i'm going with guards 'cause vimes and angua are my favourite characters. i was angua for halloween 2 years ago, nifty costume if i do say so myself.

it was also the first series i got my dad to read. when i was angua, he dressed up as duck man!

i have to say pratchett is insanely brilliant.

i mean how do you come up with a world that is flat on the back of four elephants, on the back of a giant space turtles of unknown sexual orientation(bit like mittens arrggh the concept scary mittens is great a'tuin aaaarrrgh!) plus the amazingly wide variety of characters available. the patrician's sheer ability has to be respected along with his polar opposite carrot (similar abilities just different manifestations) death's simplistic approach to everything is execellantly done, poor poor rincewind, the always amusing great gaspode, the mighty detritus and dorlf. and the classic duo of nobby and colon
