
My favourite so far is the dude in the middle.

And a mysterious foam block was unearthed containing the above.

Also included but not pictured:
- A card
- Innumerable spangles

We lost a few elves in the manufacturing process but your gift has been loaded into docking bay 3 to be picked up by the sleigh on its next trip. Please standby to recieve them within the next 3-5 working days. Try not to look directly into the box when you open it. We take no responsibility for anything that happens if you disregard these instructions.

PS: A bill is also in the post for replacement elves. Unfortunately it's been a bad year and we've been forced to start charging. Feel free to contact our finance division to setup a payment plan.

SPEAKING OF AWESOME GIFTS -

Thanks to mr. Victor, I now have two super-cute necklaces (A rhinestone skull one and an owl pendant one) and two "ghost hunting" cameras.

The first two are perfect for my taste in jewlrey, although they made me wonder how in the world a guy was able to pick out cute jewlrey on their own...
And one of the ghost hunting cameras was used to take all of our Christmas photos - The entire family has convinced my mom that it's just some old disposable camera I found in my room and wanted to use the film up on. We're going to scare the S**t out of her when they're developed. smile.gif

Oh come on! I'm awesome. That's the only explanation needed. I'm very glad that you enjoyed them so much. There may be a letter to follow. It was supposed to be included in the box, but I forgot. And now I can't remember if I mailed the letter. Hm.

Following tradition, I waited until Christmas day to open the gift I got from elphaba/Amy. She gave me perfectly sized notepads decorated with old pictures. I'm going to use the first pages to write an explanation for each.

Along with the notepads she made me my very own special mixed CD entitled "Mix To Which One Might Write." It'll be the first CD I've used in years. And also! An article about zombies. It touched the nerd in me in a very special way. Muchas gracias ma'am.

Just in case, since it was almost an issue for Lo when she gave her actual name to pick up a parcel addressed to LoLo Cablowski, your gift is addressed to Amy von Elphaba. tongue.gif

I have returned from the frozen north... well it might not be that much north but it was still frozen!

I have received a small package that was refrigerated by the neighbor lady that I asked to watch for such a package before I left....

Inside contained: JOY!!! HAPPY HAPPY JOY!!! other wise known as cookies from miss frogg(I think)...

Thank you Santa!

>_>

Erm, cookies? I think your neighbour screwed you over. It's not cookies. tongue.gif

PS, I forgot to take a pic before I sent it, and would appreciate one for my records, if you dont mind?

I hope you like happy.gif

*Waits patiently by the post office box.*

The earlier mystery pressie of Unseen Academicals turned out to be from my nearly nieces. I have awesome nearly family. So the elves hit the nog on the way to the post is my guess. : )

Oh dear, are you still waiting? It was sent on the 17th, and so may have been caught up in the adverse weather conditions (read: snow), at one of my sorting offices in England. We would like to apologise for the late running of this service.

I just got back from the post. Does Santa know that I totally don't deserve such an awesome gift? CAND YOU ARE AWESOME AT PRESENTS! Thanks so much!

I got a huge huge mug, ana map to put on the wall in our boring "office" room, ana packet of "biscuits", an TEA, ana little house to put the loose tea in, an' an' an' also a very nice letter including a recipe! Your handwriting is totally not illegible, Cand! It is the legiblest!

The best, though, was coming home today, and bein' hella cantankerous on account of bein' out of tea and having a COLD on top of things, and then fighting with the grouchy little Korean man who runs the dep-cum-post-office and then. Awesome presentage.

Excuse me, I'm off to make a cuppa. And that cup? It has a sweater. In case you were wondering.

Yay! biggrin.gif You are very welcome!

I was worried about the mug breaking in the post. Glad you got it okay in the end!

Izzy,

I am curious. Did you receive your gifts yet? unsure.gif

I ask because all of the gifts were sent near a month ago and I have not heard that you received them.

Please respond in your own time.

-SS

Posted by: Yannick Jan 6 2010, 02:45 AM

...No, not yet. sad.gif

Think they might have gotten lost?

Posted by: Cath Jan 6 2010, 07:58 PM

So we have Ashbless and Izzy still out standing (both in the postal system somewhere) is there anyone else? Just so we know everyone has they're gift or the situation?

Posted by: crazymat Jan 6 2010, 09:36 PM

Mine might have arrived! Dad called saying I have a parcel from america but I don't know if it's from my secret santa here or from another one on a different forum. unsure.gif

Posted by: Mata Jan 7 2010, 01:19 PM

Nothing's turned up for me yet. (Hobbes's present to me was a false alarm!) My SS did say that it had been posted though, so I assume it's just those reindeer being tardy.

