We've had one example where someone found a person they were looking for through these forums... Which was a bit odd, but actually worked out really well in the end. I won't go into details because it was a private thing.

On a slightly serious note, even if a person asks you out and you're not interested, bear in mind that asking people out is (for most people) a really nerve-racking thing to do. I was never any good at it, but after a while I discovered that the worst someone could say was 'no'; however, I doubt any of those people had been advised to threaten me with rocks when I asked them out. It's a whole new world...

Err...

The moral is 'try to be vaguely nice about saying "no", but make sure you get the message across'.

Don't think I have to anymore. Somehow he got the message, and asked Steph out instead. She was all "Eww, Carlos, no!" and then he walked off. Too bad, it really would've been a funny video. On the bright side, Steph can finally have the tuna I've been carrying around for the last few days.

After my last tangle with the no-meat bunch I decided that never again would an innocent animal die for my supper. Since then I've eaten only vegetarians.
