It's that time again, my darlings! If you sign up before the 25th of November, you will receive your very own Matazonian to shower with gifts costing around 5 (as of right now, that's about $8 US).

To sign up, simply fill out the form at the bottom of this post with your own information, post it in this thread, and then PM me your address.

Important note: You need to send me your address even if you think I already have it.

The only person who can ignore the above message is moop, since he lives with me. tongue.gif I can remember my own address, but the odds of me actually finding an address sent to me a year ago are slim to none. Every year, someone forgets, and I have to track them down and tell them to go cut me a switch. Don't be that guy. Don't make me whoop you.

Victims will be assigned soon after the sign-up deadline passes. The deadline for sending gifts will be the 10th of December, given that some will have to be sent internationally. There's some wiggle room on the deadline, but be sure to let your victim know if his/her gift will be late (you'll receive the sign-in info for the Secret Santa account when one of Santa's helpers PMs you with your victim's name and address, and you can post in this thread under that username to ask questions, etc.).

Please don't participate if you think you might not be able to follow through. Sometimes things beyond your control can come up, which is perfectly understandable, but if you're going to flake, for the love of Pete, let us know as far in advance as you can, okay? Okay. Also, when you receive your gift, let your Santa know that it has arrived. Please be gracious if you receive something you don't like. Thank your Santa, or one of the elves will keelhaul you (I think we all know which one).

When you sign up, you'll need to let us know the identities of your past three victims. If you don't remember who they were, you can find the threads here: http://www.matazone.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=15351&st=0&p=375569&#entry375569, http://www.matazone.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=15282&st=0&p=374506&#entry374506, and http://www.matazone.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=15187&st=0&p=371899&#entry371899.

I think that's everything! PM me if you have any questions/concerns/chocolate/praise that can't go in the thread.

And I'm serious about that switch, people. Don't test me and my evil elves.

So...

Name: Candice
Previous Victim(s): gothictheysay, Cath, and Froggy.
Likes/Dislikes: Ever since this started, I've just asked for something to amuse me, and it has yet to fail me. I hate anything banana or cherry flavoured, should Santa feel like sending me food. Oh, and I'm a vegetarian, though I don't know why you'd send me meat. Never hurts to be sure, though. I harbour fantasies about moving to some remote location to become a beekeeper/hermit. Right now I'm in the process of eliminating bulky possessions so moving house isn't such a pain in my bottom; things that don't take up an amazing amount of space would be appreciated. smile.gif

Time's up!

You all* should get a PM with your victim's name and address soon. Please bear in mind that half of the victims are being sent out by an elf in the Pacific Time Zone, so those of you on her list will get a PM a bit later than those on my half.

One of us will post here when all of the victims have been sent out.

*Well, almost all of you. Unfortunately, there was one person who failed to send me an address. sad.gif Had to leave you out, sorry.

Posted by: LoLo Nov 26 2013, 01:25 AM

Assuming Phyllis has sent out her victims (which I'm guessing she has because I have gotten mine), you should all have your victim.

If anyone has not received a victim (that submitted an address) please PM Phyllis or myself so we can sort this out and face palm.

Food can be done, just keep in mind that it takes around a week or more for a package to arrive depending on size.

The shipping also gets very expensive very quickly, so we often recommend ordering from amazon.co.uk or some place similar and having it shipped straight to the person to save on shipping.

Unfortunately that last part takes a bit of the fun of personalization of packaging and what not out, so depending on your budget and what you want to do, it's up to you.

I spent 60 once to send a very awesome personalized gift. laugh.gif

Dearest Cath,

Three parcels are currently winging their way towards you, courtesy of a handsy postman who, if Santa is not mistaken, has a thing for tubby, bearded fellows. I feel I must warn you: Mrs Claus has been playing too much Monkey Island and fancies herself a northern version of the Voodoo Lady. She placed a curse on your parcels. Something horrible will happen unless you open all three at the same time. I'm not entirely sure what, mind, but it's probably best not to risk it. Mrs Claus has a devilish imagination and rather a lot of time on her hands. The last time Santa crossed her, he ended up installing a toilet in his sleigh late one Christmas Eve (don't ask).

