My next tattoo., I've been waiting a long time for this. Options

Ok So I have been going on about having a new tattoo done for ages. I want one done on the small of my back. This morning I was searching for faerie pictures when I cam across
this

Not a tattoo I know BUT I was wondering whether any of my artistically inclined matazonian friends could give me a hand making it into a tattooable image.

What I would like is for the faerie to be in abit more detail- namely hair colour and clothing but the essentail shape is exactly what I want. Any takers?

I have a pair of earrings with that design. It's lovely. I wish I had any talent whatsoever in tattoo design, or else I would draw one up for you, but, well. Hope you can find a nice one--and I'm sure you will with GA drawing one.

My main plan is to get it done on the small of my back so it will be another tatto I can't see without a mirror!!! But it will look so cool

I'm lovin' Mata's flock'o'faeries but seriously, more than one FaerieRyn could we cope.

Ryn was going to go or something like a rose in celtic knots before (have a look at the back of and "A Knights Tale Directors Cut" if you have it) this kinda took over from that.

I think my fave so far is the thicker edged wings, although both look great... wonder how long it'll take before I get sick of holding up a mirror????

I've done you two designs, but unfortunately my scanner is teh broken, so I'll have to either wait until it's fixed or see if I can get someone to scan it in for me. Bear with me a couple more days

I had planned on finishing this but the creative bug seemed to go away from me and school starts next week so I'm not sure I'm going to get to finish it. If you want the bigger version for print let me know and I'll e-mail it to you. If I do get to finish it before you make a choice on what you want to use for your tat, I'll post a finished version.



If you take that to a tat artist they should be able to work with it to give it better legs and hands.

Cool Thanks guys!!! The faeries are coming out really nicely. Now my next question is can anyone draw a faerie with the knots either side of it. That would be even better as I am hoping to get something celtic on the base of my spine and this design would fit perfectly.

Is there any particular reason for the celtic knots? There are loads of other cool things out there; how about branches reaching out in the style of chinese plum blossoms?

Not that there's anything wrong with celtic work, but there's a whole world of fantastic imagery out there, and it the celtic knotwork doesn't have specific symbolism for you then there are other options you might like to consider.

It was more of a case that the design was already there. I can't draw and having a ready made design made it easier. Also it's very simple and quite pretty.

Incidentally, if you do choose to use any of these designs, get your tattooist to tidy up the lines on the wings. They're fiddly to correct when use free-drawn vectors, but it'll be the work of moments with a pencil!

Hi all,

I know this topic has been gone for a while now but with rykan posting about her tat I thought I'd bring it up again. I've decided that I want the one mata first put on for me with the knot work sort of design but I would like to put proper butterfly wings onto her. Is there anyone out there in internet land who could help? I've tried adding wings myself but have no art/ computer art skills and need help doing this. My plan is to leave much of the tattoo black and white but have colour on thw wings. Neat huh?
