Thursday I played D&D for 12 straight hours with Randy and a couple of friends. It was fantastic! We would have made it all the way through the module that night, except that there were about 14 baby scrags that attacked me in the first room, and it took us 3 hours of playing to get through them all. Seriously, fishing for scrags using yourselves as bait when only 2 can swim and one of them is in plate mail is harder than you'd think.

Note: Scrags are underwater trolls. They regenerate their hit points a MASSIVE ammount when they are in water. The only way to kill them is to get them out of the water, then kill them there.

If we're including Tabletop RPGs, recently I've been playing a fair amount of Wushu. It's a free, rules-light cinematic system which is fantastic. In our DnD game recently, we made our way to the discworld. d20 rules don't really fit with the discworld so we switched to Wushu while we're there.

A 2-page DnD character sheet cuts down to 4 lines in Wushu.

[COLOR=green]Good old Diablo II with the Lord of Destruction expansion! Old skool, yo! Last time I played Randy hacked the thing six ways to Sunday. This time I think we'll just do an inventory and bank space mod (I just can't leave stuff on the floor....space mods make it so much easier to pick everything up. Those of you who read Penny Arcade might know what I mean).

Ah! A 4 day holiday weekend. And we've got no firm plans other than to hang out with some mates and play a wicked card game called Paranoia - I strongly recommend it. UK seller here - a snip at under a tenner. It's brilliant - you basically spend the entire game trying to stab everyone else in the back while watching your own back. Genius, I tells thee.

As to videogames, it's going to be a bumper weekend - going to get to the Hard level on Guitar Hero, which according to ravein is bonkers hard. I'm going to finish Fire Emblem:Path of Radiance on the Normal difficulty and start it on the Hard, and I'm going to plough through a bit more of Skies of Arcadia. I might also dabble with rubbish RC helicopter game I picked up for cheap for PS2. It's quite rubbish, but the handling model is scarily realistic and aptly, bastad-hard.

It's going to be a good weekend smile.gif

That's a card game now? Goodness, I'd only ever come across it as an RPG. So evil...

Can I just say I don't like the way games are released anymore. It used to be that games came out for all of them. Game cube, xbox, playstation 2 and PC. Now, certain games are being released for certain titles. Whoever offers up the most money. Microsoft are doing something evil on the day of the release of the PS3. They are releasing halo 3 for the xbox 360.

Where did you read that? I wouldn't put it past M$ to do that, but $ony haven't even announced a release date yet. I can see why M$ would do it, as a way of trying to snub the other side, but it could very easily back-fire. There's a big difference between buying a new platform and buying a new game. There will be a cross-over market of hardcore gamers who want every system and the best games for them, but those are the kind of people who would buy both at once. When you get home with a new game and a new computer (theoretically) which are you most likely to do: play the game or set up the whole new system? I'd go for the later because it offers the most new experiences.

$ony have really got to be sure that they have a superb launch line-up because the 360 still lacks a real must-have title even this far after launch. If $ony can get one of those out before Christmas this year then they will once again win the race for this generation I think.

I picked up Makai Kingdom and We <3 Katamari this week. I've beaten (but continue to play) Katamari and am also playing Makai Kingdom. They're good. Very good.

Nice avvie ^w^

Playing Shadow the hedgehog, It's kinda confusing since everyone attacks you good or bad. So it's best to just try and blow everything up.

Just finished playing the demo for Condemned, so sweet, you’re a cop looking for a serial killer in a grisly realistic env. - lots of bludgeoning transients with objects not primarily designated as weapons (a.k.a "die at the hand of my rustily nailed 2x4, hobo junkies!"). It’s like a cross between Resident Evil and Manhunt. I'm so glad this is out on PC since I don't have a 360. Anyone played the full game? How is it? Demo is here: http://www.condemnedgame.com/
