Hey all,
I know some of you play warhammer or paint miniatures. I jus started doing it and was wondering about what you all have created or are creating right now. I think I'm going to be painting mostly but I am interested in your army lists and experiences and well pretty much everything involving warhammer (or other miniature games) -------------------- facebook.com/EleanorUmbra

I've been suffering a lack of motivation recently because I don't know many players local to me any more.
I did manage to paint a couple of High Elf Spearmen the other week though, when I do manage to play a game that tends to spur me on with the painting. -------------------- I am Candice's asw emo e-husband, real life actual husband and all around awesome person, Funked)Out_Frogg's e-paramour. There are two reasons why I never got into Warhammer and the like:
1. Costs a lot of money (I mean seriously, 20 euros for 2-3 dudes?) 2. You have to paint the buggers |

The forum sure encourages me to continue ASAP with whatever I'm doing. I started with a LOTR army recently and have to say I really enjoy painting them. Do you have any pictures of what you've done most recently? -------------------- facebook.com/EleanorUmbra

1. Costs a lot of money (I mean seriously, 20 euros for 2-3 dudes?) 2. You have to paint the buggers your point one is invalid in some cases. Ebay and others will help you getting your models cheaper, and those prices usually go for leader type thingies. Up until now I found the prices (except for the Games Workshop brushes or other tools form them) fairly reasonable. Plus everything pretty much costs money, and since I don't smoke or anything and felt like a hobby was a good idea I was like... why not ^^ It did level me up in the Nerd section (though you have to understand I am pretty much a master of geekness already... or a diva whatever suits your opinion best hahahha). Your second point is pretty much why I started, I really enjoy it. Some people (like you I suppose) that don't like them buy them pre-painted or do very basic painting (spraying the base coat and add another colour if they can be bothered). People play the games for multiple and different reasons e.g. painting, modelling, socializing, playing, collection ect. S. -------------------- facebook.com/EleanorUmbra

I think its nice you chose to make the shadows blue instead of grey. Did you use any washes? -------------------- facebook.com/EleanorUmbra

I didn't use many washes on that guy, I'm wary of it on white because it tends to end up speckly, more so on the spearmen where there's a lot of metal. I think I used a black wash on the metal on the banner pole to bring out the details on the metal parts.
Some blurry photos below and including far too much of my messy desk. Archers Musician (face on this guy is a bit of a mess, I've found a better technique now) Silver Helms mounts, 6 of these left to paint and 8 riders to go Selection of Elves And some of the ork stuff I had to hand: Old pic of some Orks and a barricade I built from spare bits and epoxy putty Stompa, I've had chance to use this guy precisely once in about 3 years Bug guns on the Stompa And a big chainsaw arm Giant exhausts Skullhamma Battle Fortress (a Baneblade + Orky bits and big exhausts) From the back Drive me closer! I want to hit them with my sword The planes in the background are another reason I've not had chance to paint much. >_> I'll probably get a bit more done once the current one is finished. What's your army of choice? I'm curious to see some pics if you have any? -------------------- I am Candice's asw emo e-husband, real life actual husband and all around awesome person, Funked)Out_Frogg's e-paramour. They sell them pre-painted? On e-bay, people who have got bored with/ran out of space for their old armies. My house is full of Warhammer stuff, the joys of loving a nerd Sara, I assume you've seen Paul's pics on FB. I don't really have anything to add to the conversation even though I rarely go more than a week without setting foot in our local Games Workshop I spend 99% of the time I am in there in my happy place! -------------------- |
