Wow. I haven't started a topic in a long-ass time.
Anyway, my brother's girlfriend Becca moved in. Like officially. The basic story is that she was living in Pennsylvania with her parents (she and my brother met through our cousins) and was having some health problems were taking their toll oh her emotionally and mentally. Rick was gonna go visit her last weekend, but couldn't for a number of reasons. Becca then decided to visit here, but soon after a family fight ensued, so she asked if she could stay with us for a little while (she's wanted to move here for a while). We decided to go a step further and have her move in with us. She still has to get a lot of her stuff from her parents' house, but she's pretty set in. She'll be going to UNF with me and Rick in the fall and we're hoping to get in-state tuition (probably won't happen, but hey). She's really cool and she gets along with everyone (Gabrielle loves her). I'm really happy about this and Rick's as happy as a pig in poo. Wish us all luck, and pray for her if you will. She still has a lot of crap to go through and we're still all settling in. -------------------- With every breath...and all that I am...I will make a stand...until the end. |

Good luck with it all. I know what it feels like to have crap to go through, as I'm sure we all do, so hope she sorts it soon

My first law of living happily with others is to set up house rules. It's amazing how the nicest people who you've loved all your life can bug the hell out of you if they continually finish the toilet paper but never buy any to replace it! Anything shared works better if you've got a set of standards to guide your behaviour and it saves arguments later down the line.

(she and my brother met through our cousins) But, they're not cousins...right? I like to think I can live with anyone other than my mother, but that's probably not true. I bet Hitler's a milk stealer... -------------------- He's a freak of nature, but we love him so.

I've found that many people seem to have almost zero household skills, which tends to be somewhat irksome after a little while. When the pile of washing up extends above the level of the sink for days on end things to become tedious.

I have too many house skills and get slightly irritated when other people have house-skill-blinkers. But for some reason, it doesn't actually bother me. I quite enjoy cleaning...
Good luck with the situation, Ri. And remember- a vegetable with googly eyes stuck to it is one of the best arguement resolvers I know. -------------------- We are unraveling our navels so that we may ingest the sun. DARIA IZ GOOD ON TOAST TOAST IZ GOOD ON DARIA |

(she and my brother met through our cousins) But, they're not cousins...right? No, you sick man. Rick met her through my cousin's fiancé, whom we refer to simply as our cousin. They are not related, but rather best friends. -------------------- With every breath...and all that I am...I will make a stand...until the end. |