Hoping your Christmas is merry and not at all full of curses,

S. Claus, Esq.

I thought I'd toss this in this thread even though it's not really Secret Santa.
If you fancy a christmas card could you please PM me your address?
I'm just curious if anyone will.

Merry Christmas / Seasonal Happiness to all.

Rule-breaker!! *shaky fisty*
I suppose this is true. Overseas shipping of even tiny, light things quickly becomes prohibitively pricey. Off I go to troll the Amazon!

Lololo!

*Ahem* I mean.... Hohoho! LoLo! As you know this time of the year is hectic for me! Your gift may arrive slightly late, but definitely before next year. The elves are working on relocating us to the South Pole... Something about ice caps melting and there not actually being any land mass up here.

Ashbless!

You shall soon be *blessed* (ho ho ho!) with two separate gifts! Santa went on a hunch, so he hopes he guessed correctly that you will enjoy these fine things. As always, though, the elves couldn't seem to get themselves together, so you may get one a ways before the other. Merry Christmas!

I never imagined I would have to do this, but I am not at all happy with being trolled for SS. Rattagirl decided to send me pea candles.

Cand, Lo, please don't ever give me her as a giftee, nor to receive SS presents from again. sleep.gif

Edit: Given it in to a charity shop.

Posted by: Secret Santa Dec 5 2013, 09:45 AM

Ryn,

I'm making your present myself this year, as the elves aren't to be trusted. I'm doing my best to finish it before the last posting date for Christmas, but it may be a very close thing. I'll let you know if it's going to be terribly late!

Love,
Santa

Posted by: Secret Santa Dec 5 2013, 07:01 PM

On the subject of manufacturing... Mata, the elves that aren't creating Ryn's gift have gone to fetch the components for your exotic present. Due to the awesomeness of this offering to you, the overlord, my elves are telling me that it might be a little late getting to you. Mainly because it's awesome. Or terrible. Or made of very, very flighty bees.

Posted by: Secret Santa Dec 6 2013, 10:35 PM

Greetings to Rattgirl!

Your present is currently in the post using the Amazon elves. Due to the way these things work out you will be getting two packages. The first will be gift wrapped but the second won't be because postage elves are lame. One present might actually be for your little monkey but the second will most definitely be for you to play with. Happy Christmas!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/zzjxtpaeokmosse/2013-12-16%2011.40.47.jpg are the creepiest earrings I have ever received, and I adore them!

And the parcel also contained https://www.dropbox.com/s/mtprxn3gyf3wnvj/2013-12-16%2011.41.54.jpg! I think I shall make them into a charm bracelet. And there was tape for making stripy nail art, too! And lots and LOTS of glitter.

THANK YOU, FROGGY! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif I love my gifts! <3

Thanks for the note Santa - I'll be sure to be patient - you should go easy on those elves, maybe having to decapitate their brethren for Cand's gifts have left them shakey and in need of a stiff drink wink.gif

Moop Moop Moopity Moop, Moop Moop Moop

The Elves I drafted in from the tropical equator jungle place have finally recovered from their frostbite and started working - they've even packed up the fiddly bits nicely despite minor setbacks and loss of fingers.

I've issued instruction for your delivery to be made post haste by my handy Elf Logistics Corp., and you should in fact receive have delivery made tomorrow. I'll know if it's been signed for - I see everything...

YAY! Thank you Santa! I uploaded some pics to my Facebook of one of the kittens discovering their new toys smile.gif Star Wars Yoda, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and Stormtrooper mice! I'll put other pics up here later, but I just spent a couple hours driving in snow... great to come back to this though smile.gif They are playing with them right now and love them already! Also a free small food sample for when they get hungry.

You're the best Santa! I have no idea who you are.

Mooooooop & Phylliscand,

You're confusing Santa's logistics corp... or maybe just Santa the voices aren't sure.

