How's your weather? First snowball fight of the season happened today, as slushy snow (or as the radio announcer said, snush, uhh, slushy snow) replaced the rain that was falling up here in northern Illinois. 3-6 inches, so probably snow for Thanksgiving! smile.gif

In the land of Lincoln snow is plenty... it's been snowing all day long but it melts on the cement.

we have light flakes in ny that are refusing to stick right now, and rather pretending they are rain, but a few weeks ago we got an inch or two of the real stuff.

Calgary has a chinook. It's a warm western wind that raises the temperature in winter 10 - 20 degrees. It's 6 celcius right now and the little bit of snow we have is all melting away. smile.gif
Tomorrow -8 degrees. laugh.gif Calgary is the twilight zone of weather, it really is.

Spattering rain, wet, dark, very cold, and generally miserable here.

...oh, I loves it.

Now if only we could get the heat to turn on.

The chinook finished last night and the temperature has dropped about 20 degrees. It's snowing and it's a rather cold -12 celcius tonight. The roads have turned icy but it is very beautiful.

That's right - your country is where summer goes when winter comes to Canada. smile.gif Lie on the beach in the summer sun and think of us poor freezing people. tongue.gif

Gotten too cold for snow. It's -15 celcius right now (6ish am) and will drop to -23 celcius tonight. Taking my sweater to work today and maybe a second pair of socks.

*the american looks at celcius temperatures with a vacant smile and glazed eyes*
it's just rather rainy and nasty over here.. I'd like to blame it on Bush, but it would be rather hard. Seeing as I'm quite damp, I'm not in the mood for that. I wish it would just get on with it and snow dry.gif

On Saturday it was 0 celcius or colder and now its around 16, its getting stuffy in my room which is quite warmer than it is outside. I have my window open and its raining. Stupid Kentucky weather, it doesn't seem to make up its mind.

I whish it would snow, I would like to take pictures of a snow covered campus.

The Celsius (or Centigrade) scale is really quite simple, it's a scale based on water.

0 degrees celsius is when water freezes, 100 degrees celsius is when water boils.

On this scale normal body temperature is about 37 and snow usually occurs between 0 and +3 degrees.

celsius / fahrenheit converter

It's POURING! And has been for over 24 hours. Shouldn't be, though. Winter serves but one purpose: snow. Considerable amount of snow= no school. No school makes Meg happy. Otherwise winter is just cold and drab sleep.gif

They ended up calling it Jinx, because while it was a friendly

was easier, at least among their circle of friends, to simply say
"Jinx" when Sophie wasn't to be trusted around anything that could
possibly be influenced by this particular trait of hers.

It's been summer, then fall, then spring, now early winter - all in the last four days!
Winter is strange, in S.C.!

Ah yes, I remember good old SC winters... Cold enough to be annoying with no snow to make it worth it, then warm enough to make you take off all your winter stuff, then suddenly cold enough to make you wish you'd just kept it... Just remember, it's all Atlanta's fault! tongue.gif

Here in Seattle it's cold and rainy and occasionally cold and slushy. Right now we're fighting flooding due to snow melt and a typhoon that rode the jet stream right up to us.
