It's 'Kaiser Chiefs'. [oops, cheers for the correction LB]

I don't know either of the previously mentioned tracks, but my favourite, if I had to pick a single song, would be 'My Kingdom' by Future Sound Of London. There are a couple of great versions of it, I think the 11 minute one is great, but there was a 25ish minute mix performed live on an old John Peel Sessions show back in 1996 which I've recently been quite keen on.

Hrm... songs I like.

"But Anyway, Hook, and Run Around" by Blues Traveler. "Music of the Night" from Phantom. "She Has A Girlfriend Now, Kiss Me Deadly, and Scott's a Dork" by Reel Big Fish. "King of Swing, Ding DOng Daddy of the D Car Line, and I Like It" by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. It goes without saying that there are others, though.

Problem is is that I really _detest_ Linkin Park. Hate 'em.

I like too many different songs and bands to decide. But if I had to chose then probably Nancy Boy by Placebo, it gives me butterflies in my tummy... blink.gif
Infact, most stuff by Placebo does...

I'm not so good at narrowing it down to songs. Favourite bands on the other hand I can do.

*looks at audioscrobbler*

Nine Inch Nails, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, System of a Down, Guano Apes, Fear Factory, Mastodon, AFI and The Deftones are all rather nifty (though a rather eclectic mix). I guess it's the variety that makes it hard to pick favourites.

According to audioscrobbler, its Hidden In Plain View - Garden Statement and Boy Hits Car - Man Without Skin. Those are probably just passing favourites though and not likely to stick. Garden Statement especially, though Man Without Skin may be a keeper.

In the long term, songs that have stuck with me include many by the Lightning Seeds (especially Pure and Waiting For Today To Happen), a few R.E.M songs (Sweetness Follows and Beat A Drum), High Hopes by Pink Floyd and a couple of AFI songs - Morningstar and God Called In Sick Today. And of course, this list wouldn't be complete without me praising The Connells - 74 75 some more.

Eclectic? How in the name of greek buggery is that selection eclectic? I would group those bands fairly close together myself, unless Guano Apes, Fear Factory and Mastadon are cheesy pop, ska/punk and R&B...I'm guess not tongue.gif
(The word Mastodon reminds me of Power Rangers tongue.gif >_>)

I honestly don't have a favourite song at the moment, here's a selection of bands/artists in my collection:
AFI
Norah Jones
Nightwish
Greenday
Skunk Anansie
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Dido

...oh, and I'm pretty sure I have Avril Lavigne and David Grey locked away somewhere tongue.gif

I'm currently in a stage where I don't like any music.

This will wear off in approximately 10 mins when I hear a song that stirs up uber emotions in me.

If you look at my audioscrobbler you will see I can't live without music, my dad thinks that it's impossible to listen to music as much as AS says I do... but it's all true!

Mhmm, true. The full list has more variety to it, I think. Maybe I should just cut my losses and admit that maybe it was a bad choice of word.

Well, currently I have lined up in my Winamp list Finley Quaye (who co-wrote songs with Bob Marley), Minx (an ambient/intelligent drum'n'bass group from the mid-90s that only released one track called 'Dreamtime'), and Smog (a country singer from the US). It's certainly not definitive, but I'd class that as eclectic!

'Dreamtime' by Minx is another one of my all-time-favourite tracks. It's aged a bit, but it still very nice to listen to.

Ha! You'll never guess what's happened... The guy who wrote 'Dreamtime' found my post about his track through Google and has emailed me asking if I'd like to hear anything else he made! Woohoo! He's a member of the forums, username Minx. He's not posted, but I'm still immensely excited that a musician whose work I really liked has got in contact with me because of this thread!

What a great thing the internet really is!
