Hi all,
I've got a bit of a problem. There are some photos on a 256MB SanDisk Compact Flash data card that I've been using in my Nikon Coolpix 775. When I turn on the camera with the disk in, it asks me if I want to format the disk. I'd rather get my data back! When I try to read the data from my PC I get told that there's no disk in the drive, so I haven't been able to get at the corrupted files to try reconstructing them. Any ideas? EDIT: It's not the camera either, because it can still use my old 8MB card without any problems. -------------------- Trouble Down Pit: Still updated every Monday and Friday

If you have no luck send it my way... I have some fairly hardcore disk recovery software.

I use a range of stuff... a friend does professional data recovery and I have about half his software...
tbh BadCopy Pro always seemed to work for me (I used to recover people's floppys at uni for a fiver), It has a CF function... -------------------- Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is mearly energy condensed through a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, life is only a dream and we are the imaginations of ourselves. on the same topic is there any way of getting data back if you accidentally wipe the windows file tables? I have a MP3 player and the last time i rebuilt my pc it was plugged in. I didnt realise at the time that this shiney new 20 gig disk that had appeared was in fact the aformentioned player. I'm kinda bummed as it had all my important backed up files on it. The mp3 still works fine and plays all the music but i cant get the rest of the stuff on or off - same problem as mata "do you want to format the disk".
Please help *edit* It was wiped when i told windows to install to it. The whole "wipe partition" thingy -------------------- “Come to the edge.”

I've no idea about the file tables question.
I've tried BadCopy but it can't so anything because the card is regarded as inaccessible. What's the chances that anyone else could access it? It'd be a shame to lose it because it's got a few snaps from a friend's wedding on there. Nothing amzing, but it would be a pity if they vanished. -------------------- Trouble Down Pit: Still updated every Monday and Friday
