This may be an odd question, but does anyone know anywhere in London where I can get some mead? Or perhaps somewhere I can order some from?
It's been an age and a half since I could taste the delicious honeyed nectar... any help would be appreciated.

Your best might might be to make your own; I've seen a few recipes on the Internet, and it doesn't look particularly difficult, especially if you've got a taste for the stuff and plan on making more of it. Give it a Google.

look in small specialised off licenses

Moniac is one of the best

Sometimes you can get in in Morrisons supermarkets, but its the cheap stuff and not very nice.

Here in Norfolk you can buy it al over the place!

Hmm, I generally wouldn't recommend making your own alcohol beverages. Remember all those people who got themselves killed during the Prohibition period? Well, that might only apply to spirits or certain drinks, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Also, simply ordering stuff would be faster and would probably taste much better.

Thanks, Google is indeed my friend.
7.50 a bottle for fine Scottish mead. Apparently it's the same stuff a mate of mine gets too.
So in three days I should have it! Aha!

Not sure if anyone else ehre drinks the stuff, but theres the link if you fancy a looksie.

Local chapter of the society for creative anachronism would probably be able to get you some also. How to contact them is a mystery to me as I wandered away from said club after university.

Lindesfarne is harder to get hold of I've found, and more expensive.
Moniack is cheap and easy to get hold of near me.

Yep, I tried to get hold of some Lindisfarme but it is almost impossible unless you go near the place.

A pity, as I have been there before as a child and I would love some of their mead if only for the emotional effect.

Moniack is the only one I've found online that actually delivers to your house. Which I thought was surprising.

I'm not saying it easy but Lindisfarme is the one I'm most likely to get hold of in fact there's at least one shop 20 min's from me I know I can get it and the wine to which is also yummy.

My mead come through today! I tried a little and it was quite delicious. Very sweet, quite fruity and extremely alcoholic. I recommend it to all!

OMG, I had a paranoid dream about my mead last night in which my sister drank all my mead. I was all like, "You stupid bitch! You drank all my mead!" And she just didn't care.

I shouldn't have had that cheese...

After an evening of extensive scientific research (ahem), I have deducted that mead is very very naughty.

*noddles*

Very naughty.

Lindisfarne is (or at least was last time I was in London) available from Soho wine stores 5 minutes walk from Totenham Court tube station. If anyone happens to bump into a supply of Doomsday let me know (It was worth signing up just to reply to this post ;pp)...

Failing that you can do like I do and order a crate from Lindisfarnes web site (Lindisfarne)

I recall a bunch of people at a meet for officers of various guilds in the mmorpg I was playing at the time curled up on the floor in agony after some truly spectacular drinking of mead (like, four bottles or something. There were about five of them.)

I am intrigued now. I may buy some. The fruity wines on the Lindisfarne site also look interesting.
