Hola. I've just filled out my draft form, again. I did this thing last year.. it's completely non-scary and stuffs, so no worries! The downside for me is i lost access to my UCAS area, so never replied to the unis (Keele was one of them, whoops). Only applying to Portsmouth this year, hoping to do the online bits tomorrow/Wednesday.

G'luck lass!

Well done, Pie! I got offers from Leeds, Manchester, York and Durham; a rejection from Oxford (sad.gif); and now I'm just waiting for Edinburgh to respond. Exciting times!

What were your first and second choices? Mine are Durham and Manchester now that Oxford is out of the picture.

Champion good yourself, Polo! Did you really really want to go to Oxford? I've met people studying there and nine times out of nine and a half, they're snobby. And the pressure to conform is huge, I'm told unsure.gif
My first choice is York, I'm not sure what my second would be though. I'll wait till I've visited them all, as I haven't been to Liverpool (or Keele or Leeds, from whom I'm awaiting a reply).
And thanks frog smile.gif

York has a very pleasant campus and the city is gorgeous; I'd love to go there. Leeds is lots of fun, vibrant and exciting, and I'd love to go there too! In fact, I'd like to go to anywhere on my list; it's really a shame that I can only do one university.

And yeah, I did quite fancy going to Oxford, especially during the interviews. I don't really care about pressure to conform or snobbishness because I go to a private school at the moment, so I'm tough enough to resist those sorts of things. Also, I'm the biggest snob there! tongue.gif No worries about that sort of thing!

I suppose it would've been a lot of hard work, though, where other places are more relaxed, and that Oxford is quite isolated from other cities. Having said that, it does have some of the most amazing architecture, facilities, teaching and community of any university in the country (hell, even the world). It's a shame not to go, but Durham is just as good in the end. Meh.

*so* not true.. I'd like to say that I'm not snobby! Obviously it does vary from college to college, but at mine, I found that it was very hard to tell who was public schooled and who was state schooled, and there was certainly no overt snobbiness..

Keele has *the* most beautiful campus ever. I mean, really.. if you visit it, it'll blow the others out of the water. I went as Autumn was setting in, so it was all leafy and pretty.. but still, just amazing.

Not received any confirmation of anything yet. Think my tutor is waiting until after the holidays to write his statement/send it off. I'd complain, but i'm probably deferring for a year anyway, so no worries.

Well, I stand corrected tongue.gif it's nice to see someone that goes to Oxford that sounds normal though!

See above: I'm going to Keele 13th March, they want me too!
My interview at York went swimmingly (as it rained) and they've offered good grades, and Leeds offered me a place too. Just waiting for Loughborough now smile.gif
Not that you all need to know, but I'm proud tongue.gif
Anyone else got news??

Yeah, I've gotten replies from all my universities now. I have offers from Durham, Edinburgh, York, Leeds and Manchester and a slap in the face from Oxford. sad.gif

Still, Durham is meant to be a better university for my course (modern history), so I'm going to accept that offer. Leeds is my second choice, and I'm going to an Open Day at Durham in March. Anyone else?

I'm really happy for you lil pie fairy!!

I know how nerve wracking this is --- I'm going through it right now. unsure.gif
But they'd be crazy not to take you laugh.gif

And as far as the interviews go-- I had my first interview the other day and it's not that bad. It's the waiting for an answer that's horrible. I wish you all the best of luck! smile.gif
