Mata Spotting Options

Hey everyone.

I had to share this experience with you all - mainly because they say "A problem shared is a problem halved" and I'm hoping that this proverb works with embarrassment.

I was wandering through Dundee (where I'm living at the mo) on my way to the train station and I spotted this guy and thought to myself "Eeee, thats Mata that is!" and then shouted out, quite loudly for me, "Mata! Cooee!". Then, as the guy turned towards me looking very confused and slightly afraid I realised that it wasn't Mata. And anyway, why would Mata be in Dundee on a Friday afternoon?

Has this ever happened to anyone else? Thinking you've seen the great and powerful Mata and then discovering it WAS him doesn't count!

Were you in Dundee on a secret mission Mata? And because I seen you you had to transform into your secret disguise? Hmmm...

Anyway, the moral of this story is: Don't shout at strange people, even if you thing you know them. Bite them first.

I haven't seen Mata, despite the rumours, but there was a fellow in university that was a dead ringer for the fellow I was dating.
Correction, he was a dead ringer from behind. Same clothes, same hair, same shoulders, etc. I soon learned to check before racing up from behind, kissing my fellow's cheek and patting his bottom. The looks I got from his similar but different clone.

I resolve to look for Mata!





Um, that reads a bit wrong. He may not appreciate a kiss and pat from a strange woman racing up to him. I meant to say hello to. Really.

Well, much as it does sound entertaining I suspect I would be quite shocked if that happened.

No, I don't think I've ever been to Dundee. I'm rarely out of Winchester, although I do plan on going to Bournemouth tomorrow for a day out with Sues.

You SHOULD come to Dundee, though, Mata. Then we all could shout it out in the streets and stuff like that. And we could laugh as the silly southerner freezes his buttcheeks off. It really is rather cold up here. But I'm intrigued by this so-called Mata lookalike. I'll keep my eyes open for him, then bombard him with hate messages saying "Why aren't you Mata? You should be!" or something like that.

I do agree with both Ashbless and Tara though - Mata could be everywhere with some expert tricks of photography, maybe a strobelight or two! And! You should come to Dundee. But not in the cold season as I'm not that cruel. If you do decide to come to Dundee you should visit between 3-4pm on July 12th as this is actually our summer. Hehehehe.

Really, though - every time I hear a British accent, I turn around hoping to see Mata accompanied by gaggles of adoring fans and real life versions of LGG, Samurai Lapin, and Mr. Snaffleburger.

I caught a bit of the (terrible) Mummy Returns on telly the other night, and it struck me again how much the dude that plays Imotep looks like Mata would if he lived in a gym for several months.

I mean, no offense and all that, but that dude's buff!

I'm a "silly southerner" and if you can tell me that you've worked in a freezer warehouse at minus eighteen degrees for ten hours per day four days a week for more than five years. Then I'll believe you know just what cold is.

Tara COULD tell you he has worked in a freezer warehouse at minus eighteen degrees for ten hours per day four days a week for more than five years. But it would probably be a lie (Unless he has lived a secret double life as a freezer warehouse lackey)... So he won't.

But, Dundee IS cold this time of year, try living there.

I had a dream a few years ago that I saw Mata in a park but when I got close enough to him he was this drunk trucker who had stolen one of Mata's shirts.

I knew Imotep reminded me of someone... Yes, you've actually got a point there. I think it's the nose. Now that is odd.

I swear I keep on seeing Mata turning up in loads of my photos.

Quite eerie enough, in September, a friend of mine spent a month in England...she brought back many pictures she did, and where she was, (I don't exactly know where exactly...I believe she was on the other side of the country -opposite of London), anyways...there were a lot of sheep grazing in those pictures.

In one of the pictures, there was a sharp looking fellow in the distance standing among the herd, and as I looked through my magnifying glass I was shocked to see the most Mata-like resemblance. I concluded that an investigation was necessary. I zoomed and enlarged the face and was astounded to reveal that the sharp sheep herder in my friends random pic from her trip was the infamous Mata himself.

Which just goes to show that unintentional randomization will always find and lead to Mata.

sadly, being in america, I shall never have the honor of accidentaly running into the great Mata T_T;;

Being in the US doesn't mean that it is impossible, but it does drastically reduce the chances. For a start, I can usually only afford to be over there once every three years, and then you stand your best chances if you are at the Burning Man festival. Otherwise, San Francisco is the only bit that I've seen.
