So what should I be looking forward to? Here's my current list of wants...

New GC Zelda (obviously)
Final Fantasy 12
Phantom Brave
Killer 7
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath

It's looking a bit slim, to be honest, isn't it.

Is Wanda & Collossus due this year?

Other than that there's not a lot that I'm getting too excited about...

I'm not really sure about Stranger's Wrath. It doesn't sound like a game which has much in common with why I loved Abe's Oddyssey and Abe's Exoddus so much. The addition of violence as a central theme, especially, smacks strongly of Warrior Within-esque pandering to the mainstream. Still, I expect I'll buy it regardless.

Jonman the Edge fanboy says:

Edge gave it a 9 and praised it very highly. That's good enough for me.

Apparently, it's still a very Oddworld world. If you see what I mean. Except with a Western bent. So Westworld. Or Westoddworld, strictly, I suppose.

KotOR II

Out Feb. 11th, I think, but maybe thats only in america. I hope not; I need something to distract me from valentine's day. A girlfriend would be better, but KotOR will suffice.

Mm, I saw that. A very high Edge score is generally enough to convince me to buy a game, and this is no exception. I still have misgivings, though.

It may well be that case that you're no longer able to telepathically possess your own farts.

While it's close to a reason not to invest, it's not quite there for me.

My main problem is that it seems a very different game. The first three have been light-hearted, quirky puzzle-platformers. This one appears to be a light-hearted, quirky third-person shooter. Honestly, it's like they made a Final Fantasy FPS. Maybe it's a brilliant FPS, but is it Final Fantasy? I'll have to see.

I second that, gameplay.co.uk has it down for the 11th on PC and Xbox release and that looks to be UK...(they .co.uk gives it away see? tongue.gif) It looks good though from the screen shots I've seen, the graphics don't look that different from the original.... >_>

Good example of what I'm talking about. Now, I've only played Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, but it really just didn't seem like a Final Fantasy game to me. If they'd stuck a different name on it, it could have been anyone's game. It lacked whatever indefinable quality it is that makes me love the Final Fantasy series.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm near positive that Phantom Brave is out.

Anyway, I'm obviously looking forward to Devil May Cry 3. The new Zelda looks great, I have high hopes for Mario Baseball and Mario DDR. GC Kirby looks pretty great, too, and I might even let a stealth title into my library: Batman Beginnings. I'm optimistic about Star Fox, too, and the inevitable Ratchet and Clank 4 (okay, I'm just hoping right now... but Insomniac has released a Ratchet and Clank at Christmas time each year for three years.) Oooh! And Mario 128. I've been looking forward to that for a while.

Might be getting a little ahead of myself (sinse the original game took three years in development to complete and this one has only just started...) but Neverwinter Nights 2 has begun the long road to release (though Bioware only have a partial say in its completion, and its using a completely new graphics engine). The dev forums are up on the bioware site for anyone who wants to have their say in this next installment in the RPG that changed RPGs forever...?

2. Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater
3. The next Zelda
4. Stalker
5. F.E.A.R
6. KotOR 2
7. Star Wars Republic Commando.
8. The Inevitable HL2 Expansion park that comes out.

It's sad I haven't heard of half of those games, but... I'm looking forward to the second Xenosaga, even though I've yet to beat the first one, and I want KHII. Unfortunately, KHCoM took forever to make, and so I think I have a year or two before KHII. Ragnarok 2 looks good, but it has no out date on it, and I'm looking forward to the next FF for whenever comes out merely because most of the final fantasies I loved.

Kingdom Hearts II is coming out this year. Along with Final Fantasy XII and probably another expansion pack for XI.

Not so sure about the KHII. It was originally posted for January of this year, which ended up being the release date for CoM. CoM, originally, was set to be out by late summer of last year. Of course, by late summer of last year all they had released by that time was 12 screenshots and a 5 minute gameplay at a show that featured only one level and one type of card. Currently, all that's been released for KHII is this very short, albeit incresibly cool, clip that may or may not be actual gmaeplay. Square refuses to release any information on it now except that it will most definitely come out before the world ends. I suspect that unless we see a few more bits and pieces floating along by the end March we're looking at a 2006 release, unless they're witholding things, which I find to be hard to believe, since KHII is projected to be a big seller and they'd want to get some things going about it. Plus, who knows what crazy-ass Jupiter will do now that they have a good hold on the game. It's all really unknown.

You know what? As long as I dono't have to deal with the Gummiy ship, I'll be pretty okay with anything KHII throws at me. Though I could use a better script and camera system.

IGN didn't review Star Fox Armada so hotly, but they tend to not like games that I do, so take that at watever face value you'd like. If it's as good as the N64 version, I'm there.

And one more thing. Tekken 5. The graphics engine is sick enough fro me to want it, but with promised gameplay and combo system (let's face it, 4 wasn't the pinnacle of great stuff) I'm happy. And while on the subject of Namco, I'm looking forward to their corroboration with Capcom for a new RPG. I hope it'll be cool. Like a merger of Disney and Square, but... better.
