http://www.moop.org.uk/irc.php If you can't get in use this, it's a web browser based IRC client that I put on my server for people who couldn't get in any other way. All you need to do is enter a nick and click the 'Login' button and you automatically end up in the right channel and everything. Bear in mind it's slow and clunky and best used as a last resort (also it uses a bit of my bandwidth  ).
