I was at my Aunt's this weekend and I saw a couple of really funny names so I had an idea for this thread. I basically want to know strange shop names from ones you've seen.

So here's the one that started me thinking:

Video Monkey

For a video store I thought it was fantastic. So what have you seen?

There's a shop in Camden Town, a borough of London, called Fairy Goth Mother. I always liked that name.

I always wondered how shops named "Naf Naf" managed to stay in business with a name that could be taken as a decription of product quality. Not that I've ever actually been in one.

This isn't really about the buildings' name, but more about what happened to it.

My Grandpa lives in a really old, beat-up town that still has the oringinal brick streets and some of the oringinal buildings. One of them is just a hollow wall, with no foundation left or anything. The edges of the wall are all black and charred, and you can still read the old sign: Firestation.

After that, I was kinda worried about staying in that town in case a fire broke out.

The comic book retailers Abstract Sprocket have, imo, the best name ever.

Down the main street here there is a shop called 'Bags & nags'. Such a srange name, even for a shop that sells bags.

"As seen on TV". A sad attempt at being clever with the name of their store, which could be more appropriately named, "Junk that doesn't work, so we sell it on infomercials".

While I was with my Auntie Julie I saw "Off the back of a lorry". After seeing inside I had the strange feeling that it really was a shop Del-boy would've been proud of

Yummy Taste and Holy Wang, Chinese restaurants both. I'm also a fan of Toilet Water, a punk store near me.

Still, a local strip mall takes the cake. All the shops, in order:

In Scunthorpe there's a Public Hair Salon with the first L missing. It makes me laugh so hard that they haven't bothered to get the sign replaced.

I have either seen it (though I can't say when I've been there) or there is anotherone somewhere in the country.

There used to be a chicken shop in Lee called Lee Roy years ago. Only recently have I truly appreciated it fully.

I don't know if this was on purpose or not, but one of them was named fuk-uo
