I was thinking, as quite a few people have Live Journal accounts if there are anyone with Dead Journal accounts. I was thinking of getting one, though if I could find an invite code then that'll be easier, but not sure if its much better than LJ and I shouldn't bother. I've always wanted a blog but never got round to it and DJ seems much more my thing.

I made one once. It just happened to be the same night my parents were checking the history of the comp because they had suspicions of what I did on the comp for so long. They found it and being parents they were naturally shocked and went on about me being a goth
 Whatever they say.... *sigh*. So yer, I haven't been on it since.

I've never bothered, since weblogs are very much a community thing, and all my friends with weblogs are on Livejournal.

I like having somewhere to write my thoughts and things, I'd lose them if I wrote them down as I'm not organised. But typing them up is my thing and a weblog sounds pretty neat. Not that anyone would read it as I wouldn't link it but I'd like to just have something there for me to look back on.

Isn't DJ lust LJ with a different name/server?
If you want an instant friend list then go LJ because loads of people from here are with LJ, if you don't really want anyone to read it then go with DJ, or get an LJ and make all the entries private. -------------------- |

you can change your layout and customise it with lj just as much as with a dj so it can look however you want it (if you know how to do it)

I've got a Blurty...but i never use it. i used to be heavy into the whole blurty/live journal thing, but then it turns out my neighbor was using the schedule i put up on my blurty ('oh, i'm going here today')

You can get it for free, just you need to know someone in it, like Gmail codes, you can invite a certain amount of people in for free.

All this blog stuff.
What is it. Do people actually read others' diaries? I cannot imagine anybody being interested in the day to day living of an ordinary person. By that I mean people who do not climb Everest or set some record or are very brave and get medals. Would any of you really want to share all your thoughts and actions with total strangers? Misty Rain - just going to have a shower then a bacon butty and a coffee in the docks then see some guys about putting some monochrome negatives onto CDs then try on some shoes at Cribbs Causeway then come back and process some film after dinner. |

I think of it more of concentrating on your own blog and occationally looking at someone elses to see how they are.
It can be a helpful indicator as to if someone isn't feeling all that positive or is unwell. A blog can be more insightful than seeing someone and talking to them. I know if I was feeling really low the temptation to post something about it is greater than the temptation to tell a friend and I could use a little help. Also its fun.
