I know that total blackness is from a loss of hearing.

It's hard to imagine what it would be like to have a total abscence of vision, as if man evolved without eyes?

Our brains fill the void with darkness if we are blind. What if it didn't?

...Just a little tidbit stuck in my mind.

If we had no eyes our brains would use the extra space for other senses. On being given eyes later in life we wouldn't be able to see. sad.gif

Some distressing experiments with kittens have proved this happens with cats. Check the sensory experiments listed in first year psychology textbooks for proof.

Wouldn't suprise me much if human brains, no matter how spicy, worked the same way. On the good side; a person who could see as a child, later went blind, and had their sight somehow restored would be able to see again. The brain would know how to wire up to accept that information.
