I'm sure I've missed some of the big ones, but hey: Vertigo is the only important one.

I voted Marvel because I really really really love the X-Men (it was sad how much I used to know about them, but I was a social outcast and all that, so... comic books!) But I think that a major MAJOR shout out goes to Slave Labor Graphics. The publishers of Jhonen Vasquez and Roman Dirge make me giggle on a regular basis and put out some pretty good philosophy while doing it. Rock the hell on, baby.

And who's publishing the upcoming line of Capcom comic books?

I voted DC because I like Batman. Some of them have a really dark edge to them that is kinda refreshing.

Slave Labor all the way. Then Vertigo (Sandman).

I am not a comic book reader person, sadly. I will hunt down this Sandman which everyone so loves, and third Slave Labor, 'cause that's pretty much all I know.

I grew up on Marvel, but I'm more of a fan of Oni Press, the guys who did the Clerks and Jay and Silent Bob comics. Jim Mahfood is the best underground comic writer/artist ever.

Has anyone ever heard of the comic character Archie? I live down the street from where it was published and created. /spam

Most of my favourite comics - Hellblazer, The Invisibles, Lucifer, Preacher, Sandman and 100 Bullets, to name some - are on DC Vertigo. Vertigo has the best stuff out there, I think.

Hellblazer, Sandman, Lucifer and 100 Bullets are great. I keep meaning to check out Preacher. Whats The Invisibles about?

Also, if you haven't found it yet, I just started reading Transmetropolitan, and its fantastic.

I use too many commas.

Heh, talk about your difficult questions tongue.gif

It's an extremely strange and convoluted tale of conspiracy by Grant Morrison. The world, you see, is locked in an eternal struggle between the unimaginably tyrannical and hideous Outer Church and the anarchic, trascendent, freedom-loving Invisible Army. The story focuses on a boy from Liverpool named Dane, recruited into the Invisibles because of his prodigious psychic powers.

Grant Morrison isn't afraid to completely ignore conventional reality and more or less less his imagination run wild - among the ranks of the Invisibles are Lord Fanny, Brazilian transvestite shaman; Ragged Robin, time-travelling witch; and Jim Crow, voodoo rapper. He takes similar liberties with the plot: I've read the whole thing through twice, and I still don't know what's going on in a lot of places.

It's a series I very strongly recommend, in short biggrin.gif
