Hey, everyone. I'm looking into buying a kilt (a Utilikilt to be specific), and I have a question. Now, I know that, traditionally, kilts are worn at the waist, and I've done that before. It's fine, but I've always worn traditional woolen kilts that are sort of stuffy anyway. I generally wear my pants at my hips. So, can anyone answer me this: for casual, everyday, cotton kilts, is it more comfortable to wear them at your hips or your waist? I need to know because my waist is a lot smaller than my hips, so clothes will only fit one or the other without the aid of a belt (and I need to know how long a kilt to get anyway). Thank you.

*mutters something about kilts*
I would have thought that you would wear it on your hips if it is more comfortable. These kilts aren't really traditional, so why go with traditional ways of wearing them?

They allow oggling of men's legs and thus I am firmly in favour of them?

Sorry don't know much about them. The only time I see men in kilts is in parades. Then it's part of a uniform and of a standard length for everyone. Maybe I should head out to Robbie Burn's night?

Anyone know when Robbie Burn's night is?

You are quite likely to see Teapot's kilt legs at a festival, local party or generally if you catch him unawares in his house.

Kilts are cool. smile.gif I was looking into buying one myself. (Once I gather up the money..)

I have never really owned one but on the site, there's a place where it instructs you on where to measure yourself for the Utilikilt. The link that should get you there is: http://www.utilikilts.com/sizing/

If you end up going ahead and getting one before I get to, tell me how you like it. smile.gif Do you wear kilts habitually? How do you like them? etc. etc. happy.gif
