I have been on My space for a while now, My wife urged me to join a long time ago and the account has sat dormant for most of a year, Suddenly I have started to get notes and emails form old school friends, 5 different friends in the last week, Which is great, Its been fun catching up, If a little bizzarre.
Just wondering what other peoples experiences of My Space are?

My experience is 'You have beutiful smile. Tell me about you and you's family.'
Apart from a couple of those it been pretty good I've been reminded about some music I use to listen to and found some new stuff to. It's been pretty good.

Meh, not my thing. With kids my age, it's an infestation - everyone has one and a billion friends on them, they look annoying, there's annoying music, blah. I made an account when I was bored last summer, and I need to delete it. I use LiveJournal for any "blogging".

Yeah I have fifteen or so years on you, That And I don't do blogs. I have never quite understood why anyone would want to read about, My day or feelings in the kind of random way that a blog would present it as, I mean its no problem if someone on a forum has asked for advice and a relevent experience of mine might help to illustrate. Maybe its my age but I never quite saw the point in blogs.

Haha, I am the same with blogs. If I want to vent things, I will do it at a person.

Having said that, when I went to Scotland (Orkney) this year, it was to meet and stay with someone who I first "met" through MySpace. We had spoken on MSN and on the phone millions of times, but I would have never -gone to Orkney nor had such a fun time if I didn't have a MySpace account.

I also like going on a band's site, clicking a band they like and then a band that band likes and so on until you end up at a site of a very small obscure little band who actually turn out to be quite good.

I have one. The music part of it is quite cool, but I prefer last.fm. I find myspace pretty useless because I just use msn to stay in contact with people and I have my own blog. (Although it's more like Mata's one than an "i am so depressed" emo diary thing)

Someone with exactly the same name as me added me the other day. That was strange. I've also been added by someone who seems to like people called Mat(t) and has added 339 of them so far...

Last summer, at summer camp, this kid told me about Myspace and how you could talk to bands you like and blah blah blah. So I made an account, but couldn't figure it out. I think I had one friend, and his name was Tom or something. I haven't been on it since last summer, and don't plan to ever use it again, considering I forgot my username and password..

When it comes to keeping in touch with friends, myspace is a godsend. Myspace is the only thing that everyone I'm friends with uses, so I don't have to bother with all that other stuff like AIM and MSN.

I actually really like my myspace. At first I wasn't that interested in it, in fact the only reason I signed up for it was to preview the new NIN album before it came out. One day I got bored after that and actually decided to build my profile with pictures and information. Now that it's up old friends both from real life and the internet have found me on there and gotten back in touch with me. I've also found it is a good way to keep in touch with some of my friends from school and even from people here on matazone. Hell it's even pretty much the only way I keep up with my brother and sister at times because I'm really bad about making phone calls.

I have a myspace, as much as I despise it. I only got it so that I could laugh at a friend for her profile there but then I just got sucked in! It's quite fun aswell for bands because some of the bands I like are too lazy to have their own website hence one can only get information from myspace.

I only joined MySpace about two weeks ago, and it was solely to keep a couple of my friends quiet: they had signed up and wanted to be able to add me to their friends list. Therefore, I took the plunge. I am not a huge fan of it, but it has allowed me to speak a little more regularly to a few 'friends' that I normally wouldn't see very much. I like the idea, but the site does wind me up a little.

I have a page which I spruced up, made a note not to add a song to, and then didn't do anything else to it and it remains unchanged.

Never shall I mis-use a bulleton, nor shall I add an annoying autoplay song to it.
