I've gone all experimental on yo' ass with this one.

A Found poem is a poem discovered by words in your surroundings. Words from events posters, signs, road markings, newspaper headlines and anything written around you, are collected and compiled into a piece of poetry. Usually they come off as nonsense, but at the same time seem slightly philosophical. I just had to have a go.

Since they aren't my own words, just placed into an order that seems to work I can't ask for critism - instead I'm asking for what it means to you. Tell me what you think the poem is saying.

Islamic society, coming together
Urban rampage
Special fire
Needles and glass replace straw hats
Oblivion-seekers in the ruins.
You Are Here,
I caught you.
Exposure.
Why do we have so few,
Prayers?

My brief impression of your poem-

Islamic society, coming together
Urban rampage -"riots" in the Parisian 'burbs
Special fire

Needles and glass replace straw hats - Urbanisation of greenbelts/ countryside

Oblivion-seekers in the ruins.
You Are Here,
I caught you. -1984
Exposure.
Why do we have so few,
Prayers?
