Hate it.
Although, strangely, the marmite flavour Walkers crisps aren't too awful. Better than the real thing, that is. But then, most crisp flavours aren't anything like the real thing. -------------------- |

QUOTE (Polocrunch @ Mar 30 2004, 09:53 PM) *Disparaging look at Hobbes* My favourite type of look. Marmite smells gross. So when people eat it, they smell of it. And thus smell gross. It's simple really. And I don't like the crisps either, they are just less gross -------------------- |

We do get Marmite in Oz. We also have Vegemite which is more or less the same thing, but tastes better. Then there's Promite, which I think is American and tastes better than the other two

We don't get marmite in the US. I had to null my vote because of this. However, I believe my right breast is named after marmite and my left is named bovril. I think Fuzzy said it was bovril because it's more meaty.

And like Lo said, we don't have Marmite. Or Vegemite. Or anything even close to what people have told me they are. Though, you could probably find it in some specialty shops. But it's definitely not common. So, I nulled my vote too. -------------------- I love you in a way that is mystical and eternal and illegal in 20 states.

It's a yeast...thing, Americans. It's a very dark brown, and tastes like somebody mixed some vegetables and yeast and salt into a sort of gunk. Which, more or less, is how it's made. Love the stuff.

The only exposure I've had to marmite or vegemite was at camp, since all the Australians were obsessed with it, and I'm American. I don't remember tasting it, but the smell was... bad... It stunk up our whole cabin, because we had 5 counselors that were Australian, and all their marmite AND vegemite.
