My goodness, it's rather good. I've been playing for several hours, done very little, but had a great time sneaking around and bonking people on the head. I can't wait to play more!

I've sunk about 40 hours into the game before completing it the first time on Easy. Now I'm going for the "Give Me Deus Ex" difficulty and the stealth achievements (got it for PS3). That means that I'm not allowed to be spotted by a guard, camera or robot even once. Yeah, hardcore.

Argh... That sounds ridiculously difficult. I thought about it briefly, but decided against it.

I finally finished it and felt a bit underwhelmed by the ending. For all of the brilliance it didn't really build into anything very epic at the end.

I'd have to agree, it's a bit of an anti climax. And I wasn't terribly impressed with the bossfights, but I guess thats what happens when you outsource certain parts of a game :S

That was a bit of a strange choice on their part, but I did get through the boss fights without too much trouble. The first one in particular was a breeze once I discovered you could throw the exploding barrels at him. When will these bosses learn that they should lock away their bright red barrels and not have fights in their vicinity?

Rant? I never rant... I expound biggrin.gif

Well, maybe I rant about Twilight occasionally, and possibly Halo, and Harry Potter... But I do try to keep those rants to only once per-class (please stop me if I repeat myself)!

Anyway, there's discussion of exploding barrels in LU3 and I wouldn't want to get ahead of myself.

I'm going to take a guess and say that in LU3 you're gonna say barrels can't explode when you shoot them, and you shouldn't have that in games? tongue.gif To get back on track, with games where they somehow go terribly wrong I always wonder if the producers/designers have actually played the game and just have massive tunnelvision or if they just ignore it.

You have much to learn, young padwan. There are very good reasons that bad games are released, but if you think otherwise then I look forward to your consistent 10/10 grades for gamelab. tongue.gif

Well, not to brag, but my team got some very nice compliments from the panel, including the grumpy Scotsman. And I'm not saying all our games are going to be flawless, just not as flawed as some games that clearly should have died an early death.

Kept an eye on it since the first trailer, but as soon as I saw stealth gameplay, I was instantly put off.

But a friend go it, and convinced me it wasn't a stealth game. So I got it, and realised he'd been lieing, grr...

Gave it a go though, and eventually really enjoyed being sneaky sneaky. Until... Barrett. Why oh why put a generic, and stupidly hard, boss fight in a game like this? Gave up trying to kill him, haven't touched it since.

Depending on what augmentations you have he's really quite easy. My first playthrough was very combat focused so I had the Typhoon, used that two times and Barret was dead. Of course you could use other weapons. For the other bosses I mainly used the Heavy Machine gun/Grenade Launcher. And it's not just a stealth game tongue.gif

Barret is a push over once you work out how to do it - stun him with anything you've got (gas grenade, shock gun, that kind of thing) pick up a nearby explosive barrel and throw it at him. Repeat that about four or five times and he's gone. It takes about 30 seconds!

I probably went into it badly prepared by the sounds of things.

No typhoon, grenade launchers, or anything to stun him with.

That, and I don't know how to throw things...

You use whatevers your use key to pick it up and throw away. Not sure if you need the strength aug.

No, no strength aug needed for that one.

The save point is outside of the room, so you can always backtrack and find a couple of grenades to throw at him. While he stumbles around you can chuck barrels at him. Think of it as an inverse Donkey Kong.
