It is comedy gold though "head back to base for debriefing and cocktails"

I'd have so liked to see it, but I tried to go with my girlfriend who was (at the time) 16. I being 17 thought that I could have vouched for her, but damnit, it didn't work. So we've decided we're going to rent it when it comes out on DVD and watch it very spitefully.

If you're 17 you should have been able to take one person with you as that is how the law goes. (I used to work at a movie theater) I saw the movie and I thought it was okay, I got grossed out when the guy started puking after being kicked out of the bar and I walked out of the theater. Puke/fart jokes are so cheap...

Any thoughts on the politics of it all? I'd heard that it's incredibly one-sided. Usually the Parkers take a shot at everyone within range, so it's odd to hear that they only concentrate on liberals in this.

(bear in mind I've not seen it yet)

No, I didn't think it was one-sided at all. I felt both sides were more or less equally abused.

Sean sent me that after he saw the movie (which he and Polo both immediately informed me I should go see...which I would if it came to my town), and said something like, "New national anthem? I THINK SO!"

I wish it would come to my town. Hmph. But alas, I will have to wait for the DVD.

The movie only took shots at the liberals as far as you can see, but in doing so they made the conservatives and war followers also look like complete fools because of what they said about the liberals.

I second that. Parker pulled no punches and lashed out at everyone and anyone make fun-able ("MATT DAMON!").

The film was spectacular. I think the puppetry made it hilariously stupid, as did the blatant blasting of celebrities ("MATT DAMON!") and revelations of America's concept of foreigners ("Akka-dakka Muhammed Ali jihad!"). I figured that Parker wanted to show America how much of a joke the rest of the world thinks it is.

You know what Matazone needs? A montage.

God, I feel ronery.

Spiffy and I could not stop laughing at the "ronery" scene. I almost fell out of my chair during the "montage" montage. Literally, I couldn't breathe. Spiffy laughed as well, but nearly as much as I did.
