Strange Dreams Options

I wasn't sure what was distressing me more, the fact that I could forget where my classes were over the short winter break, or the fact that I was going to be late for school because I couldn't find my schedule.

I used to have a LOT of dreams about being late, or unprepared, for school. I still have them occasionally, but they occurred more often was I was in full-time education.

Fairly common theme, I think.

Then suddenly Jeffery Donovan and Eliza Dushku were making a movie together in front of me.

Wish I could remember them all, and write them down, but if I did they would probably be used against me, and I'd be sent to a looney bin...

One that remains vivid from many years ago started with skinny dipping with Sarah Michelle Gellar in a flooded field. For some reason the croc from Lake Placid was in it so I got out and hid on top of a house. As i looked down the croc was walking down the street on its back legs, Godzilla style. My mum and sister were just standing in the road, blind folded, for some reason. I shouted at them to move, but instead they got squashed.

I don't remember mine last night, but I do remember waking up thinking I had a big black bumble bee in my shirt.

Last night I dreamt that I had two triangular portions of my fringe which had turned very, very, blonde. In my mind, this was the equivalent of going grey, and I became extremely upset and agitated by the fact that I was suddenly showing my age with such clarity... I became desperate to find a way to hide them, and wanted to dye my hair as soon as possible.

So... a few dreams last night.

I am at the bottom of a multi-story carpark, full of cars, but empty of people. I am aware that my friend uses this car park for his work, and so I think I shall surprise him by tapping on his car as he drives past. Suddenly, the place fills up with people as everyone leaves work, and I have to jostle my way through everyone. I see my friend wandering along, and I don't want him to see me yet, so I try and keep to his side. He gets in someone else's car (presumably - my dream self thinks - because he has been drinking at work today) on the passenger side, and a work colleague gets in and starts to drive. I try to make it to his car window and tap on it...

I am in my own car, parking in a small car park by the sea at Clacton (oh no, this dream is already turning into a nightmare! ). I am there to take photographs of the beach and the pretty sunset which is on display. As I park, I notice that there's some better spaces alongside the promenade, so I move the car again and park there. By this time, the sun has gone down, and I am struggling to take decent photographs of anything in the low light - long exposure times and a lack of tripod causing blurry images. I try to rest the camera on a wall to make it stable, but I don't have much luck.

The final dream is now only fragments in my mind. I vaguely recall being at a school, and seeing people walking along scaffold-type structures. There's a wall with a large window in it, which looks into a big tank of water, and a shark swims past. At some point I begin to sing, "Oh I Just Can't Wait To Be King" from The Lion King. Everyone seems impressed by my singing, and I continue to the final climatic notes. I hit the very last note a little flat, and end up having to improvise around it to try and cover up my mistake.

Yup! I have them all the time. Usually they're set in the old high school in my home town, which collapsed during an earthquake. I never attended that school (I was 10 when the building was condemned), and I entered it maybe twice in my life. In the dreams, I almost always end up having a panic attack in a dimly lit locker room that looks like the locker rooms from my elementary school. Then I stumble across a Mysterious Door of Mysteriousness and find a series of ladders and ropes that I have to cross to get to Math or Sociology. I don't know why Sociology features so heavily in my dreams about being late/unprepared for school. Math, I understand. Ten years later, I remember almost nothing from Pre-Cal, but I only took Sociology for a semester.

I can't remember much of my dream from last night, but I know that I spent the majority of it hiding from a screaming mob/trying to find other forumites with Mata. No idea who the mob participants were or why they were chasing us. I'm guessing I was visiting him, because as we were trying to avoid the mob, we stumbled across a kid with his finger stuck in a dike, saving the village from a flood...

My friend Jake wanted sex despite him having a girlfriend and I was ok with that. He wouldn't let me be on top though, because I was too ugly.

I was visiting my dad, who for some unknown reason was back together with his second wife and her two boys, none of whom I've seen for years. It was some sort of weird family reunion type thing, or maybe it was christmas, or maybe it was easter (there was a lot of chocolate at the event). The elder son's girlfriend was present, and the younger's boyfriend (last I checked, he wasn't gay, but that was a long time ago), and the three of us had a heart to heart about whether or not I hated them for leaving. It was all very mature, quite unlike them from the past. Oh, and it started out being in their old house too, but it was a two-story now and there were weird office buildings in the street; we left for the two young couples to go catch a bus to somewhere, and I walked one of the dogs, Robbie. When I asked where they were going, they replied "a confetti throwing" which I thought sounded like "perth road" at first, but they corrected me, saying there was a navy march going on somewhere and they were off to throw confetti over it. We got to the bus and they insisted I come with them after realising the people following us were a bunch of neds intent on mugging me once they had gone.

Oddly, I've had a couple of mugging-related dreams recently, where I have been both victim and perpetrator.

I am frustrated today because I know I had an awesome dream last night, but I simply cannot bring it back to my memory right now.

Last nights dream, I was my age, but I had traveled back in time about 8 years when I still worked at the music store. It was right before I had gotten fired, so I guess I was being given a chance to change the circumstances that led to my termination. I was too cranky and tired to really care though, so I actually was standing up for myself (which is something that rarely happens and very rarely happened there) and so I was just kind of chewing people out. In the end I spotted some kids who were sticking CDs down their jeans (I think they had about 40 CDs a piece) and I got to take all of my frustration and aggravation out on them. Boy Howdy did I yell a lot.

When I have a sex dream, it's either with someone I intensely dislike, or it's with Ste and we get caught by someone who screams at us. I never have good sex dreams.

Last night I dreamed that I went to the hairdressers, and they were trying to convince people to let them style their pubic hair along with the hair on their head. They had these pink, sparkly little boxes that they were handing out, called, "A Box for your Box." It had Nair in it, and I had a big debate with a hairdresser (who had one of her front teeth missing) about whether Nair was safe to put on ladybits (it's not). She insisted it'd be fine, and it'd make me more stylish. I decided to just leave, since I was tired of them trying to pressure me into putting depilatories on my genitals, but for some reason I decided to keep the Nair.

I dreamt that I was playing my piano for syuu - occasionally via webcam/Skype, and occasionally she was in the room with me - but occasionally she would play her own piano over me, or play mine as I was, and I found myself getting frustrated.

I had a couple of dreams last night.

The first one, I just really wanted to understand some typefaces really well, so I carved them into the handles of guns. No idea why that would help.

The second one, my sister and her boyfriend had been keeping furniture here because they ran out of room, but for some reason, sine my sister's boyfriend's dad had died, they magically had room for their stuff. Because of this, they were loading up some pieces in a truck to take with them, and my mom threw one of the pieces causing some weird cartoonlike fold up where the furniture folded in on itself and got really small, yet didn't break. Once everything was loaded I went inside the house to use the restroom and my sister's boyfriend walked in on me, insisting that I throw away handfuls of his hair that he had just cut off.

Last night, I dreamed I was sitting on what I thought was an unused train in Derby station. For some reason, sleeping on the train seemed preferable to the 40 minute walk home. I don't know why.

As it turned out, the train was very much in use. I got off at the first stop, intending to buy a ticket back to Derby. Yeaaah. The first stop was Saigon. I was a bit dismayed, since 1. I didn't have my passport, and 2. I wasn't even born when Ho Chi Minh City was still known as Saigon.

So there I was, in 1970's Vietnam, and what did I do? I decided to walk home.

Ah, dream logic.
