"To beard or not to beard, that is the question, whether it is nobler suffer the slings and arrows of an itchy beard or to take arms against a sea of hursuitness and by shaving end it." Shakespeare (honest)

alright girls this is a question for you... and any guys that may be interested (hey I'm not sexist).

Do you like your guys to be manly and bearded or peach faced and smooth. I ask because my wife likes me with a beard, a couple of the girls at work seem to think i look a little odd without my beard, I am trying to work out whether this is due to familiarity with the little chin warmer or an honest preference for facial hair. Go for it, Tell me, I can take it smile.gif

Hmmm.

I was vehemently against beards for ages. The reason? My dad. He has...well...quite an impressive beard. And by impressive I mean huge and bushy.

But then...a certain moop decided to grow one. dry.gif Nothing like my dad's, mind you (thank GOD. It's bad enough they have the same first name)...but a beard all the same. He looks much younger than his actual age without it, so it's good cause it makes me feel like I'm not a pervy old lady or something. Plus I've just gotten used to it.

So...I dunno. It depends on the person, really, and the type of beard. I will always, always still be against these kind of beards, though (that's what my dad aspires to have his look like). But as long as it's not messy and suits your face shape, then sure. Beard away.

AAAAAAAAH! It's ZZ Top!!!

Sorry. Childhood scars.
I hate beards, mainly because.. well, my dad had one biggrin.gif But a little bit of beardness is ok, like on the bottomof the chin but no moustache involved. Moustaches are the evil of the world.

An ex of mine has a beard and when he shaved it the first time whilst I was seeing it knocked me for a loop to be honest. He did actually look better with the beard though in it's many incarnations (it was forever changing shape). The last bloke I was seeing shaved which I kind of prefered but not enough to be that bothered one way or the other.
So to sum up my reply I'm of no help at all. tongue.gif

I like goatees.... I'm not exactly sure why. They're a younger kind of style than a beard, I guess. But they really make me flip tongue.gif I love goatees and I tend to stroke people's goatees when I'm around them....

I think mostly I'm just jelous because I want a goatee to stroke when I'm thinking, but alas, I'm a girl.... =(

Soul patches arent bad either.

Beards I'm not too fond of, though..

I don't really care either way if the beard is kept trimmed neatly. Long poofy beards are just scary and strange. So if the beard is under control and fits the guy then I'm fine with it. smile.gif
My dad had a moustache until last year, but he shaved it off and now he looks several years younger. Mom likes it, and apparently every woman at his small office told him he looked much nicer without the moustache.

I like either. It really depends on the fellow in question.

I don't like stubble. If you're going to go beard then grow it out to the soft stage at least. Not fond of stratchy cheek next to my cheek.

I personally go insane over facial hair. I love to play with it, love the way it feels when I kiss the guy, love the way it looks, but the only thing I hate is when it's too long or neck hair. I like clean shaven faces too, but my personal preference goes toward facial hair. I don't like my ex, in fact I have very negative feelings about him, but I used to love it when we'd be sitting together and he would run his facial hair over my face in a playful manner. Ahh the good times.

I don't like bushy beards or mustaches. I can't stop thinking about the food that might have gotten into them, and the microscopic irksomes that dwell with the food. I don't like the skritchy feeling either. But admittedly some guys look better with facial hair. Since you're probably not going for the grandpa beard, I say keep it if it's how you feel best.

For myself, I like to keep a little bit of facial hair going on. Anything too long and it looks weird (because I'm still no manly enough to grow a real beard *sulk*), but I feel like a 12 year old when clean shaven. My comprimise is to have all over stubble, the bonus being that because I'm just not that manly it's closer to peach fluff than actual beard.

I like your beard, Bry (I didn't know you had a DA account, I shall have to have a look later! laugh.gif ).
In my opinion, some guys look good with beards, some don't, some look good with or without (ie, Johnny Depp, lmao XD ). The first time I saw Fuzzy without a beard it scared the hell out of me! It was like he was a totally different person!
I agree with the not too bushy thing. My dad has a big bushy beard, but it wouldn't look right on most ^^' (The thing about food getting caught in them is pretty much a myth. If your eating something messy then anyone is going to get that on their face anyway.)

In summary, I like beards. I didn't used to, but then I met Fuzzy and I guess I had to, lmao tongue.gif

I've recently started talking to this bloke, we get on really well and I think he'll become a good friend eventually....

He has a beard, and has recently shaved it off, which to my suprise made him look extremely different, and not at all attractive, but with the beard on he was really very attractive!!!

Strange how it works!

Hear hear! My dorky lab teacher has a full-on Greek War Hero model, and one has to spend a huge amount of time with him (coaxing answers for the lab questions out, in my case) in order to notice that he hasn't got a chin.

Personally, I like beards to be under control. I am not interested in dating a talking bush. And as most boys my age aren't exactly winning any facial hair competitions, soul patches are a nice compromise, especially if the boy involved has a nice-looking mouth.

*has a crush on all the boys with soul patches*
