QUOTE (Play-Doh Hobbes @ Dec 7 2010, 02:50 PM) *
For those that are sending mail from the UK, the last posting dates for Christmas are as follows:

Within the UK:
Standard Parcel - Wed 15 Dec
2nd Class - Sat 18 Dec
1st Class - Tue 21 Dec
Parcelforce 48 - Wed 22 Dec
Parcelforce Next Day - Thu 23 Dec
Special Delivery™ - Thu 23 Dec

International Airmail:
USA & Canada - Fri 10 Dec
Western Europe - Mon 13 Dec

I think that should cover all areas, for those posting from the UK.

Bear in mind that problems can occur, and our beautiful postal service can drag its feet from time to time, so the earlier the better of course!

If those "in the know" wish to share the last dates for posting FROM the US/Canada, then go for it smile.gif

What about those in the US huh? You just care about shipping rates in the UK huh! buttmonkey ;P

Well, I did suggest someone "in the know" does so! Since I am not familiar with how the US postage service works...

maybe you should do it, you fruitloop!

Dear Tigerlily

Despite the fact that I told the elves to start work on your gift a week ago, they still have no word on when anything's actually going to happen. Probably due to the bloody unions, of course they've got to work extra hours at Christmas, it's the only time of the year they do any work! *ahem* anyway, the point is unless they can pull their fingers out and get cracking, it may be some time before you receive said gift. Terribly sorry.

Dear Santa,

I was somewhat confused by your choice of giving me massive food poisoning for Christmas. "Have I been THAT naughty?", I asked myself. I was then very thankful to realize that you had also given me the means to destroy it with swift lasery justice.

Dear Sarah,

The elves have gotten into the liquor again, the little lushes. I imagine they will have slept their hangovers off by Saturday, though, at which point your gift will be on its way to you!

Love,
Santa xoxo

P.S: Why don't you ever sit on my lap anymore? wink.gif

Dear Naughty Spoon,

Although the elves were supposed to pick up the necessary items for your gift, they have yet to inform me that they have done so. At this time I am forced to assume it will not make it to you on time. As I am quite old I also will probably not be able to accurately get the present down your chimney at the speed I must move these days. How visible is your porch from 20,000 ft?

Despite all the small print on the naughty list, the elves have found you something anyway. biggrin.gif

Dearest Elphaba,

It was wonderful to have your Christmas wishlist arrive here at the North Pole this year, and it certainly made up for the awful problems we've been having at Santa-camp: elf-and-safety inspections, no-eyed (rein)deer, polar bears covering their noses, hemespherically-confused penguins paying a visit, and a moose loose about my hoose. I even walked in on Mrs Claus blowing a seal...

...but I think the engine is up and running again now, so all is well.

Regardless, I did my best to meet all your requirements, and a gift is on its way to you.

Merry Christmas!

Ho Ho Ho -ho - oh dear.

Moop my boy, we blew a gasket in the Santamobile and the elves are looking into repairs, but it's my belief that your gift will be a bit late this time around. Not to worry, you've been a very good boy this year!

Ho Ho Ho,

The last survivor of Santa's once proud force of spy vessels has limped back to harbor bearing news of the Dread Pirate Cath and her horde of swarthy buccaneers. Despite the carnage Santa has received a signed letter certifying that the Dread Pirate has been a good girl this year, although the signature appears to be a bullet hole in this case.

A sled full of our toughest elves and a decoy Santa has been armored up and dispatched bearing your gift. Santa's workshop begs for your mercy and hopes you afford it safe passage. They're expensive to salvage (all the armor makes them hell to raise) and the elves can take months to dry out!

Yours in fear,
Santa's Workshop

Dearest snoo,

The elves have informed me that both parts of your present have left the gift containment center and should have arrived by now. Is this true or do I need to whip the elves again?

Sincerely,

Ho ho ho!

MATA! Your gift is on its merry little way after some annoying mishaps at the post office. It's also running late due to the elves being audited for leaks! We were worried that *something* about the "location" of our China North Pole factories made its way into the hands of Julian Assange, but fear not we've confirmed that all suspected elves have been burned at the stake!

With barbecued love,
Santa

Ho Ho Ho! Let me see here... *adjusts tiny glasses* Aha! Candice, my dear lass! Not to worry, you've been a very good girl this year (except for that toad... but he had it coming), and will be receiving your present shortly! However, the elves are so enamored with it that it may take them a day longer to detach their grubby little paws from it. Hopefully it will still reach yours truly before Christmas!

Seasons greetings,
Santa

That's okay. For some reason I was thinking of the other day about this and had a feeling this may happen. I've been having crap luck with a few things since start of this year including technology and work politics. I'm pointing my finger at mother karma being moody lately unsure.gif Anyway I know you will try your best. I'm just glad I got all my stuff out early before December hit >_> lol.

Santa, I'm teary. That was too wonderful. I felt like a four-year old--the magic and mystery of Christmas right from the strange man walking up my stairs and cheerily handing it off (it was an oddly forward and strangely late-night postman) to the last tiny, tightly wrapped surprise. I think I got it all...

Wow. Thank you so much--the most wonderful, beautiful thing to receive. Completely gave me the guts to start making other people happy to the fullest extent I can. I really hope you don't mind if I share some of the things with people who I know would love them--the thoughtfulness with which you gave them is such an ENORMOUS gift in itself.

But I will have to keep the stunning maracas for myself.

Dearest Elphaba,

Everybody at Santa HQ is very pleased to hear that your gifts arrived safely, and that you enjoyed them so much. It was quite a task arranging to have that special late-night postman deliver, I can tell you!

The Christmas spirit certainly allows you to share presents around, and I am happy in the knowledge that you enjoyed your goodies so much smile.gif
