Cand was the cool girl in class so did things like find cool computer wallpaper for the other students and she would make a big show about giving it to them, but excluding me. Pretty much nobody in the class, except the girl next to me liked me, because of Cand's disdain.

Yeesh! Dream-Cand is a douche!

Last night, I dreamed that we were doing a repeat of the Glasgow meet from five years ago in honour of Lo's visit. She brought her car over (in her luggage?!) and drove Ste and I up there. For some reason, Tarantio had us all meet on the seventh floor of a building that had no lifts or stairs. To get up there, you either had to climb a rope ladder that hung out of a window, or you had to drive your car into the side of the building really, really fast. Lo and Ste both thought the ladder sounded like loads of fun, but I started freaking out and crying because I was terrified. I managed to convince them to do the driving method instead.

Because driving into a brick wall at 70 miles per hour is less frightening than climbing a ladder. Obviously.

I'm not sure why, but Ste's gran was there. I spent the whole meet talking to her about airplanes while everyone else got drunk. She kept offering me bacon sandwiches.

A magic bag that could fit my car would be awesome! Also that definitely is a dream, because I never go \o/ ladders! In fact if I have to go up higher than 2 or 3 steps on a ladder, I pretty much freak.

Took me a while to recall this today, but I dreamt last night that I was driving through my village at night, and all the streetlights were off. I noticed that most of the house's lights were also off, and assumed that there was a power cut. I then was suddenly at home, in daylight, and stepped outside my door. As I walked around to my car, I went round a fenced-off area that had a shed inside. I suddenly thought, "Oh... so this is what my other key is for! I have a shed! Excellent!" and I started to plan what stuff to keep in it, so that I would have more storage space inside my home.

During an evening nap*:

I look in the mirror, to see that my hairline has receded somewhat. I am panicked by this, knowing that I am losing my hair, but not realising the extent to which it is going. I pull at strands, to see how easily they come out, and end up with clumps of long strands (despite my short hair) in my hand. As I look in the mirror again, I see that my hair seems to stop halfway, and the front of my scalp just has tiny little clusters of hair - like mini-afro's. I grow more and more distressed by my increasing hair-loss, and start to share it with people in IRC...

* a nap which, for once, did only last an hour or two and not the accidental 12 or 13 hours that seems to occur when I lay down for "just a minute"

Me again smile.gif

I remember a very small part of a dream, where a friend turns up at my house without notice, and I find myself shocked by it.

Um, that's all I remember of that.

My other dream featured an old work colleague and his very large family. I forget a lot of the details, but I was sneaking around my old home town (where, randomly, they were living) trying to both gain access to their house, and escape from it, whilst pretending to be their friends. There were many instances of being "caught", or "seen", or having to run away. But I really don't remember why I was doing it.

Stupid driving dreams! I can never slow down enough to make an exit in these ones. I'm always going too fast even when I want to slow down. And I mean I passed out for a solid five hours or so, so really, wtf. It was pretty much five hours of those.

Oh, and I got a bunch of souvenirs from the beach (stuff I picked up myself, not bought), including an ice block of several mini squid? Only one was bumpy, but you could see a bunch of them, and little fish in the thing too...

This may be slightly jumbled and might not make any sense. It still doesn't make much sense in my head, in spite of being awake for a few hours now. blink.gif

Last night, I had a dream that I suddenly remembered that I'd given a baby up for adoption when I was 14. What caused the sudden jog of my memory? Seeing that the baby in question was now old enough for Facebook.

According to the dream, my friend's younger sister was really my biological daughter. She'd been adopted by my friend's parents. How this would manage to slip my mind, I have no idea. Anyway, Dream-Cand and Dream-snoo had the following conversation:

Me: "My daughter is on Facebook. I feel old."
snoo: "You have a daughter?! Since when?"
Me: "Since I was 14. Her name is Alexis—"
snoo: "Oooh, I love that name!"

After that, the name became snoo's biggest concern. Haha. She was upset that I couldn't remember the middle name that Alexis's parents chose for her, and she was disgusted when I told her that if I would've kept the baby, her name would not have been Alexis.

So, I added Alexis (who really exists, by the way, but is definitely not my child) as a friend on Facebook. She started a chat with me right away and asked who her biological father was. I told her, "The best guess I have is a guy named Bobby, but that can't be right. I could've sworn I was a virgin until I was 18."

Way to be consistent, subconscious.

Well. That was certainly odd. huh.gif

I just woke up from a dream in which a certain Froggy was trying to convince me to make IRC more interesting. Her plan involved me faking childbirth. How was I going to do this? Well, it involved a dead chicken...

