Probably Sleeping With Ghosts.. but that might just be because I haven't got any others.. hmmm..

Favourite song?.. probably Nancy Boy just like quitea lot.. although their new single is damn good.

Hottest pic of Brian? I don't really think that he is that hot... because he looks a bit like a girl.. he's just one of those people who have quite.. ummm.. pleasing? faces.

Placebo did this rather wonderful version of Without You I'm Nothing with David Bowie. That was originally my favourite Placebo song, but that duet-y thing got me all excited.

They've made some really good music over the years, but Brian really is a bit of a grumpy sod if you're not an adoring fangirl (I met him about eight years ago... Maybe he's improved, but he wasn't even that famous back then and was already like it, so I have my doubts).

Pab was nice enough to send me an excellent cover of Five Years by Brian Molko on acoustic guitar.

Best thing Bran Molko has ever done I reckon.

Bah! Such a shame, since he's been quite a giggle on stuff like Never Mind the Buzzcocks. 'Tis a shame when nice people become spastics.

Let's give Mr Molko a personality transplant. Who's with me?

Well, it does seem that he needs one a bit, but this hasn't stopped me from enjoying his music. Although I have to say, I don't see what people see in him in terms of attraction from physical looks... But money and fame are quite potent aphrodisiacs if anecdotal evidence is anything to go by.

england is in my opinion the bast place to start a music career,.
and it's so uberly cool that mata met him
and all the cool people end up in england eventually
btw mata does he look like that in real life or is it all makeup, lighting and cool clothes

I only met him briefly after a pub gig, it wasn't like it was an in depth conversation (although it was supposed to be, I was going to be doing an interview with him for a small indie magazine, but he decided he was too tired after I'd spent about two hours travelling to get there).

He looks quite similar, but then again I don't think he looks that great to start off with! There is an aspect of make-up and lighting that helps him, because he's only human after all, but I'd say that he looks pretty much the same. Then again, he still looks that way after nearly ten years, so perhaps he's aided more by make-up these days!

As for their best song, Nancy Boy is really good and I think that Bitter End is probably its equal.

Favourite Placebo album has to be Without you I'm Nothing.
Fave song- hmm, probably Teenage Angst and the cover of Daddy Cool!
Best pic- All of them wub.gif

One of my fave Brian moments is in the opening sequence of Velvet Goldmine when he's running in these huge platform boots and drops his feather boa on the ground, then has to pick it up. He does it very well, if it was me I'd fall on my arse, no doubt.

Favorite song by them has to beee.... Pure Morning. Even though its overplayed and whatnot. Its also basically the only one I've heard. o.o;

.... Thats.... excluding the concert I went to. But I wasnt listening so much as observing!

I dont think he's that hott either.... then again I'm not usually physically attracted to someone untill I'm psychologically attracted to them which is a bit odd.

He does look too much like a girl though.

And smokes alot.

O.K how's this for somthing to discuss of the placebo albums black market music is the least good. not to the point of being outright bad just not as good as their other work.
Here's why
the album had a few songs intended as hits but very little else. i tend to fel ripped off if most of the album is practically unlistenable. eg without you i'm nothing had the same hit quality songs(pure morning, every me every you) but filled them out out with songs which were good in their own right (my sweet prince, scared of girls, allergic) but BMM had "taste in men" "special k" and "slave to the wage" with very few strait out easy songs closest is probably "blue america" or "black eyed" which frankly aren't up to the task. the rest of the album is either close to being a hit with a little more work "days before you came" is one and then other songs are very similar to one another eg tracks 9-12.
another issue as i see it is that the album hasn't got very good flow it has poppy songs then clashy unfinished songs that quiet songs then a poppy song then quiet sameish songs. and i think that the bad flow contributes to the album being difficult to listen to if you're in a lazy mood ,reading or just playing it for background noise.
this album after all it has a special place in my heart, the first placebo song i ever heard was taste in men (it called me out of the kitchen no bull) but i don't think it was their best effort.

So what do you think?

I've got Sleeping with Ghosts and Black Market Music, and out of the two, I'd have to say. Black Market Music is the better, but my favourite song by them is Special Needs.

I saw them at the last two Reading festivals, and they were fantastic

I actually hated Black Market Music, but thought that Sleeping with Ghosts was a bit pleasant. But Without You I'm Nothing is 100% their strongest album, I reckon, so give that a listen too.
