Heya Kitty,

First off I won’t go into the evils/good of Starbucks but I’ll tell you what I found out working the in the very first cyber café in Cardiff. First off comfy chairs and small enclosed areas, the large comfy leather sofas get in large groups of mates to sit around and chat. The small comfy enclosed areas get the business types in that want to talk privately without being overheard.

Food – What you going to sell, most people want finger foods, things they can eat with there hands while drinking there coffee, muffins, cookies and sandwich’s, pre packed over time will save you so much money, there is not much profit in it, but saves you and your staff so much time if your not preparing it, also you have very little waste.

Drink – Get a really good signature coffee for your café right from the start, something that’s unique to your café (most coffee dealers will make you these by sitting down with you and doing lots and lots of taste tests). Supply soft drinks and juices if you can buy your own machine to make the juices and even the smoothies.

Small touches supply free papers, books even make a loyalty card buy 10 coffees get a coffee free ect (they really do work).

I found that combination works really well, even to a point that the café I drink in outsells the Starbucks down the road and they have a lot of what I just said.

Anarchy Online is free to play, but the cutomer service from NOfuncom is the worst i have ever encountered.

This was from the launch of the ZG instance and the "plague" only lasted about 2 days, but some people did have it abit longer but yes it was way back in 2005.

As for that report i read it in The Times personally the only part of it that might of made sense was ground zero, where people had left the instance then went to the various home points. then the spread of conntact from there as for the rest of it i found it unrealistic.

I did once say to the missus mother when drunk ..."When are you going to dye your hair to a natural colour selection, ginger is just so wrong" ... Well she hates me now ...don't know why. True story btw, she glared at me i swear she would have killed me if she could have gotten away with it.

Not posted here in a long time but i still vist.

Can i just say that article you linked is just pure drivel and complete shit (yeh both). It actually raises no decent points at all. As for if there are any good books out there damn just look up most top 10 book selling lists and you will find at least 2-3 decent books to read .....if you like the material or not.

The thing is with most books is there are very few concepts that have not been done, finding new ways to write them is the tough one, when that is done well the books are great. But then if those books are in the Scifi or Fantasy range ....well your f[*cough*- Mata]d as a writer, why ..well most people think these books are drivel not to be taken seriously. The only book(s that fall into this range that have been successful in what 20 years is ....Crappy Potter (yeh i fecking hate him (ohh and Crappy Potter is my TM so feck off stealing it!)).

When i was a child we had writers like Alan Dean Foster or Piers Anthony on the shelves, even Robert Don Hughes ...damn try finding the latter two on the shelves today, all those three writers i can recommend as a damn good read ...but you can't find most of them on the shelves. But then most of the best Scfi and Fantasy books only have barely 1 entire set of shelves in the book store, goes to show what companies think of the people that read the material.

QUOTE (Cath @ Apr 27 2007, 01:17 PM) *
May be looking into Warhammer when it comes out and maybe the Connan game to. One of my friends is on the beta test for both and is the one trying to drag me on them so we shall see what reports he comes back with.

War will be alot of fun, but i'll be staying away from AoC (Age of Conan) NOFuncom are a vile company to pay money too, i hate them more than SoE as i got threatening emails and abuse off one off there staff members.

LoTRO is not a bad game the story line is quiet engrossing. But the community is lacking abit to many wannabe legolas not enough intelligent players.

I learned that no matter how much you pay for a survey, they will still miss something and your insurance company says "tough it's an existing problem" and say your not covered. Then i learned you have to sue the survey company to put it right.

I'm currently a (non-active) member of a top-100 guild called the Ghostly Zeroes [zEn] atm

Pfft, zEn are 106 and you know it. tongue.gif
It's a funny old world when I end up in an alliance with a guild that has Dave in.

Ooh, Cath, I play horde on Defias Brotherhood, watch your back. tongue.gif

Aaah! Bugger! I'm not so good at watching my back except for the rogue who made me completely paranoid last night in a raid. *note to self avoid all horde* tongue.gif

How about you both join me Ally side on the pve server, and ill twink you both like you have never seen. Currently have a 60 hunter, 60 rogue, 60 pally (i raid with him ZQ/AQ20/AQ40 2nd boss/BWL (nef)) and a 60 mage. Got a 32 shammy too, but Shadowsong's horde AH needs a UN resolution for aid.

*Edit* i just read that over ....I'm such a geek.

Don't forget the Wii will also have backward compatability with all the Gamecube games as well as downloadable versions of games from every Nintendo Console AND selected Sega Megadrive (Genesis) games. (Yay classic Sonic!)

Finding that out just made me Wii my pants. wink.gif

If it is possible to download zelda from the N64 ect, i'm definatly buying one.

Man... I'm really cynical at the moment!

Same here, i bought my PS2 2 years ago now, i own 6 game for it and tend to play my old playstation games on it more. This is why im dubious on the PS3, one it would be massively overbudget for me and two all my mates now own Xbox 360's (and i only know 1 that will buy a PS3).

Funny thing about the European market too, we get screwed on MMORPG market too.

Whenever i see things about the PS3 i always think of this-

http://www.devilducky.com/media/49860/

(Might be considered adult humor)

Personally think the ps3 is overpriced and will fail drastically. Also some of the classic stuff those idiots at Sony have been saying is great reading-

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3150935

There was another with some sony guy saying that you would have to take out a second mortgage to buy a ps3, but i cant find a link mad.gif

You might have got very damn good odds on a stingray they are meant to be one of the most passive sea life.

Picnics are good and cheap, pick a nice spot though and if its by a lake/river learn to make a paper boat ..give you something to do.

Any cheap comedy venues by you?, maybe alittle standup to see if she got the same sense of humor.

But most importantly ask her, if you don't you will regret it. One thing though ...leave your ex out of the conversation tongue.gif
