Ok, I've had a meeting with the social sec and the only weekend they're available out of Moops set is the 19th-21st November so we're pencilled in for then. All those in favour say "Aye!" and I'll figure out what I need to drive abroad. 19th is the Friday btw, I was presuming that at least some people would go over on the Friday night. Chunnel is every half an hour and we can get a car for £78, which is probably cheaper than the bus or train including the petrol which would be approx £40. Split 5 ways thats £32 a head.

Right, headcount please and the car is first come, first served.

That'll be interesting, I'll see what I can do about the Friday but it should be okay. What time are people thinking of travelling?

So a lot of you already know this, but for those who don't, I'm going to be in the UK for pretty much all of January (I leave the 24th). I thought I'd put that out there if anyone wanted to hang while I'm there. If not, that's cool too.

I was thinking today about suggesting Feb half-term to fit in with the teaching peeps, but Jan is just as good. I've got some of the car stuff I'll need off Cath's parents so I'll just check I can hang on to it for an extra couple of months.

Any date suggestions? Just cause the earlier we get to this bit the easier it is in the long run.

Lo: if you fancy this then it's up to you - I won't be offended if you don't fancy it, in which case we'll stick to the half-term hol in February, but if you do want to do this then pick a weekend when you're free.

I like the idea and if other people are up for it, I would be as well. I'm just not sure who could afford the time and money to do it and it seems like (at least for transportation) it's something that would be a bit more affordable with the more people willing. It would be cool to add another country notch to my umm bedpost?

I'm also in the teaching boat and can't take time off outside of school holidays. I don't get back from Chicago until 7th January (leave on 5th December) so could do 15-16th January or last weekend in January but then Lo's not here. I'm busy on 22-23rd at the mo.

As far as this trip goes, you guys should schedule it for when you want to go. If it works best for when I'm there, that's cool, if not then that's cool too.
