There's a rumor (no, I didn't just make it up! XD) that in the sixth book, Harry and his friends will have Magical Sex Ed classes. They will learn some very interesting spells, like penile erectus and the vastly popular masturbatum.

What thinks?

*looks up* Where? wink.gif

Apologies if this has been posted before but.

R.E. The next Harry Potter, apparently according to a post I found on the PC Gamer UK Forums:

(Oh, and if Harry has to cast a spell to get an erection, he's got some serious problems.)

'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' is COMPLETED and has been delivered to my English language publishers, who hope to announce the publication date within 24 hours.

Although I have joked about HP&THBP racing my third baby into the world, I have in fact had all the time I needed to tinker with the manuscript to my satisfaction and I am as happy as I have ever been with the end result. I only hope you feel that it was worth the wait when you finally read it!

Wishing everybody a wonderful holiday and a happy and peaceful 2005,

UPDATE:
Bloomsbury Publishing PLC wrote:
J.K. ROWLING'S HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE
TO BE PUBLISHED ON 16th JULY, 2005 IN THE UNITED KINGDOM, THE UNITED STATES, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND AND SOUTH AFRICA

LONDON, ENGLAND: NEW YORK, NY, USA: 12 noon London, 21st December, 2004

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, by J.K. Rowling, the sixth in the bestselling series, has been scheduled for publication on 16th July, 2005 in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, it was announced today by Bloomsbury and Scholastic, her British and American publishers. On her website, www.jkrowling.com, J.K. Rowling announced last night that she had completed the book and delivered the manuscript to her two English language publishers.

In making the joint announcement, Nigel Newton, Chief Executive of Bloomsbury Publishing in the United Kingdom and Barbara Marcus, President of Scholastic Children's Books in the United States, said: "We are delighted to announce the publication date. J.K. Rowling has written a brilliant story that will dazzle her fans in a marvellous book that takes the series to yet greater heights. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince delivers all the excitement and wonder of her bestselling Harry Potter novels."

In the previous book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the last chapter, titled 'The Second War Begins,' started:

'In a brief statement on Friday night, Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge confirmed that He Who Must Not Be Named has returned to this country and is once more active.

"It is with great regret that I must confirm that the wizard styling himself Lord — well, you know who I mean — is alive and among us again," said Fudge.'

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince takes up the story of Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at this point as Voldemort’s power and followers are increasing day by day, in the midst of this battle of good and evil.

The author has already said that the Half-Blood Prince is neither Harry nor Voldemort. Intriguingly, the opening chapter of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been brewing in J.K. Rowling's mind for 13 years.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, J.K. Rowling's fifth Harry Potter book, was released on 21st June, 2003, and was the fastest-selling book in history on the first weekend of its publication. All five Harry Potter books, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, as well as Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, have all been Number One bestsellers in the United Kingdom, the United States and around the world.

Bloomsbury will be publishing their standard children's hardback edition (ISBN 0747581088) and in addition an adult hardback edition (ISBN 074758110X), (the same text but with a different jacket) at the same time and both editions have a Recommended Retail Price of £16.99.

Sale of the book in all time zones preceding the United Kingdom is embargoed until 00:01 am BST (British Summer Time) on Saturday 16th July, 2005.

Well, it's going to be a long wait then!

I'm more curious as to which part of his parentage makes him royalty...I mean, is he somehow related to the muggle royal family or is it an entirely seperate wizarding monarchy?

My money's on it being a new character to this book, maybe a first year?

I think in the case where both parents are muggles magical children seem to occur randomly, it's not like where one parent's magical when it's almost a certainty, they're like squibs, just more common as I understand it....

Hahaha.. I would laugh very hard if that were true... but it is very unlikely I suppose...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/arts/4113663.stm

Anyway, I think that the prince will be someone who has appeared in the other books but not significantly.... or maybe significantly... but you only realise the characters significance from this book.

The half-blood prince has been described by JK before:

He looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp.

as far as I can tell, this character is completly new.

also, JK has also said herself that aunt petunia IS a squib.

yes, I'm obbsesed... biggrin.gif

Also, on her site, she has tons of mini-puzzles for you to solve (unless you use the text-only version) otherwise, when you solve these puzzles she shows you a picture from her oringanal book, facts about what the charactures name USED to be, and so on. Also, she will put to rest any rumors that may be going around.

PS. IF you open that mysterious door when It doesn't have the DO NOT DISTURB sign on it, she will give you some exclusive info. about the sixth book.

(it's truly pathatic that I know this much about harry potter, isn't it?)

A squib is a person who was born to a magical family but isn't magical themselves.

I've always been the geek lined up at midnight, but I doubt I will this time around. I was annoyed by how hard she was trying to make Harry ooze with teen angst. Among other things involving character axing. *grumbles* Or maybe I've just grown out of them? Or my digust at the overcommercialisation had made me finally snap.

Doesn't mean I won't read it. -.-;;

I was wondering if Hagrid could be the Half-Blood Prince. Prince on the Giant side of things. He'd have a chance to find out when he contacts his giant relatives. I think Dumbledore sent him off to persuade them not to join Lord Voldemort.

I was suprised when she killed off Sirius Black. My vote for major character death was her anti-hero Serverus Snape.

So, laugh.gif probably not Hagrid.
