(I know i said i wouldn't post for a month, but i suppose this is my one exeption, seeing as it's an emergency)

Have you ever had a nosebleed?
Like, a really bad, unprovoked nosebleed?
That lasted for 10 min
just pouring, a constant, steady, quick speed...

this has happened to me about a month ago, for two weeks, and just this morning, it started again. i woke up, and thought i had snot on my pillow or something icky like that, so i wiped it, and i felt a huge puddle of blood underneath my head.
but this time, it didn't last 10 min.
It's going on 20 mins, and my mom is two towns away, and i am home alone.
none of my friends can come, nor my mango (current sweetheart) Greg, because they all either have senior project or work.

I'm feeling wuite light headed, and the nosebleed is still going on. i have a cotton ball quite uncomfortably wedged in my nose, so i was wondering- - -is this signs of having a brain tumor or something?
I think it might be a stress nosebleed, but i was having a rather naughty dream, and i recall something in japanese anime when you have naughty thoughts, you get a nosebleed...that's what i thought after the initial shock.

i wish my nosebleed would end so i can eat some of the christmas tree cakes i have...they are tasty-licious.

I've never had a spontaneous nosebleed (since being knocked in the nose isn't spontaneous).

Mebbe you should have it looked at? Or ask someone medical?

Go to the doctor.

My other half used to suffer from nosebleeds like that and they turned out to be migraine related (he suffers rather badly from cluster headaches).

Also, I believe sudden nosebleeds can be a sign of high blood pressure? That normally wouldn't be a problem for someone at your age but you never know.

*puts on 1st aid hat*
(I am qualified by the way)

If a nose bleed starts from no apparent cause (eg: not been hit in face first) and continuse for over 20 mins its worth seeing the doctor about it. Sometimes its just a 'one of those things' sometimes it means stuff like high blood pressure and stress as mentioned and sometimes other stuff, such as sinus problems, cysts/polyps in the upper nasal passages and so on.

Try the NHS direct website they are really good for easy to understand info on that sort of thing.

I used to get them a lot when I was a kid; like every second week or something, it'd just start gushing, and I'd just have to hold tissues under my nose until it stopped. Best thing is to go to your GP and ask them, coz it could be a whole number of things, some of which could be serious, others of which are just plain silly. You don't pick your nose often do you? ;p jk.

It's not because of high blood pressure, actually, according to my doctor, i have freakishly low blood pressure, the best he's ever seen...though i doubt that's because of my easy-going lifestyle.
i have lots of stressors.
Especially as of late.
I really think it is because of stress...
(*note- Manji is not a very happy person)
Yeah, so i just wanted to post this thread...for whatever...i guess. now marks my official hiatus from Matazone.

Yup, I get those. For me it was because I got bit by a dog when I was a kid (and have a cut/scar on the inside of my nose from it), and since your nose it always wet on the inside it never totally heals. So when it gets hot or dry outside I can get unprevoked nosebleeds that last along time. Course I have some goo stuff I'm supposed to put on it when ever its a dry or hot day. But meh.
I also have a couple of friends who have had there noses cotorized. Which I believe is the common way for stopping excessive bleeding.
Oh and as a tip to stop them faster. Take a piece of kleenex, rip some off and put it in your nose. Leaving it there for about 5 minutes (dont ake it out or move it or anything) should clot the blood and make it stop bleeding.

Go to the doctor. This could be something very serious, or very trivial. It may be a bleeding disorder, which could have serious consequences for you if you don't get some prompt treatment.

While it might not be anything serious at all, it is definitely something that you should get checked out. So far it seems to have happened at times that weren't too inconvenient, but if it happens in the future then it might cause more problems (for example, if you were in the passenger seat of a car then I'm sure the driver would lose some concentration if you suddenly begin beleeding lots!).

It's always best to get these things checked.

'Hope the stressful things lighten *hugs*
