I liked it. Is it based on a true story? I ask because something similar happened to my uncle.

Indeed he does. This is interesting and very random. I admit to not understanding it, but I think Mata has an odd phobia of choking on objects that do strange things. I suppose this has some deep psychological meaning that I don't understand. Setting the word "vanished" away from the rest of the poem has a nice effct, though.

Yeah, I need to make the blog part of my routine. I tend to forget that it exists until Mata puts up an informative link to it. *shakes head* Maybe I'll make it a New Year's resolution to read the blog. If I follow through, it'll be my first successful one. tongue.gif

Well, there is the informative link in my sig, alternatively you could install RSS on your machine (I use a Firefox one that scrolls across the bottom of my borwser), hook it up to my feed, and that will tell you about the new and silly things that I've found.

But the link is so TINY in comparison to the "click the banners" bit.... It gets all lost. Most people are too lazy to install RSS.... *cough*me*cough*

Oo, that's a nice one. I use InfoRSS, I think... It was ages ago that I installed it. It scrolls new features across the bottom of my browser. 'Tis very good.

1) I really like this. Peculiar and whimsical, like all my favorite short stories. The picture makes it even more lovely--reminds me of The Phantom Tollbooth's ink drawings.
2) I just began reading the blog and congratulations on finishing the thesis! That's fantastic! You should have a crazy thesis-finished party!
3) Digital Shakespeare makes me happy. I think I might like to make a project out of turning the poems into songs, but not now. Midterms and all that.

Wow, that looks really brisk and businesslike. Ah, well.

1 Thanks!
2 The first full draft is finished, so now I'm in the editing stage. It's going to probably take another month before it's really ready.
3 I like DS too, but I've not heard from him/her/it for a few months now and I feel quite sad about it!

Well, I've read a bit of the blog. Congratulations on finishing the first draft of your thesis! I would like to see a chapter or two if you want to post it, and good luck getting it published. smile.gif I'll just try to click the blog link in your sig once a day or something, as it's very interesting.
I liked the statement you put in the intelligent design comments. It's a good bit more sensible than the arguments about intelligent design v. creationism v. evolution on another forum I visit. Those usually boil down to "Ooh, look, a tree. Sure is pretty. God must have created everything!" on one side and some logic that eventually degenerates into frustrated rants on the other.

Yeah, I miss Digi-Shakey's poems. I wonder what happened to him/her/it?

New trojans come out and take over the machines that were being run by old ones. I can't imagine that the DS trojan was very good at making people open the attachments, so it probably didn't spread as far as the maker would have liked. Still, I find it a little bit sad that it's gone.
