I was under the impression that the Church of Satan was an organisation, rather than an actual building. If you're looking for other people in your area, finding a Satanism forum or suchlike may be a good idea. Google has many-a-hit on the subject.

Firstly, I think that this belongs somewhere else than daft. It seems if one is really dedicated to seeking something even remotely spiritual, then it would be in a forum corresponding to the severity and seriousness of the matter.

Secondly, I think that you are being inflamatory and obviously have no idea of the true sentiments of Satanism. If you are going for shock value, then you won't really be able to do that here - there are too many people from too many backgrounds to do that. (As a side note, if this becomes anti-Christian - and I can sense a bit of that sort of air - I will be rather offended)

Thirdly, if you were truly dedicated to this, it seems you would have been able to take the time to write out "prince of darkness."

Fourthly, this is a message board. E-mail shouldn't be required.

Fifthly, have a nice day.

Whoa there Mike. Might be an idea to remember that some people may not be entirely familiar with the workings of a forum, and seeing as rwb posted in Daily Life as well, it's possible. After all, Daft is used for somewhat everything. It may also be worth remembering that there are different views on Satanism, and that they are, by definition, anti-Christian. Let's not get drawn into what 'true' Satanism is and isn't, eh?

Fine. I won't be agressive, but in the same manner that many "Satanists" bitch and moan about criticism and a lack of acceptance, I as a Christian feel the same. So I won't go looking for trouble, but if it's here, I won't ignore it either.

Apologies for offense.

I must remind everyone here about my BIG idea:

Keep thy religion to thyself!

So, in order to help this, we should have a point in the rules to post, in the TITLE and FIRST LINE OF FIRST POST that some religion is involved...

this is just an idea but i would believe a good one.

Thanks.

Everyone is entitled to their own religion. I'm just protecting mine.

That is completely impossible. Just as my feelings on things are dictated by my experiences and my person inate, religion plays a factor into my judgement. While I'm admitteldy against the church in many facets (abortion, gay rights, etc.) I have to side with the church on this one - Satan's bad. Satanism isn't good. I won't go about killing Satanists, but damned if I'll agree with it. So my opinions on the matter of Satanism are bound a bit by religion. It can't really be helped.

ah... but you just said that it wasnt religion that guides that, but your own feelings...

That is very important, considering that the god you end up following (the definition of organized religion there) is actually in most respects the mirror of your own beliefs...

so truthfully you actually believe these things but you choose to follow a god that reflects the majority of your beliefs. so should you all just forgo the lovely naming of your respective gods it would all just solve many problems!

it is a great idea if you thnk about it...

Well, I wouldn't say that religion = following a god. I mean, Buddhism does not have a god, unless I am mistaken, and Satanism (in general) is atheistic. Yet they are still religions.

Err...I suppose you could just call them Religion 1, Religion 2 etc., but if you ask me, that's PC going too far.

I understand what voices is saying, but I think it's inaccurate. I don't think God condones murder in any form, but I do. We disagree on key issues, but that doesn't mean that I don't still believe in an all powerful, all knowing, all loving being that runs everything. I think that I undersatnd God as the way He wants me to understand him and trust me. My God is not a complete mirror of my beliefs.
