when I saw Little Goth Girl, she really struck me as more of a kid, but the voice that she had in the latest one really sounds more mature. .

What an odd comment.

I've never specified an age for LGG, and I doubt I ever will. I think she's somewhere between early teens and early twenties. That's a big range really, and it's a convenient amount of leniency for me when I'm writing the scripts.

Originally she was going to be 'Little Goth Lady', because I felt 'girl' might be a bit demeaning, but frankly it sounded rubbish so I stuck with LGG.

I always did think via appearance she was an older kid, but if you watch them all, it makes sense she's like hs/early college. I know people who are in their 20's hell 50's even and still act like children. So I don't think her age really matters. Let's not get opsessive like The Simpson's fans that point out that Bart & Lisa have graduatied 4th and 2nd grade respectfully at least 3 times rolleyes.gif

I never really thought about how old LGG was, but now I think about what I thought, I guess I see her as about... 15 or 16.

I wasn't suprised at her voice. As someone said earlier you can be older and still act childish. I thought it the opposite, more like late teens but with that real little girlish moments that make her a believable character.

For a guy Mata you have a quite a good view of how a Little Goth Girl would act and react in my opinion.

i dunno...the fact that she enjoys spending her time on a space-hopper struck me as a wee-bit more childish than i had imagined her...i always imagined her as in college, though. The college counselor made me think that, and then the fact that she lives on her own (Well...no mother...we all know the pre-occupations of her father) and the fact that she had a mighty impressive chem-lab set.
Also, just a quick question..is the doggie in LGG and the space hopper the same as the dog in the easter animation?

You're never too old for space hoppers. I was on one only a couple of week's ago.

No Xkit, Devils and the dog in the Easter animation are not the same. The only relationship could possibly be through reincarnation, but I've never intended that to be part of my script.

Nooo...not Devils..the one that LGG hops over with her space hopper, silly happy.gif Devils and the easter dog look nothing alike, but the dog that she hopped over and the easter dog look identical...check it out.
And please, Manji...see? it's on my icon and everything.

Once I heared that Sarah was going to have a voice, I knew darn well you'd be getting your belovéd to voice her. I really didn't have much for expectations as to how she would saoud, as her voice changed depending on who among my friends decided to narrate the episode (we did voices and everything). I say Sarah's voice should stay.

Manji it is then, but bear in mind I'm rubbish with names and may slip.

I was going to answer this a while ago, but my connection died so I could post it.

Yes, you're right, that is the same dog from the easter animation, I just thought it might be fun to put a cross-reference in there for regulars on my site. I also liked the idea that maybe the dog had been running around since the time of Christ, a bit like the Wandering Jew of the canine world... Then again, maybe I just think about things too much...

Does it matter how old she is? Its a good piece of entertainment... Dont read too deeply into it. Fixing an age makes it rigid, which takes away some of the humour tongue.gif

My first guess was that she was 16-19
in the first animations, isn't her school called somthing like
Zurel's COLLEGE of higher learning?
maybe i read it wrong.... wink.gif

Yep, it is a college, so I thin that her age is at the minimum around 16ish. Then again, if people want to believe that she is younger than that then I also have no problem.

As I said before, the 'girl' in the title was purely to prevent dissonance, no other reason.

My daughter commented on LGG.

"Mum, she sounds just like us".

She meant both voice and content.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