After doing some reading for English about illegal immigration from Mexico to the US, I dreamed that I went to Mexico on vacation, only to have the border guards refuse to let me back into the US because they didn't like the way I looked. I spent the rest of the dream chilling in a Mexico border town with a bunch of English-speaking mexicans in mariachi clothing and giant sombreos. They made pinatas for a living, and allowed me to sleep in their pinata shop for a few nights while I tried to think of a plan.

I ended up locating a tunnel that led to El Paso, and my new-found pinata making friends and I escaped back to America.

While they were really happy about it in the dream, my English teacher was less than enthusiasic when I brought it up in debate this morning. Odd.

I had a dream sometime in the last week that the black guy from Color Me Badd was trying to get me to show him my boobs. I'm surprised I didn't and I'm sure 12 year old me would be sooooo disappointed in me for not doing so because she was just enamoured with him.

Hi guys,

I had a very very very very long and intensive dream, but there was one thing that I think
was very friendly and nice, although it sounds romantic in some ways.
______________________________________________________________________________
It was some kind of festival and there were lots of people I know. Someone comes out of the back of on of the buildings, that ended up on the small grass field.
He had a paper in his hand and it looked like he wanted to leave, and maybe go home to the one he loves. He was whistling and he seemed happy but a bit tired. I don't know why but he walked into a little curve, apparently so he could give a hug.
He was holding me very tight, as like he needed a hug.
I asked him how he was and he responded with that he was fine, but that he wished that he could be more honest to people.
That made me curious and I asked,'What is it, that you always wanted to say to me?',
he waited for a short time before his answer and his mouth reached near my ears and said,'I can't dance'.
As I was a little afraid of some critique I started to smile and I told him it was easy, and that it is just about fun.

I grabbed one of his hands and started twirling like we where doing the Walsh.
We both laughed, it was like we both had to much to deal with and that it fell off our shoulders
for one moment.....

______________________________________________________________________________

I really liked it, I hope you do to.

Although, recently, I have not woken up with any memory of my night's dreams, there often comes a time when I get a glut of dreams that have a similar 'feeling' as the one you described.

It usually features a member of the opposite sex, and we develop a strong emotional bond with one another. It can be entirely friendly, or loving, or sexual, but there is also an overriding feeling of contentment; like having found someone I have been forever in search of.

Upon waking, and realising that it was all just a dream, I get a few brief seconds where this feeling continues, and then it dissipates into a sadness that can be awfully troublesome to shake off.

I marvel at a dream's lasting effects.

Alright, so Hobbes started the depressing dream stuff first, so I don't feel as bad continuing. I won't go too much into detail though, because it is quite depressing.

My mother passed away when I was ten. I have a lot of dreams about her, for some reason, and I do have a decent amount of memories but the amount I dream about her is interesting, since it still happens often to this day even though I don't think about her as much as I used to. Recently I was feeling sort of guilty about doing something, and my mother appeared in a dream and was disappointed in me. My conclusions from this were 1. weird, especially since she had a lot of hair (chemotherapy treatments left her with little during most of the time I remember) and seemed very young, and 2. I have a really nasty subconscious/superego thing going on, apparently. The something I did wasn't the smartest idea, but it didn't really make any difference.

I think the first sentence answers the second sentence's 'question'.

I don't dream that much about my mother. I don't think any of the characters in my dreams are more frequent than others; it often seems as though I have randomly plucked people from my memories, just for someone to fulfill a required role in the performance. Actually, if I start to think about it, the most notable person that I don't recall ever dreaming about is my dad. That does seem odd...

I recall some of a dream I had late this morning, and I'm sure I've dreamt parts of it before quite recently.

-

I am walking deeper into a wooded area. There is plenty of daylight, and it summer. Looking through the gaps between the trees, I can see a tiny cottage, and I am aware that this is the home of a witch. She wanders around nearby, with a silver-tabby cat running ahead of her. I pick up a stone, and throw it near her - wanting to attract her attention, but also incredibly frightened. She looks up as the stone lands, and then runs after me. I find myself on slightly higher ground, with brambles and thistles along a bank. I hear her below and, although I don't want to be seen, I push aside some of the shrubs and show myself. She runs off, presumably to find a way to get at me.

I jump down, and find people's bodies. Mostly children. I assume that these are her victims. I do not feel shocked, or disturbed, or frightened by this. It is as though it's expected. One child's body has five dead mice beside it, each beside the other in an orderly row. I deduce that the child was killed by these mice. Another body has another dead animal beside it, and I decide the same.

-

I can't quite remember what the other animal was. Possibly a badger? But I'm not sure.

Last night, I dreamed I was still in highschool in order to finish the math course I had failed there. (I never actually failed high school math, as a side note)
Anyway, Mata was our substitute teacher that day. After a discussion about how to acheive a maximum awesomness in one's mohawk, I began to doodle in my notebook. I drew Mr. Floppity, only to have Mata immeadietly come up beside me and inform me that I was stealing his character and I should erase it. I ended up storming out of the classroom when I suddenly realised that I didn't even have to go to highschool anymore, and that I was probably late for my college courses.

