Muffins are pretty basic as far as baking goes. I hate storebought mixes cuz they're all perservative-y and full of lots of unnecissary stuff.

But! How do you make your muffins? You might just need a different recipe

Adding the baking soda as one of the last ingredients to go into the batter is supposed to be good for fluffy muffins.

I agree with K!77y though - maybe you just need one or two good recipes. What type of muffins are you trying to make?

Try soaking the blueberries in a little water or juice for a few hours before hand, a dash of lemon adds a little bite to it too.
Same goes if you are using raisins and/or currants.

My mom made muffins once without using a recipe. You just need to know how to get the consistancy. Flour, eggs, milk and baking soda are just about all the ingrediants you need. Add your other stuff and BOOM! Muffins.

If you're not so good at abstract stuff then try a couple recipes, one's bound to work. And if you're lazy I'll go get my muffin recipe for ya

Edit: Most things bake at 350-375 F

Or, you could just try and be helpful instead of crying "Use Google n00b!".

Kindly stfu if you can't help. Cheers babe.

As for my muffin recipe, well, I just make your bog standard muffin mixture and literally shove loads of chocolate in there. If you put whole blocks in, sometimes if comes out semi melted. Had one like this the other day and it was the sex. Seriously.

Did you want recipes? People would probably post them if they knew you wanted them. I agree with Wyvern that soaking the berries first might help. Try soaking them with a small bit of boiling water.

Anyone know if Kisah's computer is reassembled? She's an excellent cook.

As general advice, you should try and use fresh (or at least frozen) fruits for your muffins if you make them by scratch. Although, you can often puff up freeze-dried if you put them in a cup and microwave them briefly (15 seconds?) (This works marvelously for raisins in your oatmeal.)

I have a friend who made the ultimate muffin cake thing. It was like one long muffin, but it was sooo gorgeous. I'll try and get the recipe from him so that you can try it out too.

Also, about the blueberries going hard, you could always push them in afterwards, that is if you don't mind having fingerholes in your muffins. rolleyes.gif
