There is this lovely, lovely shirt I want to buy, but I don't know if I should.

(Ignore the shapes in the corners).

It's gorgeous; it's UV reactive, with blue around the edges that only shows up under UV and makes the wings look like they are glowing.
But it's £25 short sleeve, £28 long sleeve (I can't find a P&P amount anywhere); I'm a student, *but* I just got a £110 deposit back!
(Another reason is that I'm hoping to get a job in an internet café, and the only 'appropriate' clothing are a few Matrix style t-shirts/shirts I have, as well the fact that it just looks like an awesome design).

But.... Look how pretty! *drools* So what do you guys think? Should I buy it?

hmm, £25 is a lot of money for a t-shirt imo, but it is a very cool design. I say buy it. you'll regret not having the shirt more than you'd regret not having the money.

That is a very cool design, but it's also a lot more than I've ever spent on a T-shirt... I'd normally go to a wholesaler and buy five plain T-shirts for the same price. They're not as interesting, but it's good economy. Personally I wouldn't, but I don't usually have that kind of money to spend: if you've got the money and you want the T-shirt then do it! There is an argument though that if you're so uncertain that you have to ask us then maybe you're not 100% convinced to buy it so maybe you shouldn't... Which doesn't help you at all!

I DO want it, personally I would buy it, I just thought I should ask you guys' opinions as to whether it would be a good idea or not.
I don't buy new shirts all that often, usually happy just to wear what I have...

It was the deposit from the last house I stayed in (I should have gotten back over £240 but the twunting landlord has charged me £100 or so for "leaving blu tack on the walls and leaving it dusty meaning it needs redecorating" which is absolute dingoes kidneys *holds back RAGE*). But I didn't have to pay a deposit on the new place I'm in, just rent every month (for which I have my student loan), and my job pays for food, so I have a little extra money smile.gif

Yeup, it sure is. I was in London on my way home the other week and thought it would be a shame to be right next to Camden Market and not visit. I can't go to Camden Market without getting sucked into Cyberdog <3 <3

Landlords are notoriously irritating when it comes to returning deposits. One place a I stayed in nearly killed us with the landlord's bad wiring and so along with my rent cheque that month I also sent a letter of complaint. I never had a response but the cheque was never cashed. 18 months later I leave the place, ask for my deposit back, and they say 'oh, but you didn't pay one month so we've taken your deposit'. Gits. They knew they were in the wrong, because how many rent agencies do you know that wouldn't mention you'd missed a month until the time you are leaving? Humph. Oh well.

Gits indeed! That's just underhanded. Bold faced duck flaps that they are!
This landlord is a nasty NASTY man (I'm sure I bad mouthed him to you at least once). I told him when I would give him rent, but he would phone me up and BULLY me for it despite what I told him; he'd leave 'letters' (for example, I cleaned the house up to the best of my abilities for when he came to see the house, but oh no, it was filthy, and there were piles of laundry everywhere (ie, I hadn't had time to take my laundry out of the machine yet because I was cleaning!) and left a letter after he left saying that he had left it in a "much better condition than they found it in" *FUME*. Ack, No, must stop before I rant further about how horrible he is.

My current landlord is completely ace, as he is proving at the moment. We had a house inspection earlier this month, the report was sent to him mentioning that the back gate was a bit knackered, the fence could do with replacing, and that a couple of the taps were beginning to drip but none of it was in urgent need of changing. The day he got the letter he went out and bought a new gate, came around and installed it, he's doing the fence soon and might do the shed while he's at it, and he's fixed all the taps! Bonzer (as the Australians probably don't say)!

Looks very snaz.
If I may be so bold as to spend your money wink.gif my temptation would be to buy.

I'm presuming its from a site or catalogue so you cant really tell its quality? £25 is pricey but if its good quality then go for it! By UV reactive do you mean those plasticy/felty/that soft squidgy material that I dont know the name of stuff printed/sewn onto the shirt? If so, washing may limit lifespan and for £25 you want lifespan.

I used to have an Ash T-shirt about the time of 'Free all Angels' - Big Angel with widespread wings on the back similiar to the design up there- Blindin' Shirt it was...miss it sadly... washed a few too many times sad.gif

I'm liking it though and would ere on the side of the little shopping devil biggrin.gif

Mine's ok, he seems a little reluctant to spend any money on the place and spent a year fixing a leaky roof, but that's not being mean, he's just forgetful/unmotivated.

Ah the curse of blutack I learnt my lesson about the evil stuff 3 years or so ago, but painting over it with the right colour (which happened to be sat in a pot in the basement, conveniently) sorted that problem.

Fixing the big hole in the wall from a botched cable installation was a bit trickier but still seemed to work.

</smug-git>

The current landlord, on the other hand is a pain. Downstairs shower needs regrouting, upstairs shower causes water to pour from the light fixture on the kitchen ceiling. :S

Another answer to the blutak problem, pull it off and paint the hole in the paper with same colour paint which is magnolia if it like ant of the rented house I've lived in. It's even less obvious then painting over the blutac. I got very good at dry brushing walls so the paint blended in at uni. My Landlady was a fear when it came to having the place tidy there was NO way to get to her standards. But she never noticed that we'd flooded the bath room because I'm just that good! biggrin.gif

The tshirts cool if its of a deasont quality and you think you'll get a good amount of wear out of it go for it.
