Since I made this thread, I've moved up over 30,000 places in the rankings. 'Kin awesome.

Many more reviews have gone up since I was last here. Your attentions would be very well received. There may even be hugs.

Tune Yards (I refuse their silly capitalisation) https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...;v=QcmJnNYAkFI#

You are wise to do so. Good tuneage does not excuse silly namings. Let that be a lesson to her.

I'm in QC mode for the mix project I took up a couple of weeks back. Izzy's is currently being given the once-over. It's f@cking brilliant, of course.

Purple, the color of garrishness and tinkie winkie. The only saving grace about it is that it is one of Mardi Gras' colors.

Three words: Purple sparkly lipstick.

Holy crap! Questions! Also WeeJ! Long time no see, y'old Brummie.

Cand - Many women have, at some point, had a sexual partner who is prone to *cough* finishing first. Perhaps the purchases have been made by women in an effort to spice up their between-sheet action and perhaps bag themselves the guarantee of some orgasmic glory by use of Eastern sexual experimentation and cunning tortoise/hare parable.

Daria - Have you checked in the drawer where you keep your various lengths of wire?

Ah. That was all the questions. Everyone else was just excited to see WeeJ.

Hold on - WeeJ is here? Holy crap!

Too much Facebooking left me looking for the 'like' function on the bottom of your post. Awesome album. Great cover, too.

I've been dropping my tracklist for my monster-themed compilation into my ears. I made it for the 'Less Facebook More Mixtapes' group on FB (monthly themed mixswaps FTMFW), and it turned into a bit of a double album concept - one disc for zombies and one for vampires. Veers sharply from indiepop to techno to alt-folk to thrash metal. Awesomes.

Well put, daughter of mine. Jedi robes, however, are best in green, as we well know.

Anyone object to this thread/forum/entire internet being given over to pictures of syuu and voices and their fetching facial fuzz?

No? Thought not.

I've been listening to 300MB of tunes that I'm trying to organise into a decent order for a mixtape. Yes, I know that's a lot more than you usually get on a mixtape, but it will be UTTERLY AWESOME. It also has 'Your Woman' by White Room on it.

Is that for your Mix Tape Blind Date buddy? And did you mean White Town? Were you distracted by KLF while you were writing?

You took the time to vote, and that's what matters to me. A few others did, too, as my overall helpful votes has now jumped from the high 60s to the low 70s. Anyone wish to own up in exchange for thanks and/or hugs?

One of the CDs I made InKy is entitled "Songs Wot Make Me Cry" and is perfect for that kind of stuff.

And a very good CD it was too, as were the others.

Today I had what can best be described as a revelatory experience. I popped 'LIVWE!!!' by Boredoms into my ears, and then lost all rational thought for the full 40-minute glory of it. Keyboards, choir and frantic drumming, merging together into something more mind-expandingly gorgeous than mere words could ever describe. Check it out, yeah?

[EDIT] Loved it so much, I popped up a new review on Amazon.co.uk. Right here!

Could it therefore be that the voices in your head are in fact those of your family? Worrisome.

Tinfoil doesn't quite make the grade as far as thought-protection goes - though it is useful for the baking of potatoes, it falls short when fending off the attentions of mindrummagers. Your best defense would be to repeatedly listen to an annoying and repetitive song until it becomes stuck in your head, thereby making the contents of your noggin inhospitable to prospective brain thieves. Granted, you will drive yourself to the brink of madness after a few days, but at least your final, insane thoughts will be safely your own.

Thank you for recommending me to the producers of our mooted beverage-related rom-com, by the way. I shall prepare for the role immediately by filling myself with tea. Minion! Fire up the kettle!

There were about five songs in this year's Eurovision that didn't make me yawn myself into a coma. I do not drink my own bodyweight in vodka to gear myself up for watching ballads, Europe!

The winner deserved it, and we deserved to come last.

Snugs - Ah, time and the passage thereof. Things change, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. Embrace the change, ride out the bad and wait for things to come back your way.

For this and other pieces of fortune cookie wisdom, call my 24 hour hotline. Not the one that's written on the wall of the ladies' toilet though. That's a very different service.

Iz - You get this T-shirt

Voices - I am aware of two existing options. Firstly, if your housemates are mostly female, write a grotesquely over-inflated calorie count on the side of the jug. From my experience in an office situation, nothing repels women like a high calorie treat. Unless they are depressed. Or watching 'Dirty Dancing'.

If that doesn't fix it, you need to come good on your threats. Write the word 'URINE' on the side of the jug, and then, on a day chosen at random, fill it with actual urine. Granted, there may be a problem with generating a large enough volume to fill the jug, especially if you are finding yourself unable to reach a satisfying level of saturation, but you could always cheat and top it up with a similarly repellant substance, such as swamp water, or Mountain Dew. That'll sort them out.

By the way, could 'Thirsty In Texas' be a possible sequel to 'Sleepless In Seattle'? Get Starbucks onside for sponsorship, and we could be on to a winner...

5,174 now. Pold's votes and yours for my new Trost review have pushed me up a little. Lovely! Seeing as work is getting back to being absurdly quiet, I might be able to get a couple more up before the end of the week...

...such as that Freezepop one I mentioned, which has just now gone up. Triffic.

Thanks bud! They recalculate the rankings every 24 hours, so I'll probably have moved up a couple of hundred places by tomorrow morn.

I intend to get another review up there before the week is out. It's just a question of what, though. I've still got two Erase Erratas and a clutch of Counter Cultures to shoot for, but I've just noticed that 'Forever' by Freezepop only has one review to its name. What's more summery than lo-fi synthpop, after all?
