I love it when I'm watching something and people over act it.

I just was watching a show called the pretender which I watch every morning lol. They get to this part where the doc is asking his long lost love if her son is his and he just abruptly turns and grabs her and asks. She has this look like she's trying not to giggle. The scene continues on with her turning to a side and saying oh but I couldn't or just sighing. I couldn't help to laugh.

I like this show and they usually don't have such bad acting, but I thought I would see if anyone else wanted to talk about overacting.

I know what you mean. Six words: Watching General Hospital with my mom. laugh.gif For some reason it makes her very happy when I do this. I guess she thinks it is a normal girl thing for me to do.

Anywho...

The kidnapped girl talks to herself very very dramatically like there are other people in the room with her. And what makes the kidnapped girl's plight even worse? She is pregnant, *gasp*. Oh, and after anyone says anything at all, they must flip their hair for overall effect...

biggrin.gif Gotta love it...

The whole "grabbing-the-shoulders-and-intently-asking-questions" move is great. Especially when the question isn't important.

*grabs shoulders* "What time does the movie start?"
"What?"
*shakes shoulders* "Tell me, dammit!"

LMFAO

Thats what the guy did on the show I was watching but I guess the question was important.

I like to do this in real: Get up right in the persons face and say....you you hi. or something stupid like that. Maybe we should all do crap like that for sh_ts and giggles.

Hey I'm not complaining, his OTT performances are practicly the only thing a lot of the films he's been in have going for them.

Btw, Battle angel Alita rules. : )

Alan Rickman, overact??? Good lord, he barely gets started in some movies!! I point ya to "Prince of Thieves", that was a classic! Nah, I like him as an actor, he does a damn fine job of playin the baddie role...

Anyway... I point to most soaps... dreadful...

Oh, an any Brit old enough to remember "Victoria Wood - As Seen on TV" will no doubt remember "Acorn Antiques", which was a delicious sideswipe at badly acted soaps...

lmao @ that.....i hate all soaps. but yeah, the over-acting is generally pretty funny.

my favorite were these videos we had to watch in economics in high school called "econ and me"....about some kids and their imaginary friend named econ. freaking hilarious. oh also anything by mary kate and ashely also has some serious over-acting...if you can stomach it, that it. my sister used to be a big fan of theirs..ugh.

I DO watch it after all.

My mom has watched it since it started and even she loves their overacting.

So Cheese: Whatcha think is gonna happen with Emily and Gia and Zander and Nikolas and Lydia and that whole mess?

LoL.

Yep, I was bein sarcastic! Nahhh, I love him in movies, I love the way he acts as a baddie... I particularly loved the scene from "Robin Hood, PoT" where he's a bit miffed, shouts to some chick "You, my room, 10:30", then to another one, "You, 10:45!", pauses, looks back, an says "and bring a friend." Classic!!!

We had a TV show here recently called Dead Ringers, based on a radio programme I wish I'd listened to... they did a skit on Rickers doin the "Token Baddy" in movies, an they had the guy in every shot, dressed as the part, shakin his fist an sayin things like...

"I'll getcha, John Maclaine!"

"I'll getcha, Harry Potter!"

"I'll getcha, Robin of Loxley!"

Muchos laughs... laugh.gif laugh.gif