18-Dec-2013 12:13 Completed Delivered - Moops Surname
19-Dec-2013 10:21 Completed Delivered - Phyllis's Surname

There was only one package issued to Moop Industries yet I've received two notifications of delivery/signature over two days - can you clarify whether you received the one parcel or do I need to fire some folk?

Kind regards, your friendly world-y-hood SantaMan

Posted by: Phyllis Dec 19 2013, 05:18 PM

Yup, it arrived this morning. biggrin.gif Don't know why it said "completed delivered" on the 18th. That is a filthy lie. At least one of us was here all day, and they didn't ring the bell!

Moop was out when the parcel arrived, so I signed for it, and they asked my surname. That's probably where the confusion came from. The deliveryman also got the joy of seeing me in my dressing gown, as I'd been running around the house in a crazy rush after we overslept. Merry early Christmas to him.

The gift hasn't been opened yet, since moop still isn't home. He shouldn't be too much longer, though!

Dear Santa,

Thank you for my awesome present. I look forward to constructing my very own owl and never being short of Parma Violets for the next few months/weeks/days/seconds, assuming my self control holds up. biggrin.gif

Yours,
moop

Dear Ryn,

Santa is distraught. So distraught he is talking in the third person. That ends now.

I attempted to make you a floating cross-stitch necklace of a TARDIS. I've been waiting and waiting for the resin to cure, but it looks like I did something wrong with it. The outside is remaining sticky. sad.gif

https://www.dropbox.com/s/s9usb2cdmmw4y6k/2013-12-17%2011.39.18.jpg is how it came out. If the stupid thing ever solidifies, I'll send it along to you. If it doesn't, I'll make another and send that one as a surprise sometime in the future. And I WILL conquer the resin next time. Oh yes I will.

In the meantime, I'm going to make you something else for your Secret Santa gift. Should be posting it tomorrow, unless more crafty items try to destroy me.

Love,
Emo Santa xx

Dear Wittles,

I see you when you're sleeping. I know when you're awake. I know when you've been talking about your lack of a gift on IRC.

I promise it's on its way. As I said before, it's coming from one of Santa Conglomerate's overseas offices. International waters are choppy at this time of year, and elves make soft targets for pirates. It takes six of them to hold a harpoon gun to defend themselves.

Yours,
Santa,
CEO,
Santa Conglomerate of the World

Dearest Mata, Overlord and Protector of stuff,
The recently privatised Elves have just sent me an electronic mail to inform me that they've totally buggered up your stuff in transit, and are returning it to the North Pole with their heads hung in shame. This, of course means, that I'm going to have to resort to sweatshop tactics in order to get a new gift to you before Christmas. This is unethical, but I'm going to give it my best shot.

Christmas Regards (I hate Parcel Force)

Santa

Dear Wittles,

Santa Conglomerate's overseas office finally delivered... sort of. sad.gif The elves have received a good flogging. You'll know why when you see your gift. It was ordered from Santa Conglomerate's minions at etsy, and they very much overstated their competence. The relevant seller has received a complaint, and Santa Conglomerate is going to send you a second gift to make up for their utter crapness. The first gift has been sent along to you. Hope it doesn't damage your eyes or your sanity too much. Let us know when it gets there, and we at Santa Conglomerate will show you what it was SUPPOSED to look like. Then we can rage together, and a happy holiday will be had by all.

Yours,
Santa,
CEO,
Santa Conglomerate of the Universe (we're expanding)

EDIT: Second gift should be with you on Monday!

Dearest Mr Smiler,

Do I need to give the delivery elves a good kicking or have you received your gift and kept it secret?

HoHoHo-ping!
A slightly concerned Santa

Yaaay! biggrin.gif I'm so glad you like it! <3 And that it arrived in one piece! I may have been a bit excessive with the packaging, out of paranoia.

Posted by: Smiler Dec 27 2013, 10:17 AM

Most wonderful Santa, thank you for my pressies.

Apologies for the delay in confirming, I had to collect from the post office and then wanted to take a photo, but haven't been able to get to it.

Noise maker and mischief making catapult equals one mischievous holiday ahead. Photo to follow.

Can't fathom your identity either you secretive monkey you.

Thank you smile.gif
