A late night conversation led to the following question.
Which was the willyest, and most powerful witch in OZ? The wicked witch of the East ?? was smushed by a farmhouse, yes? Glinda the Good comes to investigate the power that did it. Immediately sets up a conflict with the new power and the witch of the west. Also sends off the newcomer to confront the wizard of the South. Results? East Witch smushed West Witch liquified South Wizard disposed of by balloon. Then and only then does Glinda tell Dorothy that she could've gone back home anytime. Dorthy, the new power, dispatched back home. So - Glinda IS good, she's very good. Power behind Ozma's throne? Hate to burst your bubble, but Emerald City was smack dab centre, not south. If you're going by the movie, West is more evil. Glinda says, "She's [Wicked Witch of the West] worse than the other one [East]." So that answers your question of who is the wickedest... As for the most powerful, I'd go by the book's definition here. Glinda, the Sorceress of the South, is by far presented as the most powerful of the four witches. The unnamed good witch of the north is pretty minor, and Dorothy managed to knock off both of the two wicked witches in a rather short period of time. ... You are all way off. Oz's girlfriend Willow is clearly the wickedest witch. I mean, c'mon, she nearly destroyed the world.
</spam> Okay, I don't know about wickedest but the strongest of the evil ones is definitely the WWotE. It took a house falling on her to kill her, and her magical footgear to kill her. Where as the WWotW was killed by mere water, not even holy water. |
