I know I've not been round much and you probably all know the answer to this and are terribly bored of it being asked but nur I'm going to ask anyway tongue.gif

Why is it so quiet around here?

What's going on? Very few people post anymore. I've got broadband now and I was looking forward to coming back to a riot of posts and colours and fun and spangles and fluffy internet type things and nothing...zip...nadder. Boo sad.gif

Perhaps something could be done to boost Mata's presence on 'tinternet?!? unsure.gif
Can we do anything at all to make this the lively board it once was?

I think it's just mostly that people don't come to the forums anymore or they lurk. Sometimes it just seems difficult to start a new thread and have it catch on, so it's sit back and watch, or just move on for a lot of people. There are still quite a few of us silly people here though. I personally have trouble coming around as much because my coursework keeps me rather busy and I work on top of that.

I miss the busy-ness too, but I guess I'm guilty as well since I rarely if ever start topics. Hmm... we should all pick a day to start a topic... or something. Or devise a plan to recruit old people to come back and new people to come? I'm up for anything.

This isn't the hive of activity and silliness it used to be. Mostly because it became the wrong sort of silliness and we had to put a stop to it right away, for the sake of the children.

I would've thought you'd have been the main protagonist of the wrong sort of silliness wink.gif tongue.gif

I don't suppose we can win really coz if the site was flooded with random people making lots of irrelevant and pointless posts we'd grumble and if no one posted ever we'd grumble. Ah Matazone! How I love it laugh.gif

Well, we had a stream of people making spam no-future threads, so I got strict with the settings, but I might have been too strict and I think I frightened away some of the new blood... Damn!

I suspect a lot of it is because I've simply not had enough time to be making new animations - but the Trouble Down Pit webcomic is getting more hits every time I post it (literally, every strip is more popular than the last) so that might bring some more people in.

I'm also starting my new job soon, so I either will suddenly have more time on my hands (through not having to struggle to get money and do a thesis) or I'll have a lot less... Hopefully the former, which will mean that I may get back into making silly things. Silly things attract silly people, and a silly cycle begins.

At a very specific level, I've not had so much time to post over the last couple of weeks because I'm getting ready to move in... Eek! Six days!

We fixed him. We fixed him but good biggrin.gif

I'm also guilty of lurking. I find myself with little time to involve myself here much anymore, or anywhere other than uni, really. Real life just sort of caught up with me. I still do my daily click on "view new posts" though, because coming back after three months of being away means lots of catch-up reading. Ugh...

I'd have to say pretty much the same as most: I've been busy keeping up with real life. Not as much time for bummingn arounf on the interweb for me sad.gif

Right, well I now feel like a real billy-no-mates if I've got time to come on this board and post this thread....hang on....you're all posting in it too so I guess you're billies too dry.gif We could be billies together....but wouldn't that negate the point of billiness?!? huh.gif

laugh.gif

Anyway, nuff said people. I guess I'm just one of the lucky few who has a few minutes every day to pop on and say hi.

Oi Mata, make some new silliness and there'll be less billiness....er....yeah...right.

That's the plan. I've got a new Mr Snaffleburger all worked out, which should be fairly quick-ish to make, but I still need to edit down the next LGG episode script - I wrote it, recorded the audio, then discovered that it was ten minutes long! Eek! I think it needs some serious trimming or I'll be animating for months!

It's possible that I might not have an internet connection in my new flat for up to four weeks from this Monday (15th Jan 2007). This is bad because I won't be able to browse the forums much from work, but potentially good in that it means I'll have less distractions when I'm at home so I should have more time to animate. Yay!

Hooray! Snafflage!

Also, a paradox! I no longer have internet at home and yet, as many of you may have noticed, I've started posting again. Maybe that's why it's so quiet. I'm intimidating.

--------------------

JERUSALEM, Israel (AP) - In response to Israel's denial of water to the West Bank, HAMAS released three cheetahs in West Jerusalem, where they went on a killing spree, mauling four Jews and injuring thirteen.

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) - Following a cheetah attack on West Jerusalem perpetrated by the majority HAMAS party, the Israeli Air Force retaliated by detonating twenty kiloton nuclear devices over Gaza City, Jenin, Nablus, Rafah, and Ramallah.

ASHDOD, Israel (AP) - As a result of the atomic bombings of five Palestinian cities, a 50-foot tall reptile has woken from its million-year slumber in the Mediterranean Sea. The monster has made landfall at Ashdod and obliterated the city. Eyewitnesses report that the monster left the destroyed city heading southeast.

Life... oh life, why have they gotten in the way of my posting??

I saw this and the guilt overwhelmed me into a post. I'm guilty of lurking again but mainly it's a time and energy and habit thing.
While Ryn and I moved home I dropped out of the internet's clutches and therefore the habit. I'm being worked to the knuckles (which is all changing soon but I'll post about that separately) in Canary Wharf and by the time I get home the last thing I want to look at is a screen.

But saying that I thing on balance we've had a few more meets which are always cool.
It'll perk up again wink.gif
