According to a friend of mine, in the state we live in (Indiana), pi is legally 4. I'd have thought it would be 3, as that is what it rounds to. However, I haven't had the time to actually check that, so it might not be quite accurate.

This make absolutely no sences at all to me.

Apparently, it's true! Partly, at any rate. See links here and here for the story.
*

Wasn't saying it wasn't true. I plain didn't understand the sentence beacause there was no context. If you'd mention something about maths I would have understood what you were talking about but it wasn't till I looked at your links that it all made sence.

Well spotted, Moop. As I didn't come up with the fact myself I could claim to have not noticed but to be honest, I didn't realize they were seperate continents.

99% of stinging ant bites in North America are caused by Fire Ants, who first came to this continent in the 1930's, possibly in soil used as ballast in ships from South America.

I tend to not finish any tea or coffee I prepare myself. Mostly because I forget it is there.... On the other hand, if I buy it, I always finish it.

Mostly because I'm walking around with it, and cant forget its there

Despite being a fairly rational person, whenever I hear the word "girl" spoken in a rapscalliony London accent (or worse, Yorkshire) I go all weak and wobbly. This has led to a self-imposed ban of Sex Pistols songs in public...alas.

It passes when you're around it 24 hours a day. So clearly what you should be doing is listening to them constantly. *nods*

I don't even notice moop's accent anymore. sad.gif It's one of life's real tragedies, you know? Girl who likes accents happens to fall in love with someone who has a great one...but alas! She talks to him so much that she no longer hears it unless she reaaally pays attention. Tragic.

The name of the vertical piece in a sundial that casts the shadow to tell what time it is is called a gnomon.

You can't have Manslaughter without Laughter.

The length between your eyes is virtually the same as the diameter of the eye from corner to corner.

Fernandina Beach, Florida has the oldes saloon in the nation and is the birthplace of the modern shrimping industry.

There was a mass grave during a disease outbreak in what was to become Fort Clinch State Park (which is literally right behind my house).

There is a Civil War battleground near my old house (near Old Town, the original Fernandina Beach).

Old Town has a street called Ladies' Street where sailors (many of whom were pirates) would go to pick up prostitutes.

The News Leader is Florida's oldest newspaper.

Memorial United Methodist Church (where I go) is the oldest Methodist church in Florida.

We've had multiple movies filmed here (none of which were any good, except Pippi Longstocking).
