Listen you lot, just to set the record straight I think you'll find that the distinctive "Brummy" accent you are referring to is actually more a Dudley or Wolverhmapton accent. You know, like the one Lenny Henry puts on when he's taking the p*ss! True Brummies do have a slight 'twang' to their voice not unlike WeeJ's however she is from Tamworth and Tamworth is in Staffordshire and NOT Birmingham! I lived in Brum for 4 years and people from Birmingham don't all talk like they are permanently depressed......although they should be as they live in Birmingham!!!! I'm only joking, I actually really love the place.

There's nothing technically wrong with coming from Birmingham. But I don't actually have much of a brummy twang. Only when I'm annoyed or excited.
Birmingham's not a bad place, but when you meet someone with a thick brummy accent, its hard not to giggle. Especially when they say 'alright'