Thanks Santa!

My pressie of little books was in the post box today. Just to update the database I'm not eastern orthodox but I appreciate that it'd be Christmas today if I were. laugh.gif I will now be able to properly dance like a zombie at the next Zombiewalk thanks to the Thriller book. The other mini book, despite sneaking more pink into my apartment, looks packed with loads of cool info. Thanks again Santa. biggrin.gif

Has the present still not arrived? unsure.gif

Posted by: crazymat Jan 24 2010, 12:26 PM

I'm not sure! unsure.gif I don't know if my dad actually forwarded the parcel or not... I'll call him later and find out.

Posted by: Cath Jan 25 2010, 12:24 AM

Mata you got yours yet?

Posted by: Mata Jan 25 2010, 02:00 PM

'Fraid not. It's looking very much like it's gone AWOL. sad.gif Aww, that's a shame. Still, I'm very much in the mind that it is the thought that counts! And I got a cool present from Hobbes, so I count myself as a winner here smile.gif

Posted by: Cath Jan 25 2010, 04:48 PM

Anyone else or is it Just Mata, Izzy and maybe Crazymat?

Glad you liked it, and that I could act as a prequel to your Secret Santa's gift should it turn up...

Posted by: Yannick Jan 25 2010, 11:55 PM

Pssh, I claim the best Santa for myself. I GOT AN AWESOME YODA CAR MAGNET. <333 Also instant snow (I sense an instant-snow-ball fight in my future tongue.gif), a titanium spork, and Black Black gum. Which.. is pretty good gum. You chew it, and you start to feel the peppermintyness in your nose, making breathing awesome.

Thanks Santa biggrin.gif (Speaker?)

Posted by: SPEAKERfortheLOST Jan 26 2010, 03:30 AM

Did the spork give it away?

Posted by: Yannick Jan 26 2010, 01:03 PM

The return address. tongue.gif

Posted by: SPEAKERfortheLOST Jan 26 2010, 02:39 PM

Knew I should have sent it from Maryland...

Posted by: Yannick Jan 26 2010, 02:45 PM

...I prefer it being sent from Florida. tongue.gif

Posted by: SPEAKERfortheLOST Jan 26 2010, 03:49 PM

You're welcome.

Posted by: Cath Feb 1 2010, 02:31 PM

Haveing just recieve a message from Secret Santa regarding Mata's pressie aparently due to problems in the space time continuum it will arrive more in the form of a b'day pressie with xmas over tones. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Mata Feb 3 2010, 01:43 PM

Hahahaha biggrin.gif Okay then, sounds good to me, but I hope Santa hasn't gone to additional expense.

Posted by: crazymat Feb 9 2010, 09:02 AM

ok, I'm 99% sure that my present arrived in Brighton, I just don't know what my dad has done with it since then (stole it for himself, probably)

Posted by: Secret Santa Feb 9 2010, 11:58 AM

Tell your dad he's definitely going on the naughty list if that's the case. tongue.gif

Posted by: crazymat Feb 20 2010, 05:35 PM

I think it's gotten lost in the mail. Royal mail suck sad.gif

Posted by: Hobbes Feb 23 2010, 05:56 PM

I'm not sure I actually know who sent me my awesome flying monkey?

Posted by: CheeseMoose Feb 23 2010, 07:05 PM

I thought I said, but that was me Hobbes.

Posted by: Hobbes Feb 23 2010, 08:11 PM

Aha... I hope I was appreciative!

Here's some more appreciation, just in case: THANK YOU smile.gif

My Secret Santa arrived! biggrin.gif (Actually it arrived about a week ago but I've not had time to put the picture up anywhere.)

It's a knitted Willy Warmer (no, I won't be posting photos of me modelling it, and it's a bit small I think wink.gif ), and a cloth bat badge. There was also a cool card with a squid/Cthullu line drawing on the front, but that's staying on my desk at work.

Who's my Secret Santa? ... Hmm... Well, the Cthullu card would make me think of Saucy Tara, but I don't think she was playing this year was she? The bat makes me think of Cath, because she's the queen of hand made things, but it could be shop-bought I guess... So I don't know!

Thank you whoever it was, it gave me a good laugh at my desk at work biggrin.gif

Posted by: Cath Mar 21 2010, 05:27 PM

Nope not me or Saucey T but there is someone else who makes stuff and they posted pics a while back. tongue.gif

Posted by: Daria Mar 21 2010, 10:18 PM

And who might feel terrible for being so late with posting stuff...

Posted by: Mata Mar 22 2010, 01:43 PM

It's okay D, thanks for getting there in the end! *hugs* The bat is lovely smile.gif
