Im planning to take this girl i know on a date to the movies. its a first date, should i get her something like roses or chocolate or something stuffed and fuzzy? im only a teen, so i dont have ALOT of money. i neeed to know what to do. can anyone help?

Hmm... I'm British and I've never done the dating thing but I'd say don't get her anything, just offer to buy her popcorn or a drink for the film. If you buy her chocolates or whatever before it seems a little OTT to me, get to know her better first. If you go out again then maybe buy her a small gift but flowers should definately wait a while.

Is it a first date? If so, then buying any type of gift is a sure fire way to come on too strong. As people have said, just buy the tickets and/or popcorny goodness.

it seems like date rape, except there's a chance that you could get the drug in YOUR drink, which in my opinion, would probably have a humorous conclusion the next morning

This way you get to share something during the film, you've obviously put in forethought, you're not coming on too strong, and if needs be then you can talk about favourite sweets. Conversation topics can sometimes be handy if you're nervous, so having a selection of sweets that you might remember from when you were both children can be a useful springboard. anyway, yes we do have something like pick n mix, however there is the whole sneaking it into the theater bit. instead, im just gonna completely pay for everything, my ticket, her ticket, the snacks that i get and the snacks that she gets. (im sort of against sneaking foods into theaters, because they get most of their income from their snack bars) the dates probably going to happen next week, for the main reason that i am about 1,000 miles away on my grandparents farm, earning money to take her out. wish me luck -------------------- I haven't been on for two years O_O...