I hate it when you dream about past events like going to highschool or being in daycare or living in your childhood home. It's always so trippy when you wake up and realise that those things will likely never happen again.

I often have dreams that are based in my old schools. They are not necessarily school-themed, but the location is school. And equally, I often dream about my childhood home. Whenever a house-setting is required, that's the one my brain conjures up, regardless of how inappropriate or nonsensical it is.

I awoke this morning with the memory of three dreams, and I ran them through my head several times as I lay still. I then sat up slightly, rolled over, and picked up my phone. In those two short seconds, two dreams escaped my memory, and a lot of details from the third crumbled away. I marvel at how keen the brain is to get rid of these memories, and it also frustrates me a little. I would be more annoyed about it if I didn't think that, during the day, there will be some event that will trigger my brain into remembering the dream once more. It is always a pleasant surprise.

--

I think this might be my first ever zombie-dream. As I think I've said before, I generally tend to dream of things that are relatively realistic. Sci-fi and fantasy are usually the last themes that come up, and horror isn't overly prevalent.

But, last night I dreamt of zombies. As I mentioned, a lot of the details have left me now, but I remember some bits and pieces.

I was walking through a building, occasionly finding a zombie walking towards me with malevolence. I would dispatch the undead with a gunshot to the face. At one point, I looked upon a table and saw two hand-sized, black, leather cases. I opened them, and each had a flick-knife inside, with a chain attached. As I looked up again, a zombie was ambling in my direction, and I threw a knife at it. It struck, and the zombie fell to the ground. Behind it was a woman, an alive human, and she had a wound in her stomach where the knife had passed through the zombie. She did not seem to be in any pain, or even concerned, she just touched her fingers to the blood and made an expression that seemed to say, "Ooops, what a predicament!. For some reason, I threw the other knife at her too...

Time rewinds suddenly, and I find myself in front of the table again, picking up the knifes. The zombie approaches once more, and I run over to kill again, aware this time of who will be behind it. However, this time there is no woman. The zombie does not try to attack me, almost as if she (for now I see the gender) isn't totally 'undead' yet... or something.

The next part is retrospectively rather disturbing, although there was no issue in the dream. I shan't go into great detail because I'm not entirely sure whether that would be within the forum boundaries. It suffices to say that, after a short conversation with the female-zombie who I have tied down to a table, I make... 'alterations'... to her genitals using one of the knives.

--

Fortunately for me, I don't personally worry about the content of my dreams. I had arguments with an ex about dreams, where she felt that if I dreamt of, for example, having sex with another woman, then that meant I WANTED to have sex with another woman. She applied a literality to dreams that I really did not agree with. My usual response was to mention some of the most surreal dreams I've had, and ask why she chose not to apply literal sense to these too.

But anyway, because of my approach to dreams, potentially-worrying content doesn't bother me. But it is interesting to know that my brain conjured this up.

I woke up this morning from what felt like a pretty lengthy dream in several parts, some of which repeated themselves a little. Although some elements seem disconnected from the others, it felt like they were all part of one big 'event', instead of a night's-worth of dreams. I've tried to hang out to the memories of the dream, but they keep slipping away - it's like trying to hold onto a wet bar of soap.

**************

I am in an area with several factory buildings around me, and I'm armed with a pistol, a shotgun, and a knife. I see a group of men approach me, dressed in some kind of armoured clothing, and I make my escape up a tower. From a window at the top, I look down upon the "bad guys", and watch as they search for me. I ready the shotgun, and shoot at them, killing them one-by-one. A couple of them spot me, and I run back down the ground to escape elsewhere, ammunition for my shotgun now depleted. One approaches me and I consider charging at him with my knife, but I use the pistol instead. It appears to fire BB-gun pellets, and a stream of them hit the baddie, but seems to make no difference.

...

I am near my old home-town with a friend. He points at a white car he really likes, and we watch someone getting into it. I suddenly realise that it is my ex-fiancee, and quickly spin around so that she won't notice me.

...

I'm in Tesco, wandering around with my mother and my sister. We head to the checkout, and I am clutching some items I want to buy. I quickly rush around to where I picked up each product, and try to roughly add up how much it will cost. I estimate it to be about £90, and decide that's fine, even though I need to save up some money. I keep my stuff separate from my mother's, and the total bill is £94. I have bought about eight CDs, plus two wallets.

