I've Lost Weight!, finally. Options

I am happy to report a weight loss of about eight pounds...8-10, I don't remember. All I know is when I put my information in that BMI calculator, my BMI was less - 24.2, actually in the normal range! Before I was about a point and a half overweight. I'm still planning to lose more, but I'm still eating full meals - it's probably because I'm getting more exercise, it being nicer outside and all. During winter I only go outside if I have to most of the time. I'm not going to change my eating patterns - well, I'm cutting down on cookies - 'till I'm older. Right now I'm 5'4" and 141 pounds, and I feel great. I can fit in last year's shorts!

I've been losing weight recently too, it's a lot more work now I'm in my late twenties than it was a few years ago, but fortunately I've kept in reasonable shape so I had a fairly reasonable starting point. Sues is dieting at the moment for a wedding we're going to in a few months, so of course I end up on the diet food too!

apparently I've gotten skinnier...I have no idea what I was before or what I am now so I can't really tell but having to walk about a mile to college and back every day probably helps...also I live pretty much on pasta and toast which probably can't be good for me but it's the only thing I like at the moment...apart from the ocassional pizza or trip to greggs!

Be glad you don't have to go through it. At least, not just yet. Almost all of my uncles were skinny as rakes when they were younger, and couldn't seem to gain weight. Now that they're around middle age, they all have beer bellies.

Anyway, congrats, Gothic! I've lost about that much too so far, but meh I've probably gained it back by now (I've been rather bad recently). I'm supposed to lose 20 lbs by December or else it's another year of blood thinners for me. Plus, I really want to lose weight. I've been heavy since...hmm. Around 3rd grade I guess is when I started getting pudgy. I need to move back to NY..lol. The air might not have been so good for my lungs, and being surrounded by so many people all the time drove me nuts, but all that walking and all the rice that my grandma-in-law shoved down my throat made a difference. I lost 50 lbs during the 7 months I lived there. Probably would have been more if I hadn't gone and bought Ben & Jerry's ice cream on a regular basis.

I haven't been in the normal range of weight since I was wrestling. I was in the best shape of my life my first two years wrestling. Now, heh. That's likely. Not only do I have bad metabolism, but since I'm bipolar, my metabolism is pushed down even more while on meds. Throw comfort eating into the equasion and you have one fat bastard. I just look at a French fry and gain five pounds. If you find yourself losing weight, God bless you. THere are those of us who can't.

How'd you do it? I've tried literally everything from diet pills, to crazy diets, to normal nutritional diets, to binging and purging.

on top of that I exersize at least 2 hours a day - and the two hours consist of a lot of aerobic not to mention cals either

I guess I've just been blessed with a crappy metabolism. I'm in good shape though just not very thin...

That's awesome, gothic. Dieting really is hell and I've really got to admire anyone who can do it... I've tried a few times (not for health, I'm just a vain bastard) and the only time I did keep at it for any length of time was when I was really walking the diet/eating disorder line. Having said that, I admire anyone with the willpower to lose weight, especially for health reasons... I couldn't. I just ate tons of chocolate, and here I am talking about health. Ha.

i keep meaning to eat more healthily, but i always seem to eat junk food instead. it's just so much easier *sighs*
i need to do sit-ups and stuff to tone myself up for bikini-time...which is too close for comfort...

Well, while I was in the hospital (check my newest thread) I didn't eat so well...

The food there was rather crappy. upon returning, we went out to Wendy's. However, I now weigh about the same, but my stomach is smaller. My roommate at the hospital taught me how to do some cool stomach crunches - she had a four-pack!! I'll be needing some belts for my jeans, probably. Thanks you guys for all the congrats, my dad just shoved a doughnut hole in my mouth and I'm drinking the remains of my Frosty, but other than some ice cream I want later it's back to healthy food. Er, yaaay.