...
I'm in a small town, queuing to get into a theatre with a friend who looks like Rob Corddry. I look up the road to see a small gathering of about 10 protesters, many carrying placards. They are standing on the pavement, chanting, but I can't make out what they are saying, or what is written on the signs. Amongst the crowd, I notice my ex-fiancee and her daughter. My ex's make-up and clothes are ridiculously 80's, and I again turn so she won't spot me. I tell my friend, "God! I can't get away from her at the moment!", and point her out to him.

The queue gets a little shorter, and I suddenly realise I don't have my wallet. I tell my friend, and he says, "You better get it, I don't have any money on me either." I am slightly annoyed that he expects me to pay for the tickets, but I wander down the road towards my car. I look up into the blue, cloudless sky, and watch a rocket ascend. At first I assume it must be a space-mission, but it suddenly begins to weave back and forth across the sky. It explodes mid-air with a small firework display that displays the words, "Ha! Ha!" in colourful, sparkling letters. I realise that this must be the work of The Joker.

I walk back to my friend, and we see another rocket launch into the sky. It has a rounded, red tip to it, and it reaches a certain height, then turns and aims for us. I leap to the side, and it misses me, but another two rockets are already heading towards me. I jump out of the way a couple more times, and remain safe.

**************

I can kind of see where the, uh, "inspiration" for some of the dreams came from:

  • The "bad guys" I was shooting at, and the industrial setting, were very much like the game 'Half Life'.
  • I visited my old town last week, so I am not surprised I've dreamt about the area
  • I visited Tesco last night, and I had a "Have I got enough money?"-moment
  • I've also been playing a lot of Batman:Arkham Asylum recently, so it's no surprise that The Joker appeared in my dream

Still a bit odd though smile.gif

Plus, another actor featuring a dream at one point. He usually plays a gangster-type of character in British films, but I forget his name.

I had a stuffy nostril while I was asleep. I dreamt that when I ran my nose under hot water (been using a netipot recently) blood would come out. Eugh. And snot and gross stuff. And my mother made me a doctor's appointment. I tried to take a shower and it took forever and I kept forgetting to take all my clothes off when I went in ( a common theme recently?). Nothing about the oddness of my deceased mother being around, just me bitching and moaning and in pain.

Also, in a separate dream, trying to take all my lighters out of luggage, and in one instance I made up a television show about scary child-dolls that killed people. Like Chucky, I guess. Wtf, brain.

I'm fairly sure I had a silverfish nightmare two nights ago. Watching lots of them crawl all around, on the wall right near my bed, one fell into my bed, on the floor under all my shoes. But I was quite drunk that night, so it felt pretty much like reality - I can't remember! I'm convincing myself it's a dream or else I'll probably never sleep again!

It is the essence of order, and leads to all that is good, just and beautiful, of which it is the invisible, but nevertheless dazzling, passionate, and eternal form." - Plato

I had a dream this morning about us all having a communal shower together in Mata's flat, which was number 263 in a giant uni dorm and I got upset because cand couldn't find me a towel and it was too crowded, so I left, walked around naked but then the bouncer my friend Jake (who in the dream I called Jakey) wouldn't let me back into the party.

Last night, for the first time ever: Flying bicycle!!! biggrin.gif with ZOMBIES.

I am beginning to suspect that my brain allows me to dream if only to continue coming up with creative solutions to zombie outbreaks.

I am with two or three others, walking up several flights of stairs in a tower. The centre (that the stairs wraps around), is just hollow space, and at the bottom is a swimming pool. We reach the top of the tower, and there is no roof; we can see the stars above. A girl with red hair (smile.gif) tries to encourage me to jump down in to the pool, but I am worried. She and the others dive, and my view shifts for a moment, and I can watch the tips of her toes gently touch the bottom of the pool before she surfaces. I figure that, if I jumped in, I would hit the bottom like a rock and hurt myself, so I decide I'll just make my way back down and step in.

I am in the pool, and the girl is now trying to show me a way out. We need to dive to the deepest point in the pool, swim along a narrow passage, and up the other side. I cannot see how far it is, and I am worried about not being able to hold my breath for long enough. I try to find out how far it is, but the girl disappears into the water - her legs kicking in unison like a flipper.

I am, by this point, totally besotted with this girl. I need to follow her and find her, but I feel incapable of going the same way. I see a door, and choose to go that way instead. Walking along a corridor, I go past several people - all dressed to go swimming. I soon meet up with the others.

I am then suddenly in a garden in the summer. The girl and I are sitting on a low fence, our hands together. I feel so sick with love for her, but also confused and guilty because I am already in a relationship. I watch her for quite some time, feeling both sad and happy at the same time.

Then I wake up.

I'm not sure if my dream last night was strange, since I don't remember any details, but I woke up giggling so hard I couldn't breathe. When moop asked for an explanation, I said, "The Fonz." That's it. Just, "The Fonz."

It made perfect sense at the time. Now...not so much.
